What animal should be the next villian?? I think we are due for a cool Rhino character who can go head-to-head with Poe.

Personally, I'd love to see a bat in the franchise for once, but I think the next villain will be... a panda. Po's already mastered body, mind, and spirit which he did by facing Tai Lung, Shen, and Kai, respectively. It only makes sense that he would have to face a villain who imbodies all three someday. What's left for him, but to face himself?

Okay so with the Oogway/Kai story, it is heavily implied that it was actually Oogway that changed, not Kai. I mean, they were both basically warlords. The pandas showed Oogway the value of peace and healing. He had a change of heart. Before that, they were BOTH greedy and Kai was not expecting Oogway to turn against him now.

I never thought about it this way before but Po’s first opponent was physical (Ti-lung), his second was mental (Shen), and his third was spiritual (Kai)

This, and you can also notice the first movie was about Shifu's past, the second about Po's past, and the third about Oogway's past.
Here are some Fun facts there was originally going to have po's mother alive in the movie but they scrap the idea and as for the wuxi finger hold it was confirmed that po actually created the move and before it was just a made up saying to teach kung fu students to not misbehave which was actually really awesome to know.

I'm glad they didn't have the mother alive. It would've taken away from the impact of the flashback in 2. The dad coming back is one thing because that film already showed it but having both parents back would've been worse

Fun Fact: Kai's Theme actually does use the melody (the last part) from I'm So Sorry, Hans Zimmer(composer for the film) and Mac Reynolds were actually best friends when they were making Kai's Theme so Imagine Dragon did get credit for it
Interesting point that Kai never uses Oogway. The easy explanation is that he cared for him too much to use him in that way.
I always thought he needed Oogway to reach the mortal realm, so I assumed him not using Oogway was cause he needed him around his neck to remain in the mortal realm.
I saw it also as more taunting. Oogway had to watch Kai use his students to attack others. It would have also taken away the impact if Oogway was just another jambie
1.Honestly, I feel the silliness kind of takes away from the serious nature of the story. Yeah, the first 2 had tons of humor but they balanced it well with really dark moments that were played straight.
2. Notice how each movie of the trilogy had Po master one aspect of him being the Dragon Warrior:
1st Movie - *The Body*
2nd Movie - *The Mind*
3rd Movie - *The Spirit*
They even showcase it in how he progresses as a martial artist.
Going from a student to a master in his own right to a teacher in his own right.
3. Overall, despite this movie's flaws it was still really solid. And if The Last Wish is any indication, Kung Fu Panda 4 is going to be *really good* as well.
This was my issue with all of them. How they going to show Po paint this dragon to immediately start dancing.
@Lee Brown Understandable….yet still annoying. Puss and Boots the Last Wish was amazing because they got rid of the comedy in those moments. Like the first time we meet Death.

@@pogofgreed3707 not every movie needs to make you feel like something is at stake by using seriousness. For some people IRL keeping it light hearted, laughing is a way to cope with the stress. I am glad that they kept it in the 3rd one. It would've been out of character for Po to be suddenly all serious.

My favourite detail in this movie is seeing how far Po has come. Last movie, he needed someone to catch him when he’s falling. But now he’s jumping to great heights and is able to stick the landing.
I know a lot of people consider this movie the weakest of the trilogy, but it's my favorite after the second one. J.K. Simmons is incredible as General Kai and his villain theme goes so hard. I love Po's struggle to become a teacher and master chi, and I love how well his biological and adoptive fathers eventually get along so well. That thing Mr. Ping said about how we sometimes "do the wrong things for the right reasons" has always stuck with me.

