I found that after three months of daily use, average four litres per day, the Katadyn slowed down to a suffering point. Vinegar treatment didn't really help. I think much depends on what kind of water one is filtering. Currently I use Grayl for the security but I'm eyeing Hydrapak's own version for the convenience and for comparison. Tip: If you pre-wet the filter it works better. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for watching my video and for your story. A friend of mine also didn't have much luck with the filter, and she replaced it every three months or so. I'm not sure why mine seems to be fine, still. My water source has always been quite good, and I clean it out often by shaking the water in the flask.
You are welcome. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you have any questions. My filter is over 5 years old now, and it FINALLY started to slow down on my last trip just a week or two ago. It's time to replace it :)
Hi Lisa, thanks for watching my video. I had no idea why tap water shouldn't be used to clean the filter after a trip, and I always try to give my viewers the correct solutions for their gear. I just got off the phone with Katadyn customer support, and they confirmed that it's perfectly fine to rinse the filter out this way. If you have lots of mineral content in the water, they would not recommend soaking the filter in tap water, which is not what I do anyway. So rest assured it is ok :)

It's true. This filter is awesome. :)
You are not supposed to run tap water through that. 😢
