I have tears in my eyes hearing about the depth of love and the measures that your Heavenly Father took for you to come to Him, Mike. He brought you over an ocean, to a completely different country so that you could learn about and receive Him. Engaged at 15 my story is extremely similar. Soon to be celebrating our 50th. Now we have been welcoming grandchildren and watching our children becoming wonderful parents as well. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that God gives us many wonderful blessings.

What a beautiful story, Andrea! My husband and I have been married for 46 years and our story is a lot like yours. My dad was a Baptist preacher and preached up to the week before he passed away at 91. My parents reacted to Jack pretty much the same way your parents reacted to Mike because he was not raised in church. After a lot of prayer from my mom and dad, Jack was saved under the preaching of Billy Graham. And needless to say my parents were thrilled!! Of course he became active in the church and still is today. The bible tells us that God works in mysterious ways. I truly believe He brought us together even though we lived totally different lives. He's my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life without him. Sorry this is so long but I was surprised at how much we have in common with how things turned out for us. 😍😇❤❤

Well I know we don’t get to tell the Lord what we want and expect Him to bless it unless it’s His will. God is so good and has done so much in our lives and in our grown children’s lives. Our youngest son was far from God and into drugs and women but God has brought him back full circle and he married a beautiful Christian Woman a year ago in March and they are now expecting a new baby in July. My husband is an immigrant, too. He came when he was 4 years old when he came to America from Fiji. My dad came to America when he was 14 from Portugal. I went to the Azores in 2019 with my family it was a dream come true. I'm so happy for the both of you! One day we will go to Fiji.

I’m born and raised in Germany 🇩🇪 and met my husband as an American Soldier stationed in Bamberg , got married and lived there for 5 years after his tour in the Army ended and had 3 daughters. By then my husband was itching to go back to the States and we packed up kid and caboodle and moved back to his hometown in Massachusetts, that was 40 years ago. We had one more Daughter in 1985 . I’m soooo happy that you are taking a trip to Germany, you will love 💕 the country, the people and the food . It will be a very special experience . I love this Andrea - my husband and I also sat together on a bus when we were College students traveling to our respective schools during our practical teaching blocks. What a sweet video-I found myself crying with you. My husband lived in Germany also. He came back home and was born again soon after. God drew us both to the same church. I gave my life to Jesus and we met and soon after got married. We have been married for 40 years and are still in love and serving Jesus. The best is yet to come-how close is the return of our Lord? What a cute Love Story. God sure did have a plan for your beautiful family. My Grandma's parents were from Germany. They immigrated here in 1912 to Detroit. My grandma, her mother and her nephew went back to Germany to visit relatives back in 1937. The nazi's took my Great Grandma's passport and the nephew's and wouldn't let them leave. My Grandma came back to America. After the war my Great Grandma ended up in East Germany and wasn't allowed to leave. It took my grandma 25 yrs. to get her out and My Great Grandma was the first woman released from Communist Germany in 1962. She came back to the US and lived her life out in Michigan. The nephew was killed during the war. I'm so glad you and your family got to go and visit his homeland. What a wonderful blessing.

Your story sounds very similar to our story but in reverse . My husbands parents are very “ religious “ and they said he couldn’t date me if I wasn’t at their church every Sunday with them . I was 18 and Jon was 17 . I agreed and I was at church every time the doors were open and we were married 18 months later . We will be celebrating our 31st anniversary on June 27th .

Married at 20 we became born again Christians when we were in our mid thirties. Weve now been married for 52 years. My parents met in Germany, my mom is from Canada but got stuck in Germany while visiting grandparents and then the war broke out. My dad was from the states and was in the army and was sent to Germany to stop the Nazis. They met in Stuttgart, came back to Canada got married and then moved back to the states and then 10 years later moved back to Canada.
What an amazing story…a story that the greatest authors couldn’t come up with…a story for your boys to tell for generations to come! I truly believe that our fate and destiny has already been preplanned for us. We sometimes don’t understand what life throws at as at the moment but in time the layers reveal themselves. A sweet story, a sweet couple. When I 1st starting teaching, I rented a room from a lady who was a war bride and grew up in Stuttgart. Her grandma owned a bakery and she made wonderful black forest cake and fruit tortes. Lived with her for decades. She became my 2nd mom. My dad's grandparents came from Berne, Switzerland.

What a beautiful story! ❤ I grew up in a Christian family and since childhood the way parents raised us, we knew that we cannot date/marry someone who is not Christian. I’m also a pastor’s child, so our actions were/are always like an example for others.
I am not surprised that your husband is of German background. He looks almost exactly like my neighbours husband who was born and partially raised in Germany. The children speak german and eat German foods.
Germany is beautiful! I visited there for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! The food there is so fresh nothing compared to here! I was 18 and went with no family, just church members to have fellowship there in Germany. We went everywhere and to France as well is so much fun.
I've been to German four times and love the country...especially the good food. Having travelled extensively, I'd say that the quality of the food in the USA is very poor. People in America eat food that is deep fried, heavily salted, overly processed, excessively sweetened, and filled with chemicals. We'd be a healthier nation if we ate like Europeans do. I control what my children eat and I make just about everything from scratch. Is it time consuming...of course! But is is so important to be healthy.
What a beautiful story! It mimics mine. I met my husband when I was 13. We have been together for 54 years. My Dad did not like him at all. Called him a skinny, foul mouth, smart Alex punk. I saw something different. I saw Gods love for his life. I saw possibilities. We were following Gods path and my now husband was not. Fast forward.... My husband was saved, has taught Sunday school, has been the head of many church boards...etc. We have raised 2 sons to be loving, thoughtful and generous. God has a plan when we don't know it. All things work together for good.

