- Lee wanted to find out if the Adair tracks would out perform his Mud Bug equipped Argo in mud and swamp conditions so he took me to some awful mud areas at Big Creek ATV park Hawkinsville and Creek Bottom, Doles Georgia to see for himself if the tracks would out perform his tires. When the tests were completed Lee was covinced and ordered a set of Adair swimming tracks for himself
I also have a 520 Rubicon 4wheeler and it goes most places half the cost,if I go in the water I use my boat

Yeah guy here in Canada was going to order Adair tracks for me for scout Frontier 700 , price was almost 5000 Canadian dollars insane
Ya but a set of those tracks give the machine about 70 percent more mobility, An Argo without tracks is nice, with Adairs, unstoppable
If you spend the money you will not regret it, look what cost to upgrade a 4x4 to come even close to what an Argo with Adairs will do
Well they should sell the tracks with the argo everything, because let's face it people are byeing the argo on the presence of the argo will go anywhere and that's not true ,and there a ridiculous price

What a good video. Had a Polaris 850 with 30 inch tires and blew the diff. I have since bought a new argo with rubber tracks, havnt tried it yet. You cannot count the amount of quads that will blow axles and diffs or other weak links with those track kits in mud like that. Not just quadmasters but with all quads, they have not built them strong enough yet and even so they will not follow an argo with tracks. Quads have their purpose but keep your stock tires on if you depend on reliability.
Hey Garnett, Lee's Argo was running 25 inch Mud Bugs on 9 inch Mudd Ox rims, those tires will swim about 1 mph but you have to let them paddle, and far as mud performance they out perform every thing but the ASX on an AATV and in some types of mud they out perform the ASX. They are a lot lighter then the ASX. If you can live with the slow swim speed they are an excellent mud tire.

Very good comments. I have also sold my Quads and now just run my very reliable Argo. I don't know how you want to use your Argo, but the rubber tracks are great for snow, if you want to do some serious mudding or swamping I would recommend the Adair tracks, as you can see in this video the rubber tracks on the Vinson are awesome with great ground clearance, but you can see for yourself how fast they glaze over, the Adair tracks clean out and go.
That was a big decision for me whether or not to get the Adair.The rubber tracks as you can see in other vids are just as good in the mud. The rubber will clean out as well, not like the old plastics. The rubber better in snow, that is why I chose them. Also Adair has no side hill traction on a rock. However with the rubber track, when you hit a bump with the edge of the track, the plastic wheel gaurds drive themselves into the tire, tire can break or plastic breaks. There is no perfect track
The tread on his tires should be facing the other way if I'm not mistaken.?
The tires on this Machine are 25 inch Mud Bugs, they are a mud tire and one of the few mud tires that will swim (very slowly) facing forward. They will swim faster backwards.
@@dedwards8708 ah, okay...when I bought my 1993 Argo Conquest the guy who owned it put the ITP MudLite tires on it instead of the Argo swim tires. The MudLite tires are great for everything but swimming. He went cheap on the tires but gave me a 55lb trolling motor to go with it.
The tracks have there good and bad points, they do cost a lot of money, but then so dp big tires, lift kits and all the other things that go with setting up a nice machine.
@MrMrtiki I`ve got a 500 quadmaster froze rear brake pad to drum without knowing snapped the axle so fast .

All good points, depends on what you use them for, for my area and the places I run the Adair tracks are a perfect match for my conditions. Good luck with your machine and the tracks, I hope they bring you the same kind of joy that my machine has brought me.
I'd like to get a set of adair tracks for my argo in the future. I know how capable they are. But in most of this video the guy in the tracks is taking the mud at a decent pace where as the guy with the mud bugs is crawling into the hole.
does not matter, the Adair tracked Argo beat the the Argo with mud bugs under every curcumstance, in every condition
Yeah, I noticed that also. Seemed like he was trying to get stuck. That being said, Dan is correct, tires are no match for tracks in soft terrain. Not even close.
What tires were these Dan & I`m wondering if they`ll fit the old style Argo I might have 1.5 in space above the runamucks now .
Interc Aqua toured will go through...just tire. Look into Beaver Dam Argo sold in US...they sell Escargo tracks...best on the market..
YeahME2Racing hey the escargot are great tracks but the Adair are much better suited to my area, Adair's are lighter and swim better and there is a lot of swamp in my area
dedwards8708 I'M up here in NJ. We have similar conditions. We even get some areas in South Jersey that is all swamp. I have 2 ARGO 8x8 CONQUEST....one with tracks and the other without. Tried a friends with Escargo and was pretty impressed. Got stuck with Adair tracks. Same spot walked through it with Escargo. We need to start posting are trips this year. Thanks for sharing the video.
Whhoaa, time out, the mud bugs are a very good tire and do a lot of things better than any thing in their class. When it comes to tire against tire the Mud Bugs perform very well against everything else in there class.
So, more contact patch is better for mud.

The Vinsons --and Quadmasters are bad for breaking axles one of there downers .
The Argo in Suzuki boat have tracks, Suzuki has higher center gravity in more horsepower why isn't it making it through the hole and the Argo can?
You have to consider the following, the Argo has a smooth bottom and literally floats on mud, the Argo has Adair tracks, they have a space between the grousers for mud to fall through so they clean out, the Suzuki's tracks don't clean out as well and the Suzuki has to drag a arms and suspension through those holes. 95% of the time the Argo will out perform a tracked quad

new they can go for 5500-6500 used and working i have seen ok units for 1200 -the tracks go for 2000.00 new. not unheard of to have 15000 in one of these(top of the line 8x8) i just got started in 6x6 hobby and you can find 40 year old rebuildable machines for 300 bucks but you need to do homework first -6x6 world.com is where to start
