Andrew. In your experience, how Many streams does it take and for how long to get that popularity score up to algorithm levels? Based on 70-95% save rate I realize this depends on a lot of factors, but can u give us an estimate ? Please.
Big thanks for all the advice so far. I’m starting to see success with my ads. 100+ streams daily now plus nearly 100% save rate on the song I’m promoting. Stoked. Popularly score went from 0 to 5% within a week
@ yeh I know what u mean. I made many mistakes on the way for sure. TBH I’m sure it’s not perfect still. I just studied Andrew’s vids and some others also. Then just trial n error. I think the submit hub landing page is the key. I was using my distribution landing page also but I think click thru rate not good cos it gets blocked.
@ hey bro. Had a listen to ur music. Sounds quite good to me, I’m no expert in ur genre, but I’d say it’s fairly likeable. Stick with it. Sometimes that’s the hardest part, is knowing if u got something worth pushing. The reason im going all in for my song, is the save rate, if ur seeing high numbers, then u know u got a winner. That’s my advice.
could you do a video on "Missing Event Name" . this sometimes comes up on my data sources and im still not sure what it means for my pixel. thanks Andrew!
I just made some new ads yesterday and idk how to view what platforms people are clicking on and ive only got 7 clicks using 3 different pretty good ads and idk why you said do 10$ a day at first like why?
That either means you don't have the proper permissions on the business, or you're not using a business account. You need to be using a business portfolio and you have to have the full permissions on the pixel.
hey andrew, another great video as usual. i have a question that's been bothering me: a guy doing a reddit AMA who claimed to work for a boutique music marketing firm that does stuff for major labels basically said never pay for meta ads; that they are the most enormous scam; and that tiktok is everything. he said it again and again in answer to people asking about meta ads. i was literally about to start doing the meta conversion campaign stuff, and now i am scared to spend a potentially significant amount of money if there's a more effective free alternative out there. this guy scared me out of my decisiveness. does this guy have a point? is he just straight wrong? aren't tiktok and instagram very different audiences? i wondered what you had to say about what this guy's point of view?
Honestly this person looks sketchy,. I found the thread. He's using a nameless, faceless account with no history aside from this AMA. He's claiming that for $3k-$8k his agency can take an artist from 1k to 1M monthly listeners, but to hear the name of the agency you have to DM him on Reddit. On the surface this sounds like a scam just based on those facts. But the biggest reason this sounds like BS to me is this quote from the OP: "We run TikTok campaigns with our network of influencers that we think will resonate best with the song and create a trend. Our clients approach us with their budget, and we pocket a % of that as our profit and spend the rest on paying influencers." In my experience TikTok influencer campaigns are almost always a waste of time. I've seen so many $5k and $10k influencer campaigns do almost nothing to streaming, and fail to hit a trend. He also claims that major labels don't use Meta ads, but I can factually say they do. I'm running a Meta conversion campaign right now for Warner Music, i've worked with several artists under the Sony umbrella and co-run a label with a former exec from Sony, and have been hired for consulting by a UMG marketer (a guy whose day job it is to promote artists on their label). Is posting content on socials also great? Yes, 100%. Running Meta ads doesn't mean you don't post on socials. You can gain an enormous audience for free on social media in the best case, and in the worst case at least you can build a community and rapport with your existing audience on social media.
@@AndrewSouthworth ok, amazing. i really appreciate you taking the time to answer all of that (and especially debunking the guy himself). all this is a brand new realm for me, and i'm sure that's true for a lot of people. we're truly lucky to have people like you out there willing to help lift the veil on what initially can seem from the outside completely impenetrable. congrats on your major label work, by the way. you deserve it. your information on the subject is so generous and on point. not surprised you do all that high profile work, too.
It sounds like you're using a click campaign, which very rarely ever translates to streams. You need to be using a conversion campaign with a landing page and pixel setup properly. 10k conversions would result in minimum 10k-15k streams typically.

And 35c clicks today.
That's awesome man
How u did that bro I have been trying to do but the process is confusing
@ yeh I know what u mean. I made many mistakes on the way for sure. TBH I’m sure it’s not perfect still.

Thank you for all your advice Andrew! Always so helpful and clearly explained ☺
Thanks, as always
Thanks for this!
could you do a video on "Missing Event Name" . this sometimes comes up on my data sources and im still not sure what it means for my pixel. thanks Andrew!
Hmm I believe I just ignore that event. Haven't seen it cause any issues yet!
Thanks, great explanation. Would be nice to get a Shopify walk-through also for merch, and a Google Ads tutorial for RUclips. Happy holidays!
Is it better to always use the same Pixel/API code or it doesn’t matter if I purchase a new one for each Ad campaign ?
Does Toneden have it?
Unfortunately no.
can you make a vid on optimizing a shopify merch account landing page for conversions on custom audiences?
I just made some new ads yesterday and idk how to view what platforms people are clicking on and ive only got 7 clicks using 3 different pretty good ads and idk why you said do 10$ a day at first like why?
is the token the same for every pixel? 🤔
The token changes every time you generate it, but it is tied to a specific pixel. But you can reuse song after song.
Doesn't work for me. It won't let me click "generate access token"...
That either means you don't have the proper permissions on the business, or you're not using a business account. You need to be using a business portfolio and you have to have the full permissions on the pixel.

I’ve been running ads for a couple years now…and i’m just finding out that I don’t have the business portfolio
I don't think Toneden has it.
Nah ToneDen doesn’t. They’re like the only smart link landing page platform that doesn’t.
its not worked for me FB showed like 10k or 20k of clicks and spotify have had 0
10k or 20k clicks ?
Did you set up an engagement campaign ?
