My 20 year old son just gaslit me, manipulated me and left me tonight because I finally put some rules and boundaries in place. He told me to consider him dead to me. I have abandonment issues from my childhood and this was a huge trigger for me tonight. Your message was received at 11:11 tonight and I cried hearing it. Amen Rickey Smiley you said a word for this morning there are too many kids out there that didn't have parents that gave their kids everything they needed and work two jobs and and talk them how to go to church and believe in God and to grow up and tell you you didn't do nothing for me I went through that with one or two of my kids but they seem to have come around after the fact when I showed them how I flew and I grew away from them and they came back they came back in tears to realize that I was the best thing that happened to them
Our children cannot make us feel like bad parents. That's a belief inside ourselves. Our wrong behavior is separate from our worth. We can better admit and change our wrongs when we separate them from our value of good or bad. Each person can change this incorrect belief inside ourselves so we can continue to learn and grow and change.
I always say children don't belong too you, they are not yours! U give life too them!! They are their own individual souls!! And they may grow up to be someone that u don't even like!!
And it's usually the parents fault when they turn into monsters. Kids learn by imitation most, but in a lot of cases the child's not even a monster - they just don't want to have anything to do with a parent who mistreated them but won't admit it. My beloved husband Gerald passed away on August 8th of 2022. We were married 27 years and have 7 children. Been lost, stressed, and struggling with my husband not being here. My body is tired and worn down, my heart is heavy, and my spirit is weak and weary. I had to put 2 of my young adult kids out of my house tonight for disrespecting me and cursing me out because they felt that they didn't have to do what I said. If their Dad was still living, all he would have done was stand up and they would have shut up with the quickness. I'm frustrated, grieving my husband Gerald, and still raising 2 that's in school. The Lord answered my prayers when I cried out to Him in my bathroom and removed them both outta my house without the police having to be involved. Lord, thank you for giving me peace in my home tonight. Watch over the 2 that you removed and continue to keep your unchanging hand on me by giving me new breath, strength, mercy, and grace everyday. I agree 100 percent. I only feel for my granddaughter that my 26 yr old is using as a weapon to punish me for the consequences I gave her. These kids are watching videos on Tim too that brainwash them into thinking we are all narcissists. I had a mother that was far from perfect. OMG!!! You must have been reading my mind because I am in that exact situation with my 35 yr old son who i raised as a single mom (his dad passed away when he was 6.of cancer). I worked my tail off, raised him in church around good people and did whayever I could to make sure he had what he wanted and needed. He has just recently had the nerve to tell me of the things i didnt do ( buy him the car HE wanted for graduation...but i saved and got him a car, didn't buy him a paid of Jordan's but he had all the name brand shoes within my budget, let him play football in the 6th grade but i let him play in the 8th grade ans he quit after 3 wks ...etc. I could go on and on and your mouth would drop. These are just a few of the things which is why he says we don't have a good relationship and keeps my 4 g-babies away from me. He uses my gbabies because he knows that hurts me. I strongly believe he is a narcissist and I've just recently (in the last year or so) came to the decision to not allow him to keep hurting me. I know I was a good mother and others would agreed and tell me he was just spoiled and is now acting entitled and I have to pull away. As you said, there are so many kids that love me and I've helped over the years that actually think my son is out of mind. I truly needed to hear this and i will be saving this video. I didn't want to go too deep into my personal story, but having a physically and emotionally abusive mom, who is still very much the same present day, and an absent dad who want nothing to do with me since the day I was born is soul crushing. When the 2 most important people who gave me life treat me like I'm nothing, it's hard to love myself or receive love from others. This was a Word this morning and I felt it was for Me! I'm that woman who is the neighborhood mom, Auntie, etc. I have biological nieces and nephews and two children. I also taught Pre-K so I have a ton of "babies!" And like you said those Other kids certainly Do Appreciate you more than your own seeds. Lord Knows I have done All I can for mine, yet my 24 and almost 18 year old love to make me feel like ish! Despite numerous apologies for not having a guidebook to parenting or having made mistakes. I had to do the same thing last year with my second oldest. It about killed me, but I prayed for him everyday, and my love didn't change, but I had to distance myself. Sometimes, although we don't want to, we have to let them bump their heads. It's like you try and try and pray and pray, and some days, you just feel like you don't have anything left in you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m in my 60s and trying to prepare for retirement which I delayed because I tried to make sure my grown children were good. My grown child that I raised to have his degree from a private college, supported him in every activity he was in during high school, worked two jobs to make sure he and his brothers were good. Bought a vehicle for him when he was in the 10th grade so he could get back and forth from football practice. Then bought another one when he wrecked it in college while I took a smaller vehicle. I went without air and heat to make sure he had his utilities at college. Made sure he was in church every week. And this week he tells me he never felt cared for. That I didn’t parent him right that’s why he went to drugs and got in trouble. That the material things are not important. I helped this child move his furniture into a 3rd floor apartment without an elevator until I made myself sick. I’m heart broken and lost today. I have sat in the blistering cold and rain to support him in football and he says he didn’t feel cared for. He is now working in his field that he went to school for, but in his eyes the sacrifices I made wasn’t important because they were material. I don’t get it.