What a wonderful story, and so cool how Mike came to know Jesus and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. I was stationed in Hanau (by Frankfurt) over 40+ years ago. Loved the country and the people. I was able to return to Germany with a friend I was stationed with, way back when, about 3-4 years ago. We revisited Hanau and I saw the Kaserne we were at, along with the area. We went to the Black Forest, Bavaria and back up. Such a blessing it was! A lifetime of memories! I hope you put together a video of your trip to show us.

Andrea… my husband and I met in 1965! I was a sophomore, and he was a senior. (Different schools). We met through mutual friends. On our 3rd date he told me he loved me. That was discouraging to me. (I thought he told that to everyone he dated). Long long story …. We’re still blessed to be together. We have two adult children and 3 grandchildren. Love your story!🌷

Your story could have gone very differently had you rebelled against your parent's wishes and carried on a relationship with Mike without them knowing. Praise be to the Father, you did not. I love this Andrea - my husband and I also sat together on a bus when we were College students traveling to our respective schools during our practical teaching blocks. For five weeks we chatted about everything, became best mates, and ultimately fell in love. That was almost 37 years ago 😊- your trip looked wonderful and so special. Thanks for sharing your journey.
What a sweet video-I found myself crying with you. My husband lived in Germany also. He came back home and was born again soon after. God drew us both to the same church. I gave my life to Jesus and we met and soon after got married. We have been married for 40 years and are still in love and serving Jesus. The best is yet to come-how close is the return of our Lord? I love when you include the boys and Mike in your videos. Tell Mike we appreiciate him making the video, since he doesn't seem to like the camera. What a cute Love Story. God sure did have a plan for your beautiful family. My Grandma's parents were from Germany. They immigrated here in 1912 to Detroit. My grandma, her mother and her nephew went back to Germany to visit relatives back in 1937. The nazi's took my Great Grandma's passport and the nephew's and wouldn't let them leave. My Grandma came back to America. After the war my Great Grandma ended up in East Germany and wasn't allowed to leave. It took my grandma 25 yrs. to get her out and My Great Grandma was the first woman released from Communist Germany in 1962. She came back to the US and lived her life out in Michigan. The nephew was killed during the war. I'm so glad you and your family got to go and visit his homeland. What a wonderful blessing.

Your story sounds very similar to our story but in reverse . My husbands parents are very “ religious “ and they said he couldn’t date me if I wasn’t at their church every Sunday with them . I was 18 and Jon was 17 . I agreed and I was at church every time the doors were open and we were married 18 months later . We will be celebrating our 31st anniversary on June 27th .

What a blessed and lovely story it made me quite emotional. God moves in mysterious ways. I went to school with my husband and we became friends when we were fifteen. Married at 20 we became born again Christians when we were in our mid thirties. Weve now been married for 52 years. Weve had our up and downs but we know Jesus has been with us and our three grown up sons. God bless and thanks xxxx

My parents met in Germany, my mom is from Canada but got stuck in Germany while visiting grandparents and then the war broke out. My dad was from the states and was in the army and was sent to Germany to stop the Nazis. They met in Stuttgart, came back to Canada got married and then moved back to the states and then 10 years later moved back to Canada.
Praise the Lord for Mike's salvation!! What a doll he is and you both are. God is Good!

A sweet story, a sweet couple. When I 1st starting teaching, I rented a room from a lady who was a war bride and grew up in Stuttgart. Her grandma owned a bakery and she made wonderful black forest cake and fruit tortes. Lived with her for decades. She became my 2nd mom. My dad's grandparents came from Berne, Switzerland.

I am not surprised that your husband is of German background. He looks almost exactly like my neighbours husband who was born and partially raised in Germany. The children speak german and eat German foods.
Germany is beautiful! I visited there for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! The food there is so fresh nothing compared to here! I was 18 and went with no family, just church members to have fellowship there in Germany. We went everywhere and to France as well is so much fun.

I've been to German four times and love the country...especially the good food. Having travelled extensively, I'd say that the quality of the food in the USA is very poor. People in America eat food that is deep fried, heavily salted, overly processed, excessively sweetened, and filled with chemicals. We'd be a healthier nation if we ate like Europeans do. I control what my children eat and I make just about everything from scratch. Is it time consuming...of course! But is is so important to be healthy.
What a beautiful story! It mimics mine. I met my husband when I was 13. We have been together for 54 years. My Dad did not like him at all. Called him a skinny, foul mouth, smart Alex punk. I saw something different. I saw Gods love for his life. I saw possibilities. We were following Gods path and my now husband was not. Fast forward.... My husband was saved, has taught Sunday school, has been the head of many church boards...etc. We have raised 2 sons to be loving, thoughtful and generous. God has a plan when we don't know it. All things work together for good.

I was stationed in Hanau (by Frankfurt) over 40+ years ago. Loved the country and the people. I was able to return to Germany with a friend I was stationed with, way back when, about 3-4 years ago. We revisited Hanau and I saw the Kaserne we were at, along with the area. We went to the Black Forest, Bavaria and back up. Such a blessing it was! A lifetime of memories!