By points of love, Kung Fu Panda 2 was 100 for me,then 1 is 100 again but I'd count it as second and third is 99,
I'm not saying it's extremely bad,it's just my least favourite of the 3,but anyway, extremely agree,Kai has one of the all time favourite character theme till this day hahahaha

I think it's a great movie but it upsets me because it had so much potential to be better than it is
It's def the weakest one. The style change wasn't nessesary. Poe feels like he has gone backwards instead of forwards since the last movie. Like he hasn't learned anything. Masters get defeated wayy too easily. The whole village being able to learn kungfu in couple hours... like what? And Kai could have been an amazing villan but that was destroyed by throwing jokes at the audience everytime he is on screen.
Overall the silliness takes away a lot from this movie. The previous ones also had jokes but they were just done better.
Also I feel like they focused on the pandas way too much. I would prefear more interactions with the 5.
@Lee Brown that is just not true. Even kids enjoy sillines if it's done right. That's why this movie is considered to be the weekest one even by kids.
The previous movies were not "serious" they still had a lot of humour but they knwe how and when to do it.
"...doesn't mean less for me. It means more for Po" is one of my favorite moments in this movie. As someone whose parents divorced when I was around 10 or so, and having gained an amazing stepmom and stepdad, the moment hits close to home.

Fun fact: Kai actually encountered Tai Lung in the Spirit Realm, managed to defeat him, and captured his Chi. The reason Kai didn't release him during the fight was because he's saving the best warrior to fight for him, or rather Kai's using Tai Lung's strong amount of Chi to keep him strong too.
FINALLY! Someone who truly understand why Kai didnt use Tai Lung rather than saying Tai Lung is too weak to be a jombie. Like bro why would they even say that?

Everything also comes full circle also in both movies as well.
Movie 1- Oogway turns down Tai Lung due to seeing a reflection his younger self and his friend Kai acting the same: power hungry with ferocity. And having Po land in front him and his connection to Pandas in the past, he knew that Po would be the right choice.
Movie 2- Lord Shen not only feared the prophecy of a warrior in black and white, but he might've heard from his noble parents about mystic pandas that were unstoppable, which is why he acted extra rash to any in his domain.
20:31 The voice actress for Lei Lei, the little baby girl panda who keeps Po's action figure of Tigress, is one of Angelina Jolie's daughters! Which is really sweet because Angelina herself voices Tigress; and Tigress and Lei Lei formed a really cute bond you can see from the second Lei Lei sees the life-size Tigress.
when Po has "that moment" in the Spirit Realm and he finally KNOWs who he is, was so worth the build up from the whole trilogy!
Extra Fact: it's not immediately noticeable, but at 28:07 there's a second or two where you can actually see Tai Lung's chi in Kai's chains, which would mean that Tai Lung and Kai probably fought in the Spirit Realm during the 2nd movie
If you’re gonna watch a kung fu panda series, do “Legends of Awesomness” bc it’s actually good and delves more into everyone’s backstory and has lore such as “the strongest of the furious 5 always turns evil” and we meet tai lung’s nephew and shi fu’s father

We can see Kai from a painting in the temple in the first movie. I love how they had something planned all along.
I was searching about Kung Fu Panda 4 and read an article on how they already planned everything! As a matter of fact, they also stated Kung Fu Panda has six chapters.

@@RetroGamingSweden Maybe, but everything is so well thought out, that i wouldnt be surprised if they already planned Oogways backstory way before the third movie. They already had a plan for Po's flashback for the second. Also, the ending of the 3rd movie nicely makes everything fit together. That needs planning.

@@RetroGamingSweden Just for your information, the Ox and the Turtle is a known tale. They could have gone with any other animals for the third, but they already chose the Ox. They knew about that tale and made a story with that since movie one. That's planning. Have you ever tried to wrote a script or a book? You can't just write the first 250 words and just wing it. They left a lot out after the first movie, Po's past, the spirit realm and how Po learn the pinky finger. None of that was explained. Do you think they just didnt think about that at first and just made up all that stuff on the go to fill up the second and third movie? It's not fast and furious.
My only real problem with this movie si that they focus too much on the other pandas. I would have preferred them to have kept that tk a minimum and maybe focused on Po and tigress some more

