Some programs have a co-op (its like an internship during your studies) During that time you work at a company as part of your program and you need a special study permit that allows that or an extra co op permit.

it should still not be more than 20 hrs. If you work from home on your own business, its probably harder to track though.

If you are in Canada you have to declare all your income on your tax return. However, up to about 12000 CAD are income tax free per year
