I would love to see when you get your big meat order in, what you get, how you store it. Freezer organization, things like that. Thanks for sharing your day and your meals, love it!! ☀️☀️☀️
I also love garlic and onion in my food. My mother in law taught me to chop up onion and garlic in one of those small food choppers add a little salt and keep it in the fridge for a few days, just take it from there as you go. Makes my life easier since we add it to pretty much every meal.
We had 6 kids when I was growing up. My mom also made meals instead of cereal, pop tarts or even sandwiches for meals. Filled us up at mealtime because if did not we would be back 2 hours later hungry. Cheaper and better to just fill us up at mealtime. We lived on a farm and all worked outside or with housework so burned those calories!
So beautiful to see how gracefully and peacefully you go through your day. With a big family your day truly does revolve around the kitchen. How do you fit in homeschool? Also, you really get me hook, line, and sinker. I kept trying to find out why your husband and sisters think your crazy… bc you don’t drink coffee 😆
It didn’t take long, you had this Texas girl with sausage and gravy biscuits. Been watching your sister Lisa for a while and she mentioned you had a channel also…so yay! looking forward to your content😊
Came back to say that I tried your biscuits and they are delicious. And so easy ! I will definitely make them regularly. I didn’t even bother cutting them out into circles . I simply made the dough into a pie shape and cut them into triangles. Thanks for the great recipe .
Inspiring video! Love all your recipe ideas. Just wondering, one day when you build your home what would be your must have's in a kitchen....will you have an island, a big open kitchen....you do so much cooking I imagine you have lots of ideas in your head. Thank you for a lovely video!
I think people forget that “easy” is a relative term. Boxed foods might be easier for some, while whipping up a quick meal is easier for others. When you’ve got a good amount of simple recipes mastered, it doesn’t really take long to pull them together. Thanks for sharing!
You are so right about making a meal being easier in some ways than convenience foods with a big family, and mine isn't nearly as big as yours. It also creates a lot less trash to cook from scratch. I live in the country and don't have trash service so we have to take ours to the dump ourselves. It makes you really notice how much useless packaging comes with the food. The boxes and inner bags for cereal and pop tarts, etc... would add up in my trash super fast. The wrapper from a pound of sausage, not so much. The flour bag holds several meals worth of flour in one bag. Same for the milk. Using produce has no trash since any scraps go to my chickens.
Making food from scratch is so much healthier! No chemicals or preservatives. To use sustainably sourced food is dense and intense with nutrition. NO JUNK!!! 💚💚💚
I only drink decaf coffee and have started using Mt. Hagan instant decaf. Its amazing. Its freeze dried, not chemically processed. I love it. Makes great coffee fast!
I use tomato paste, brown sugar and Worcester sauce to top my meatloaf. It's so tangy, thick, and delicious! I love watching you cook. Helps me with meal ideas. If you try the topping let me know if you like it! Thank you for your wholesome content. May God Bless you and your family.
I’m a devoted viewer; your homemaking skills are inspiring. I know you’re pressed for time, but more specific details for your recipes would really be helpful for me. For example, I’m not really certain how to specifically recreate your meatloaf or the ground beef with vegetables and cheese sauce. (I admit, I’m a bit of a novice cook.) Thanks for all your fantastic videos!
Laura I love your videos! The recipes are so inspiring. Can you please tell me what baby carrier you are wearing? I saw another mom wearing it with the back straps crossed, because you can detach each strap with the clasp. Thank you to anyone who knows. :)
I am from Australia and we don’t have biscuits and gravy here so I find it interesting. We have biscuits but you guys call them cookies. We also have scones which I thinking is your biscuit. We normally have scones, sweet with jam an cream or you can make savoury ones too with veggies but I have never seen anything that resembles biscuit an gravy but do see it a lot on American utube. I might try and make it and see what we think 😊
Scones are different then biscuits. Scones have sugar in them and biscuits do not. I hope you try them. I have family in Scotland so understand about your yummy "biscuit" cookies!
My crew doesn’t get full off of boxed stuff! I see moods change when we do enjoy moments of “boxed treats” kinda hangry kids lol Real food happy kids ❤
We are headed to go camping up in the Sierra National Forest. It’s lots of work, but a great way to unplug ( no, cell service ) Biscuits and Gravy are up on the menu.🫶🏻☺️ Your food always looks amazing, Laura.👌🏻
Haha, I remember the days of washing ANYTHING from my lower cupboards before using because my littles thought they were the best toys...and I put a lot of time in the kitchen, so they played while I cooked.
My much younger brother would always use the stainless steel pots as drums and then go at it with the wooden spoons. He'd sit on the kitchen floor while we were cooking or trying to have a conversation.
