Same here! I been itching to see the next steps on this bad boi! Seth is one of my absolute favorite guys to watch and pick up a trick or 2 from here n there! Love to see the progress 🙌
I’m a body guy, have been for 10+ years. A donor car would probably be your best bet, like you said. Just drill out the spot welds on the quarter panel liner and cut where you need. When you go to weld up the panel just make sure to go slow so you don’t warp the metal from it getting too hot.
Yea Seth I have the driver side quarter panel that was involved in a small accident… on my red CRX. I won’t do the body work… Gonna take my car to a local south Florida body shop that does car restoration projects. Anyways, love the content and as always thanks for sharing, it means a great deal to me to know that this community isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
Thanks for the support! Sometimes it gets discouraging, but I'm trying to stick with it and put out some content as I get progress, even if it's small stuff like this video.
I haven't chimed in lately, but dang, what do your neighbors think with all the great work you're putting in? I'm speaking from San Diego CA. There's not much room to work here unless you have cool neighbors/personal shop or a decent amount of land. Impressive my G! Bless
I honestly don’t have any direct side by side neighbors. The other neighbors I don’t really see much of, so there really isn’t anything I do to bother anyone, other than the eyesore of the parts CRX on the street. Haha.
You're going to need a cut from a doner. Those panels are long gone as parts. Go very slow, stitch weld every inch or more at the start, and keep the heat from being concentrated to minimize warping. You'll probably still need some spot filler unless you have an expert sheet metal wizard do the fit and welding for you.
I think I'm going to try to source a replacement section and weld it in. I may do some practicing before I even attempt it. I may just see about having a friend do it, if I don't feel like I can successfully.
Missed you Seth! Needed my CRX fix! Glad to see you painted those wheel wells.

Keep the energy Seth its getting there, look forward to seeing the progress. Fingers crossed a donor panel pops up for you.
Thanks! I’ve got a couple options available, I just have to buy it and figure out how to weld. Haha.
@@crxseth just organised my Subaru Forester to get some panel work done after being inspired by your video. Did spy your WRX in the background 😉

Hope you get yours back to new! Same for this one! Haha.
Your trigger fingers gonna be 100 times stronger after this project from all the rattle cans you’ll go through 💪
Just wanted to say thank you for making these videos!

Gorgeous Rex. Wow
Thanks for the update. Been waiting for a while
Ha! I used Chassis paint on my wheel wells. It works.
Great progress, keep it up!
I was waiting for this update!
Oh snap a CRX ..

Thanks for joining!
What welder do you use for body work?
For this, I bought a Harbor Freight Titanium 140. First time welding.
What did you spray your wheel wells with? Love the build!
Just some black chassis paint.
Hard part will be finding a donor car without rust there as well
Replace the small panel with all new metal.
Have a go shaping some new steel to weld in. Not too time consuming if it doesn't work out.

Donor panel is the way to go sir
I’m in the same boat as you with a 95 si hatch I’m trying to find a reputable body shop to take on the work in the Bay Area.
What was the wire wheel drill attachment? Looks like it made quick work of stripping that down!
It’s a nylon wheel. It’s awesome.

Man I have a real bad leak coming from somewhere, do you think it's coming from the hatch seals?
Probably not. It’s probably the hatch hinges. The seam sealer breaks down there and allows water to come in and drip from the hatch strut area.
@@crxseth Thanks man I’ll try it out

It hurts don't it, when it doesn't start first turn. Lol. Jokes aside, you the man.
Use 2k caroglue from petec or 3m with a good panel. No welding needed

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I’ll get it all sorted out soon.
@@crxseth You're welcome. I'm doing similar work on mine. Reviving these old beauties is getting harder and harder.

Are you spraying purple power on the fender wells?
Yes. That’s what I used to clean them.
🎞🎶📽🎬📸😍😁👍
It’s not that bad tbh, make your own patch panel and weld it in. Or have a professional do it for you.
if your not going to weld the holes, at least fill them with epoxy.

Seth man I like your videos I really do but god damm, enough of the wheels coming on and off shots...we don't need to see it every single time!
Haha. Yeah, it seems like that’s all I do is put these wheels on and off. Sometimes there isn’t a lot of exciting shots of this type of work.
I hear ya man, I'm restoring a CB Accord on my channel and it's tough to make decent content with small jobs
Hi Seth. I'm trying to contact you on Instagram, to have advice to realize some videos like you !
Thank you for your quick answer. See you for the next video...maybe one of mines 🙂
