Same with television. I was thinking about all these reality tv shows, like I'm a celebrity... my mom is constantly complaining that TV is overrun by shows like that nowadays, and how stupid they are - yet she keeps having them on, as background noise, trying to justify it with the fact that she is not actively watching. I don't know how many times I told her that it doesn't matter, because she is part of the people that tune in to these programs, building up viewer numbers, which leads to more and more of these shows being produced because of how high the viewer numbers are.
It's not just the price increase, it's the shrinking sizes of products as companies squeeze even more profit out of us, smaller sizes/amounts, same price as before but for less product!!! It's obscene.
I always bitch about public transport but I'm glad I don't have a car, I wouldn't know where to get 1000 pounds for a repair. Recently got a bus pass that gives me free bus and train travel in my province
@@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai Busses were cheaper in the UK, not sure if they still are. Long time ago you could get a Rover ticket for 5 pounds and it took you everywhere 😁(quite a long time ago) I think they were only valid in Wales and Scotland
The new Government have just put up the 'cap' on bus prices from £2 to £3 - if you use the buses to get to work, your transport has just gone from £20 to £30 - yet another indirect tax on the workers. I can go anywhere with my bus pass but can't start until 09:30 and they go all around the houses so going any distance could take all day with many changes and waiting around. I don't remember the last time I used a train - far too expensive.

Inflation is only a measure between 2 time points if that 1st point was already high to start off. The initial inflation point was already high. When you say most people don't steal old cars you'd be surprised! I had an old Austin Maestro nicked and the ignition lock smashed off of it. I do agree with stopping illegal migrants though. But a system that allows a convicted felon to be in charge and then do away with outstanding court cases is just not right.

One problem is that they make cars too complicated, so the whole thing has to be taken apart to fix anything. This increases labor costs.

Smaller companies make enough to be comfortable - larger companies are driven by shareholders who only care about profit driven by greed.

A bus journey now and then here is a cheap way to travel but all trains are expensive and no free travel.