Ke Huy Quan (aka Short Round and Data) should voice one of the supporting characters in Kung Fu Panda 4.
This movie is by far the funniest of the trilogy, with 2 being the darkest and the 1st being a mix of dark themes and situations with funny moments. And I think what makes some people not like it as much is exactly that. If the first movie is a mix and the second one has a lot of heaviness (which makes the payoff more satisfying), the third one should be that taken to a whole new level. And if you think of it plot-wise, it is: even Shifu and Oogway lose to Kai. Every master everywhere loses to him. He IS strong and dangerous. He IS a big threat. But while the stakes are high, the movie still manages to crack jokes all of the time, even when I personally feel like it shouldn't.
In the first one, when Tai Lung defeats the 5 and then almost kills Shifu, it is treated seriously, despite being a funny movie at its core. The scenes are heavy. In the 2nd one, when Po almost loses to Lord Sheng, it is always treated as something serious and heavy. In this one, even 4 of the Furious 5 + Shifu being defeated isn't treated seriously. The battle in the spirit realm at first, when Po is losing and people believe he died, it's not as heavy as any of the scenes I've mentioned. So it feels less dramatic and impactful than it should.
I've heard that they were told to make a lighter movie after the 2nd one though, so I believe that's a bit of what happened. Nonetheless, it's a great movie and ties the trilogy of body, mind and soul perfectly.
I loved and really enjoyed Kung Fu Panda 3😁🔥. I liked the idea of Chi in this film. It was great to see how Po finally discovered what does it mean to be a ‘Dragon Warrior’ and a Panda. JK Simmons did a great job playing the antagonist ‘Kai’ as I loved the way he used his blades🔥🤩. Loved your analysis, take care and have a good one♥️
I love the color change they had in this movie, the first movie had a thing with red the second had red but more pink, and then this was green.
Kung Fu Panda 4 was confirmed guys, I'm excited.
The Legends of Awesomeness TV show was able to get Lucy Lu and James Hong to come back as Viper and Mr. Ping (goose dad). and since the show had a smaller focus Mr. Ping gets a lot of story and character beats. The inconceivable Wallace Shawn plays a fun recurring villain.
I like that the shot at 5:57 mirrors Po crawling on the floor towards Shifu and the Five in the first movie after his first kung fu training
Well never knew Po's real father was voiced by Mr. White himself.
Kai’s backstory was so beautiful. On one hand, you have the tortoise who wanted to fight for the justice of the people who saved him and on the other, the bull who had to take chi to protect him out of paranoia.
I can understand the frustrations that fans had with the third film and being a giant step backward than it's predecessor, but it's by no means a bad film, far from it.
I am looking forward to Kung Fu Panda 4 coming out Next year in March 2024, so looking forward to your reaction to it James and Nobu.
I think Kai is the best part of KFP3 because he seems like the most threatening out of all the other KFP villains
Cool thing is, no one realises how smart Kai is. He invented the pattern of stealing chi, by reversing the pattern of giving, fricking genius. Also, he doesn't use Kung Fu since Oogway created it after he banished Kai. He knew what the Jade Palace was because of Shifu. He outsmarted not only Crane, but Shifu himself by making him send Crane to him to analyse SHIFU'S connection to Oogway. Using that, he took down Shifu who didn't realise it until it was too late. Not to forget leading an army with Oogway, which requires an above-average intelligence at least. Why is this important? It is a theme for the films, one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it. Shifu only got outsmarted because he sent Crane.
This was a bit weaker than the first two. The villain was a downgrade compared to Lord Shen, the stakes weren’t as dramatic as the second film, and it kinda leaned hard into the silliness. But even the weakest of the three films is still great! I’m hyped for Kung Fu Panda 4 next March!
The fourth film should try something new with Po's journey. Apparently the series was aiming for six films, with the first three with him as a student and the next three as the master/teacher. That could be super cool for him to explore.
I wish they bring Tai Lung back. Now that Po can come and go from the spirit realm freely, he can hook up with our favorite snow leopard for some enemies to friends type of action.
@@MegaMilenche your wish came true also i agree with the comment on top that the fourth film is weak cause it didn't had the furious five because the whole plot of the movie is change and po is not the dragon warrior anymore he is the teacher and the spiritual leader like it's name applied he does things spiritually by giving wisdom so the next two films of the trilogy will be about zhen be the protagonist po will appear but he will be the teacher and as the last scene implied the furious five will return and be allies to Zhen cause they were always with the dragon warrior and zhen and the five are their job to protect the valley not po ,also the first movie was mostly comedic because they ruined the moment were mr ping seemed to tell po that he was adopter but he did in the second film which was better than the first so it makes sense the third and fourth are weak cause they are the middle of the whole two trilogies that's also why in the third movie it made references only in the first film but not the part were the peach tree grew cause it's the end of the first trilogy but the middle of the whole story but they made the reference in the fourth cause it's the beginning of the second trilogy