I am with you on the garlic! I read a recipe that says two cloves of garlic and I'm like, "yeah, that's not nearly enough garlic!" Then I add like 6 cloves! 😅 My favorite meals are the ones when I walk away with garlic smell on my fingers! ❤
Easy meals for smaller families are definitely not easy for larger families. I agree with cooking a meal is easier, less expensive and more filling for my family than the usual boxed stuff.
I still always order biscuits & gravy if we ever go out to eat somewhere, which is rare, but it's the ultimate comfort food breakfast, for sure. Nothing beats homemade though, and your's looked so scrumptious! I've got a bunch of ground venison thawed, and wasn't quite sure what I was gonna make today. Maybe meatloaf is calling my name! 😊 Happy Friday!
Thank you! My son was recently diagnosed with a very bad case of Lyme disease and has been in and out of the hospital. The antibiotics he has to take are very, very intense and I’ve been looking into a good probiotic for kids he can start soon, it looks like Hiya has one.
Laura you cook scrumptious food your family is lucky mmm we don’t have the biscuits and gravy I would love to make it - always look forward to your videos ❤
In breakfast sausage I skip onions and garlic. In general if they say 3 cloves I am with you…add 9 or 10. Nice you have your parents so close. No coffee for me either. Where are your kids? Can you tell m about why you wear a long skirt. Modest, comfort…😊
I make sausage gravy for my family but my korean husband eats his over brown rice! Bread hurts his tummy. I thought it was so funny at first but totally normal to me now.
I would love to see your meat orders. The diff Cuts and kinds you get. Your meals today look so good. Your dress was beautiful. Ty so much for sharing with us.
I love this! The tea looks and sounds AMAZING! I'll have to try that out soon!! Also- I noticed you fed your chicken potato skins?? We have chickens but I heard they are toxic to them?! Are they not!?! I would be happy to toss them to our flock if they indeed are safe!
I don’t drink coffee either, I always say I’m not an adult yet because I don’t drink coffee…to me it’s a catfish! It smells divine but doesn’t taste divine lol.
I'm a Mama of 5 and the reality is making homemade food is essential for us to afford to feed us all! I'm no where near as "homemade" as you are, but eating at home and like today for lunch we did bean burrito wraps. I made them not the frozen kind. And yep I know it's A LOT healthier then the alternative of eating out and convenience food. I do convenience food sometimes for a "treat" but it's not their everyday! LORD JESUS is KING of kings and LORD of lords!
Also those who are judging for paper towels better be using cloth wipes instead of toilet paper 😂 cause what’s the difference?! Lol. Trees are a plant like the food we eat people. They can grow and be planted.
I remember when I found your channel, I thought you were ‘copy catting’ Lisa. I thought we’ll she is even stealing her tone of voice, not sure how I found out you were sisters but I did.
I understand aprons protect your clothes, but if you wear it all day why not just have clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty? Asking really out of curiosity😊
To prevent the inner clothes from dust, dirt, spills, and debris during cooking, serving, cleaning, or performing creative tasks. They are also used for wiping your hands on as you prepare things.
Aprons are generally made out of sturdier fabric that can handle weekly laundering. And it's easy to remove a floury apron if company stops by or if I have to run an errand.
I don't worry about staining them as much because I don't wear them out of the house. Plus, I use them to wipe/dry my hands on while cooking. And I love the big deep pockets!
I eat a clean diet but don't like milk and cheese, don't you find your food is so greasey when using so much cheese in cooking? I couldn't help but notice it in the bottom of your last dish.
I would love to see when you get your big meat order in, what you get, how you store it. Freezer organization, things like that. Thanks for sharing your day and your meals, love it!! ☀️☀️☀️

You make my heart sing! Thank you for making motherhood appealing... 39 years for me and I wouldn't trade these days for anything!
I always add garlic and onions to everything I make. I can't get enough!!!
Homemade food is almost always healthier, cheaper and more delicious. I love how you share your meals.
I always cook as I clean as well. I am one of 12, but I can't even imagine having 6. I have 2 kids who are grown, and that was enough for me!!
I love how you embrace your kitchen. The kitchen reflects the heart of a person. You are truly blessed.
Thank you so much! 😊
I love coffee and tea. I have also had mornings that I don't have time to make either one.

What a joy you are to watch.

My mom use to make a similar casserole but she added peas to it and a red sauce. I loved it and wax always a favorite.

Awww so sorry to hear that!!
Enjoy your videos so much! Do you have recipes for the meatloaf & casserole?
I just made those up as I went 😆
@@ouroilyhouse ok! That's fine😄 I often do a soup similar to the casserole. I can try to "wing it" and see how a casserole turns out! Thanks!
I switched to decaf last year, and I love not being dependent on caffeine for energy! Loved this video and the meal ideas.
Also not a coffee drinker ♥️ I don't like it at all 😬. Your channel is so sweet - thanks for sharing!!
Okay babe, safe trip and love you❤
