      I love/respect your humility and honesty in your videos. So many of the videos put out by people, many of whom I respect greatly, only show everything as, "I went through this exact situation and I know exactly everything about it" which, if true, does not help explain critical thought about the situation, or, what I fear may be happening in some cases, is extraordinary people afraid to say they don't know everything. I never trust anyone that knows everything. I hope that does not seem like a criticism of anyone telling their story. Again, respect for all armed services but it does not educate us civilians about the truth of combat/survival/success and the experiences you went through serving our country if the truth is not presented accurately. I watch you guys because you respect the truth and NEVER claim knowledge that has not been learned or earned. I know you are likely not to see this but thank you for your service, education, and also entertainment you are providing. When I can afford it, and you have openings, I am enrolling in your program!

    The one thing I really appreciated in this movie is Ana De Armas is’ fight scenes. Her character is obviously competent in fighting but they don’t do what Hollywood does nowadays by making the women be able to take down 200+ pound men. She gets her ass kicked thoroughly in this film in a semi-realistic way but still is able to sort of hold her own. Kudos for that “realism”.

    • @GhostofGomezDawkins
      @GhostofGomezDawkins 2 года назад +9

      Yeah, that's what I was about to comment, but you summed it up perfectly. She gets her ass kicked, but is consistently putting up a decent fight. No spoilers, but the last fight scene with her was great, literally a tug of war, which concluded realistically. Such a fun movie and small/clever nuances that made it more than dumb/fun action.

    I kind of felt like I had to make a comment about the Vets Office thing, I was born in a Vets office in Panama. My father was a US Army Ranger and my mother a native, who didn't want to make the trip on the back of a Donkey the week she was expected to deliver. So when she started going into labor, she went to the only person who had any medical training in the area: the local vet. The guy had never delivered a human child before and told her that she could still make it to the hospital, even offering to driver her himself. She said no and kind of just threw money at him to do it. I was born on the surgery table in the back of his building and named after paper towels "Scott".

      It was ok but i felt like Pratts performance fell flat unfortunately. He doesnt do super serious very well. Guardians or Jurassic World is about as “serious” as he can get.

    Genuinely don’t understand the hate for this movie, it’s no cinematic masterpiece but it’s all around entertaining. What more could you ask for out of an action movie??

    • @aturboford1
      @aturboford1 2 года назад

      It wasn’t realistic but it was visually entertaining. Between the fireworks fight and the boxing in the c130 with the flares, it had tons of pretty interesting takes on fight scenes.

    Another talking point at the “5 minute 60 second” portion is that thermal optics can’t see through glass panels or… any building material for that matter (shout-out Charlie Sheens 1990 Navy Seals)

    Hey guys, love your videos.
    Often in previous videos you guys scip important and great scenes which I don't understand but hey, great videos and storys anyway.
    I got an idea for another movie. Besides I have to say I am from germany and my suggestion is the movie called ''Schutzengel''.
    A well done movie with Til Schweiger and his real daughter and is a tribute to our soldiers especially to the KSK (German special forces) and has a lot of hollywood like action.
    I don't think you guys know this movie and I am absolutely sure you have to watch it with subtitles.
    Fun fact: We germans also have to watch it with subtitles because these both ''actors'' are mumbling hard as f**k.

    Actually I did have a very extensive vocabulary when I was really young.
    But I loved to read. And I was always trying to prove my intelligence because people thought I was retarded because I had siezures.
    But I was also very annoying and stupid too.
    So your point still stands.
    ...
    I have those same shorts btw
    Woohoo! Good for me

    Random knowledge to drive home Abel’s perception of the military being too high: The Army’s adopted optic is the Aimpoint Red dot which not only is more expensive than a EOtech (the iconic “holographic” sight you see in video games) but is also just a worse optic as far as reticle goes. Also, while the Army adopted a red dot and then started using ACOGs (the iconic 4x sight) afterward, the Marines decided it would be smarter to adopt the ACOG first so now almost all Marines have it while in the Army it’s division dependent whether you have an ACOG or not. That just always made me facepalm a bit, especially the aimpoint part.

  • @blake7285

    "I think your perception of the military is way to high" how effing true. Remember when people say military grade thats the person who bid the lowest. It needs to do the job once and then it can be repaired or replaced.
