"Can't wait to see the master do a song I know and understand well! That'll truly test my understanding and give me insight into his playing."
    First second of the song......
    Oh....nevermind.

as a child young Julian enjoyed spending many hours a day alone with his instrument and the music he adored :) and look what happened, he got good.

It's not that Julian is playing something hard, he's not, that is obvious in his playing. And that is what so many of us admire about him, how he makes it sound so easy, and we see and hear magic.

@@xtheunknown6717 Excuse me? This is not hard? Idk what kind of drug you are on but plug me to your dealer. This is hard as hell, especially since is all improvisation. Unless you meant is not hard for him? Then that would make sense. If you think this is not hard please upload your video improvising with counterpoints like this, I´d love to see-

OMG. More and more, I think Julian's approach to his instrument is more like that of a pianist. Like a classical music performer: nuances and interpretation first. The technique having to disappear behind the musical "text".

If you listen to his new music, trio you’ll hear a lot of rock influence in the music and his playing. It’s quite amazing to see how’s hes grown over a short time. It’s his originals that make him play the way he does now. Check out his newer trio stuff on you tube, I believe you’ll be surprised. He’s got it all!

He actually does... He mix a lot of rock/country stuff on his playing. Sometimes he even play 5ths as strong as he can at the end of an arpeggio. Just because. And with a little distortion, even better.

maybe he should start bending and wiggling one note over a 1 5 chord progression then would have soul?

@@marshallcrocker8239 ya beat me to it! Maybe he should make stupid faces while bending a string. Wiggle and bend, wiggle and bend. It got BB and Clapton over on everyone.
