    I use to watch these videos and have no clue what was going on. But I know a little about MA, I'm finally comprehending. You've really came so far. The classic livestream style is kinda cool. But love the new twitch stuff as well. Good times. 😁

    How to control effect size on fader?

    Could you make a video about morphing heads? Like if you have your basefile but instead of vipers there are x Megapointes. How do you transfer all your preset data from the Vipers to the Megapointes?

    Hi Christian,
    Thanks a lot for sharing those videos !
    Automatic transcription isn't available, though, which is a pity because it helps a lot to navigate in the videos and quickly go back relevant sections, especially for long vids like this. But maybe it's a choice, for some reason ?
    Anyway, thanks again for sharing your ideas ; it's really helpful and inspiring. Cheers.

    When you were cloning, you had to manually take the selections for the effects. could that be done with macros?

    Christian Jackson Hi How do you like lock your showfile? So that only a specific account can load it not the default adminstrator. Much thanks!

    How can someone get into the EDM side of lighting? I use to work in a night club for a while on a Hog 2.
    I understand the concepts of manipulating light patterns, drops, freezes on the fly during shows. The problem is I never learned to fully program lights or the technical aspects of lighting.
    I would love to get back into it, doing live EDM sets were my favorite parts of the night and you seem like a great reference. What would be the best starting path to work your way up to big shows? Do you have a video about how you came up?

    Great video! i learned some cool stuff. Keep up the good work. the only thing that i don't understand is why you have the clone fixtures in your show file because it seems when you patch the fixtures from the show you are working on they come after your "clone Fixtures" not merge with them. if you or someone could explain that would be awesome! thanks

    • @moritzhoewer
      @moritzhoewer 7 лет назад +2

      Basically, the show is programmed with the "Clone Sources" only, and then when he imports the real fixtures, the cloning integrates the new fixtures into the show by cloning the existing data onto them.
      He also has global presets for lots of fixture types (the "Cold Storage" or "Fixture Type Storage" section in the Patch sheet) which being global will apply to the imported fixtures as well.
      So yeah, everything (colors, positions, effects) is already programmed and all you have to do is update it to look good on the real thing

      Hi Moritz, thanks for answering, I had the exact same question. I have a few more questions though (which you or anybody else may answer of course). Why 100 fixtures in each layer, is this important? What if you have 150 fixtures in your "actual show" for spots, would you be screwed? Next question, when creating the initial or let's say the template show, do you create all your executors/sequences taking those 100 "clone" fixtures into account? So let's say Christian's dim fader for spots, at cue 1 he stores a stomp effect with dim at 100, would you need to program it like: Group "all spot clone fixtures" ; At At ; Store At Exec 1.1 Which would mean the sequence contains data for 100 (clone) fixtures, and when cloning my actual show file's 150 spots, it would contain 250 fixtures as data, right?

    But what is on the fader before you have store stomp on it? is it just an empty cue or what? I dont understand :/

    • @XtremeTechYT
      @XtremeTechYT 7 лет назад

      It its basically just an empty cue with stomp stored in it.
      But i eventually can explain it better when u send me the timestamp he is explaining it at in the video.

      XtremeTech 52:37 is when his start to tell how to do it, but i dont understand, i would like a video form the begining how to do it so i just can follow him and se how he is doing, someone help?

    • @EthanBenjamin
      @EthanBenjamin 7 лет назад

      First type into the command line "Stomp Group X" X being the group of lights you want to control then store that as a cue on a temp fader,make sure to store this on an exec page you won't be using for example 100. You then patch a generic dimmer with invert dmx and use this to setup a remote input for the executor you have used then store this at full to another executor on the page you want(also as a temp) and thats it. Feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer as quickly as possible.

      I have already read this on his part 1, but i dont understand... What are the fixtures he have patch doing? plz help

    • @XtremeTechYT
      @XtremeTechYT 7 лет назад

      To invert the Executors Temp Fader he needs to make a dummy fixture. So the normal Faders just change the Dimmer Value of the Dummy Fixture. The Dummy Fixture is configured to start at DMX value 255 at 0% and go to 0 at 100% Dim. Then he uses the inverted DMX values to control the Temp Faders with it. And voila u have a kind of inverted Fader ;D U got it?