people who freeze frame this movie say that Kai has a jade chi token of a snow leopard on his belt, so he found and captured Tai Lung in the spirit realm.
Fu fact: if you look closely at his belt of amulets, you’ll see that Kai also captured Tai Lung in the Spirit Realm.
Also I don't think he could use jade Oogway cause he could have possibly broken free so he kept him as the necklace to be on the safe side
This film was my first KFP experience on the big screen. KFP3 is a great follow up to the franchise. I do think it is outshined by its predecessors, but it still stands out as a great film. Oogway being featured in this film was awesome, Kai being a very good villain, and Po achieving a greater rank as a kung fu warrior; those are what I love about KFP3. Thanks for covering this Dreamworks film, very enjoyable!

A fantastic fact: Kung Fa Panda 4 is coming out march 4th 2024 and is officially the final Chapter for Po's story. The plot DreamWorks posted sounds amazing its that theres a new villan which is a chameleon Lizard which brings back all 3 villans from 1-3 and Po is alot older and is handing his master spot to a new upcoming sidekick. And this will be the final Kung Fu Panda movie according to DreamWorks

I like that the 3 movies follow the path of the soul. Movie 1 was body, movie 2 was mind and movie 3 is spirit
Mads Mikkelsen was set to be the voice of Kai before JK Simmons replaced him, thus his character was entirely rewritten. But can you imagine if Mads wasn't replaced as Kai we would've been hearing Grindlewald and Hanibal Lecter coming out of him.
In addition, Mei Mei was originally set to be voiced by Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Bride's Maid) before Kate Hudson replaced her, due to an extended production schedule, thus many of Mei Mei's scenes were reanimated to reflect Hudson's interpretation.
Wait were they gonna cast mads mikkelsen as kai i thought jk simmons was the only actor who additioned
JK simmons is so good in anything he does 🤧✨
Dreamworks forced the director to tone down the seriousness of the movie because a Lot of parents complaint that the second one was too Dark for a children movie, si she was forced to make this more comedic again

There is a show, not Netflix called, “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness,” which is just as good as movies 1 and 2!!!

Fun Fact: The Wuxi finger hold move was never real it was just a bluff that Shi Fu used to mess around with students, Po created the real one unknowingly just because he believed in what could it supposedly do, which was the proof he already was THE dragon warrior.
You _do_ realize that Kai knows about the Wuxi Finger Hold, and how it only works on mortals, right? It's been around longer than Kai. It's also how Oogway sent mortal Kai to the Spirit Realm in the first place.
It also implies that once you're sent to the Spirit Realm, you're technically no longer mortal....

When this came out and introduced chi, that's when I realized the first movie where Oogway defeated tai lung, I was questioning why his is different. You can really tell that future movies for kung fu panda are already planned.
I think because the kung fu panda 2 was too dark, that's why they tone it down with this one. Wonder what's going to happen with the 4th one.

Guys please react Nezha Birth of demon child (2019). It's an animated movie made by Chinese studios. The director took Chinese myth of Nezha and turned it into a modern story about 2 young man fighting against their own fates. it has been one of the biggest commercial successes in Chinese cinema. It has great animation and humor, you guys are gonna love it!

You guys caught on to Kai's theme being "I'm so sorry" by Imagine Dragons. Not many reactors could get it.
I watched the series when it was on TV and enjoyed it. I think the series is supposed to happen between the first and second movies. There's no overall plot arc, but you get a lot of development of relationships among the characters and background on some of their histories, with new villains / problems each episode. The animation is a level down, so things like Po's fur aren't as detailed as in the movies.
