Well that was disappointing, despite the click bait headline, as others have commented, there was no real guidance about how to stop a dog pulling except your closing comment "seek help from a trainer". My dog is a nightmare on the lead but I'm not using a prong collar, given all the advice from vets and the RSPCA who want them banned. My dog was mistreated in the past and such a device would probably be quite traumatic for her. This video feels like an advert for your business really. im about to get the first dog ive ever owned after having to wait a long, long time. ive dreamed of having a dog since i was very young, their behaviour being a huge interest of mine. ive done countless hours of research into breeds, training, enrichment, working dogs, etc. and have narrowed down every possibility into getting a miniature schnauzer or a cocker spaniel. i have written down everything i know about these breeds and looked into each method of training to see which can be harmful or good for development, which should be used in moderation, which method fits me. after all this it feels good to hear someone commending the research that should always go into dogs, they deserve only the best. hopefully i can become as good a trainer as many of the professionals ive watched or read from and even adopt other dogs in the future.

Go back to basics with training. There are some good YT channels focused on cockers which should help. Alternatively, find a trainer that specialises in spaniels/gundogs.
How do I train my cocker spaniel she is 7 months old when I take her out she pulls me a lot she barks at at children's she wants to jump on people and bark at them and she also a panicky puppy
Hey Jay, thanks for watching! we have a number of different live demos over on our training channel you might helpful: ruclips.net/video/DU1Kz7NWrWc/видео.html
Of course it is! It might just take a little longer than when training a puppy but it is possible! If I know anything about being a human child and having a rough go at things - it’s that inconsistency is the worst in teaching expected behavior. One time a behavior is ok, the next time there is a punishment. I understand needing to phase out “rewards” (treats, reduced pressure on a collar, etc as the training progresses). This is basically an understood contract between you and your dog in terms of expected behavior at this point. I’m not sure how much transfers to dog learning- and I’m sure this takes a lot of effort- but (this is just a guess), consistency using humane techniques will train a dog faster than almost anything.
You can train any child with kindness. had a teacher at my school that taught us Latin one of the words sounded like a bad work in english so a classmate laughed at it not out loud the teacher hears it and just punched the 8 year old and knocked him out with blood running out of his mouth nose and ears that teacher never taught us anything he just taught me hait and revenge my blood was boiling to do that to my friend. if i would have done anything and got the same and went home to my perenties they would said only you did something wrong and would have got the strap at home across the backside. That was over 68 years ago
@@macartancaughey9993 I am now a teacher myself and if the only thing the kids learn is that there’s someone who care about them that I’ve done my job.
So...this was just a "what not to do when your Springer is a puppy" plus a commercial for...what? the training course? I didn't hear one suggestion about how to stop my Springer from pulling on walks. Of course we took him to puppy classes plus graduate classes and trained to heel. He was the star of the class. Anyway, it would have been wonderful to get one suggestion of "how to stop you spaniel pulling on walks". Just sayin'...
Thought my little Cockapoo to retrieve and drop what she has retrieved at my right foot and sit she is 4 months old and is acting like a prow we have a lot more training to do O would like to know who is feeding her Eveready battery's at night because she is all go from 6 am until 11 pm and she is alway ready to learn the reason i go for females dogs is they are so easy to train the picture on my thumb nail was the we dog prior to the Cockapoo she was the beautiful pomeranian called Sassy she was a dream to train and it broke my hart when she passed away but now everything is great

Hi! Any tips on socialising a puppy during a national lockdown 😫 we are due to bring our spaniel pup home in a few weeks and I'm worrying about this new announcement here in the UK! Hopefully restrictions will relax by the time she can go out on walks but this does worry me 😣 I dont suppose there is much we can do but any tips would be really appreciated
Hi, I'm a sprocker owner in South Wales, I've been using a local dog walker for a couple of weeks now and wish I'd done it from day one, I would really suggest this approach, my dog walker takes 4 at a time and follows all social distancing on handovers, it's been invaluable for my little Chester, he loves it.
@@garethsilver do you know what I hadn't even thought of this. Thanks Gareth! I am up North Wales. I wonder if anything prevents me from walking past a friends house and taking their pooches on walks with us? Hmm. I have 8 weeks before we can go on walks so I hope I'm worrying about nothing 🤞🤞🤞 So happy to hear your sprocker is doing well through this
No problem, I think you should be good, it's not like you would be flouting the rules, enjoy your pup, my little un has been an absolute tonic through such a difficult year
Just take him out. When other dog walkers pass let the pup interact (with the owners permission). Ensure you relax too or pup will pick up your anxiety.
This canine-leader-thing sounds weirdly scammy. I thought this would be very specific spanniel knowledge, but it is very general information. Also, there is lots of talking with not a lot of information. This man is trying to convince me by being very emotional. I don‘t know who these videos are adressed to, apparently not to me. It just seems like scam :/
Lot's of bla bla, not really any helpful info. Only thing I agree with is too start training early. If you want to put a prong collar on a dog, which is illegal btw in my contry, I recomment you put it on yourself first to see what it's like.
