    I don’t want to say you fellas make it look easy because that suggests anyone can do this. I don’t want to say you make it look hard because that suggests you guys aren’t on top of things . You guys show us that it looks like you have the skills the talent and the knowledge. This is not the first time I’ve left a comment on one of your videos and not the first time I’ve loved what I’m seeing.

    Best in the business them Brockstone reds. Unrivalled workmanship anywhere. Never seen anyone turn out the quality of work they do. Dirk ‘Kev’ Kuyt on the mixer, the mans a machine. And the Marauding midfield maestro Javier ‘Craig’ Masharano smashing the digger and the nail gun. What a crew! Of course led by the skipper. Loving this job boys.

    A few years ago I commissioned the construction of a large terrace made of a very similar material (thick, frost-resistant terracotta glazed in a matte finish with a delicate texture - supposedly anti-slip). I commissioned it, the terrace was built an I curse this idea every winter.
    To this day, the balance of this terrace is: one knee treated surgically, one broken arm, three dislocated fingers. I'm not counting the bumps and bruises...
    Although looking through the window from the living room it still looks nice... So what if no one dares to walk on it in the winter? An invisible layer of thin ice or a thin layer of snow (literally a few flakes!) is enough for the terrace to turn into a very dangerous trap

    • @Brockstonepavingpros
      @Brockstonepavingpros  2 месяца назад

      If something freezes with ice it’s gonna be slippy no matter what the texture.
      This is skip resistant R11 and up to British Standards

    • @andrzej3511
      @andrzej3511 2 месяца назад

      @@Brockstonepavingpros Personally, I am very skeptical about the "miraculous" properties of any materials compliant with the R11 standard and British standards in Polish conditions. The Polish specificity is that for the lion's share of winter, the temperature of roads, pavements, terraces and similar surfaces rises clearly above zero degrees Celsius under the influence of the sun. When the sun stops directly operete, the temperature drops below zero degrees Celsius and any bit of moisture that does not have time to evaporate freezes. If the surface is porous or rough enough (cement slabs, granite paving stones, asphalt), nothing bad happens - the surface is not to become slippery. However, impermeable surfaces, especially glazed or polished stoneware, are asking for serious trouble.
      I am not criticizing, I am only suggesting that you be extremely careful when using such materials. Because standards are standards and sometimes it will be the case that conditions similar to Polish ones will occur on the Islands and a visit to the hospital with an orthopedist will certain... Can you guarantee it never happens?
      I wouldn't be talking smart if I hadn't checked things out thoroughly. There is a research center in Poland called the Building Technology Institute (Polish acronym ITB). There, not only was the mechanism of the phenomenon explained to me in detail, but it was also demonstrated in a climate chamber how such icing occurs.
      I also learned three things: 1. in Poland, there is a strict ban on the use of glazed and polished surfaces in places designated for traffic routes, sidewalks, and even in places where it can be foreseen that someone (children?) may walk, 2. unfortunately, in Poland there is no regulation prohibiting the use of similar materials on private properties, 3. there is no effective way to prevent icing apart from an underground heating system - a terribly expensive and unprofitable solution.
      I will add that from myself: all assurances from manufacturers about compliance with standards and having "miraculous" properties that they simply cannot have - such as resistance to icing, for example - are completely worthless.
      I’m seriously considering throwing out the beautiful terracotta patio tiles and replacing them with classic granite cubes next summer. Because now I have a nice big terrace, but as if I didn't... Mistakes must be paid for. Since no irreversible accident has happened yet, and I don't want to tempt evil fate... I've had enough of the warning signals.

      @@BBirke1337 Close, but no they're called "White Ants" they eat timber in Australia if you have it in contact with the ground. From Google " Termites are social insects that build large nests in soil or wood and can occasionally cause damage to wooden structures. They are sometimes called 'white ants', however they belong to a completely different insect group (Order Isoptera) to true ants (Order Hymenoptera)."

      It’s more semi dry / moist.
      5/1 grit sand to cement 👍🏼

      Matty what makes you choose either semi dry mix or full wet mix? I'm sure I've seen you lay these flags using both and just interested to know what makes you go with one over the other? Incredible work as always btw! @@Brockstonepavingpros

    Me encantan sus trabajos, le sigo hace tiempo. Es usted muy bueno también, en la edición de sus vídeos.
    El único fallo que le pongo, es la música. La música es siempre malísima.