I promise I am freeing myself. I told my Aunt that 2022 was gonna be the year of "I can show you better than I can tell you" for my kids. I'll be damned if they have not shown their whole ass in these first 5 months. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! They have not known a struggle, I keep good people around me and in their lives, they make the most ridiculous choices and have to come to me for help. And yet, no respect. Also, you don't have to be cussed out to be disrespected. Their actions are disrespectful. My children have never seen me disrespected by anyone, I never even kept drama around them to experience but yet, here they come bringing it to my doorstep. I am practicing praying more and saying less. At this moment I am fish grease hot and brokenhearted, but I know I've done my best. I know I have done my best and it was a phenomenal effort. Her father didn’t help me. I had to tell her she has to go in 30 days. Be an adult. Get a job. Get your own place. I’m done with the disrespect. OMG!!! You must have been reading my mind because I am in that exact situation with my 35 yr old son who i raised as a single mom (his dad passed away when he was 6.of cancer). I worked my tail off, raised him in church around good people and did whayever I could to make sure he had what he wanted and needed. He has just recently had the nerve to tell me of the things i didnt do ( buy him the car HE wanted for graduation...but i saved and got him a car, didn't buy him a paid of Jordan's but he had all the name brand shoes within my budget, let him play football in the 6th grade but i let him play in the 8th grade ans he quit after 3 wks ...etc. I could go on and on and your mouth would drop. These are just a few of the things which is why he says we don't have a good relationship and keeps my 4 g-babies away from me. He uses my gbabies because he knows that hurts me. I strongly believe he is a narcissist and I've just recently (in the last year or so) came to the decision to not allow him to keep hurting me. I know I was a good mother and others would agreed and tell me he was just spoiled and is now acting entitled and I have to pull away. As you said, there are so many kids that love me and I've helped over the years that actually think my son is out of mind. I truly needed to hear this and i will be saving this video. Good luck, I'm finally done, all three are OUT of my 🏠 I only got to worry about wanda no one else. Only problem is I don't have a car, my daughter reached it . But she did give me 3 thousand dollars 💸, and no money. So I haven't started to have any fun yet beind a empty nester.

Thank you Ricky. My kids, especially my daughter, has done this to me. She was the one that gave me the most problems when I was raising her. OMG, the things I went through with her. God knows I did my best and I tried my hardest to get her the help she needed and YET she still makes me look like the bad parent. So thank you for this. I AM FREE!!!
I agree with Ricky, I'm taking care of my children for a life time. I sent my children to private schools for the best education. Now they both doing well. Whatever way the chose to live it will be without my money. We all imperfect and we all didn't asked to come here either. Ricky I'm thankful to God they turned out okay.

PRAISE THE LORD 🙏 thank you for the word of encouragement because I truly am experiencing this with my own kids. I thank God for the word this morning because I was feeling a little down about it. But Glory be to GOD for sending a word to let me know it is okay and I do not have to feel any way because my own kids do not appreciate me and the sacrifices that I made for them.

Thank you, Rickey! It amazes me that there are so many parents out here who are going through situations like this with their grown children. It's like you try and try and pray and pray, and some days, you just feel like you don't have anything left in you. No one expects their children to grow up and make all these bad decisions, even after you have warned them, pleaded with them until you're blue in the face. We all want what's best for our children, and it is like they know, but they fight against it.

Rickey you preached a sermon this morning, all I got to say about this is Amen.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m in my 60s and trying to prepare for retirement which I delayed because I tried to make sure my grown children were good. My grown child that I raised to have his degree from a private college, supported him in every activity he was in during high school, worked two jobs to make sure he and his brothers were good. Bought a vehicle for him when he was in the 10th grade so he could get back and forth from football practice. Then bought another one when he wrecked it in college while I took a smaller vehicle. I went without air and heat to make sure he had his utilities at college. Made sure he was in church every week. And this week he tells me he never felt cared for. That I didn’t parent him right that’s why he went to drugs and got in trouble. That the material things are not important. I helped this child move his furniture into a 3rd floor apartment without an elevator until I made myself sick. I’m heart broken and lost today. I have sat in the blistering cold and rain to support him in football and he says he didn’t feel cared for. He is now working in his field that he went to school for, but in his eyes the sacrifices I made wasn’t important because they were material. I don’t get it.

I promise I am freeing myself. I told my Aunt that 2022 was gonna be the year of "I can show you better than I can tell you" for my kids. I'll be damned if they have not shown their whole ass in these first 5 months. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! They have not known a struggle, I keep good people around me and in their lives, they make the most ridiculous choices and have to come to me for help. And yet, no respect. Also, you don't have to be cussed out to be disrespected. Their actions are disrespectful. My children have never seen me disrespected by anyone, I never even kept drama around them to experience but yet, here they come bringing it to my doorstep. I am practicing praying more and saying less. At this moment I am fish grease hot and brokenhearted, but I know I've done my best. I know I have done my best and it was a phenomenal effort. I thank God for the strength.

Thank you Rickey I really need this cause my 24 year old try to make me feel less than when all I did was been there for him put clothes on his back made sure he had breakfast lunch and dinner every day took my school money and got him a car paid for the car to get registered his step father paid for insurance but to him we did nothing for him and that hurts and still living in my house paying no rent no light no gas
