"But we don’t think about the loss - we think about the abundance." Truer words have never been spoken. People thank God for the abundance, but how many people thank Him for what He has brought them through?
My Ancestor Edward Doty was on the Mayflower in 1620, he was one of the signers of the Mayflower compact, he was an indentured servant, he was one to shaped the United States.
This simple truth of "Thanksgiving" and how two such different groups of people shared - helped and tolerated each other (for 50 years) is better than any text book story or dry history lesson.
And the simple truth is that the Pilgrims were a radical fringe of Protestant Calvinism who were such social rejects in England that they fled to America for safety. Their particular flavor of Calvinism had a bizarre concept of Providence which morally justified the future brutal exploitation of Native Americans, of African slaves, and of the waves of European immigrants who came after that. As such, the holiday of Thanksgiving ìs little more than Bull $hit Propaganda to obscure the Brutal and Genocidal Origins of this supposedly Great Nation.
Thanksgiving is important. My ancestors survived and that is why I am alive today. 25% of the population of America is descended from the pilgrims. That is something to celebrate!
We're going back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys OFF the menu. That's right! We're going back in time to the first Thanksgiving to get turkeys OF THE MENU! 🦃
The origin of the myth of Thanksgiving comes from Jamestown; not Plymouth and the myth is the complete opposite of the truth.. Jamestown was founded 13 years before Plymouth in 1607. What happened was the colonists were invited to a ceremonial peace dinner given in honor of the Jamestown inhabitants by the natives who decided to welcome these interlopers into the New World.. At the dinner they treacherously poisoned the local King of the Chesapeake Tribe, and killed all of his family. 200 American Natives all told, died of the poisoning, This is where the American myth of Thanksgiving originally actually comes from.

The 'first Thanksgiving' was held at BERKELEY PLANTATION on the James River, in VIRGINIA, years before the 2nd wave of invading European christian terrorists set sail.

@@indrekkpringi Close, but no cigar. The Peninsula, today the cities of Hampton, Newport News and Williamsburg was the home of the Mattaponi-Powhatans, from whom my mother was descended. The Chesopean's were in what is now Virginia Beach, which is at the mouth of the Chesapeake, 65 or so miles, across the Bay and up the James River from the Peninsula. The Powhatans warred with the Chesopeans who were eradicated BEFORE the English arrived. The 'First Thanksgiving' was held on the lawns of Berkeley Plantation, on the James River, with the Mattaponi-Powhatans with the invaders some call 'settlers'.
