The fact that two people voted thumbs down only proves that there is unintelligent life somewhere out there in the Universe. Just an amazingly perfect rendition of this classic!!!
Crimson flames tied through my ears, rollin' high and mighty traps Pounced with fire on flaming roads using ideas as my maps "We'll meet on edges, soon, " said I, proud 'neath heated brow Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth, "rip down all hate, " I screamed Lies that life is black and white spoke from my skull, I dreamed Romantic facts of musketeers foundationed deep, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now Girls' faces formed the forward path from phony jealousy To memorizing politics of ancient history Flung down by corpse evangelists, unthought of, though somehow Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now A self-ordained professor's tongue too serious to fool Spouted out that liberty is just equality in school "Equality, " I spoke the word as if a wedding vow Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand at the mongrel dogs who teach Fearing not that I'd become my enemy in the instant that I preach My existence led by confusion boats, mutiny from stern to bow Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats too noble to neglect Deceived me into thinking I had something to protect Good and bad, I define these terms quite clear, no doubt, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I'm younger than that now
"Crimson flames" I guess! "Muskateers" I see rising on his harmonious horizons! His guitar is an orchestra. The one voice singing of a thousand voices! Thanks for uplifting my soul! Three minutes of heaven!
Mike, This is one of my favorite songs. Your acoustic version is terrific. I'm a Dylan fan as well as the Byrds. I just happened to see your button at the end of the Dylan 30th Anniversary version of this song and gave it a click. I think Bob and Roger would love your version. Great tunes on your page. Keep it up.
This is a classic and you have made it even better. You are so gifted. You have the voice of an Angel ( said that before but it's true ☺ ) Beautiful, beautiful 🥰👏👏🎶🎶
Just discovered this. It’s really good. Always loved this Dylan song. Loved the Byrds rendition but they obviously truncated the verses. Mike Sinatra restored this angry ballad to all its moving pathos. I’ve watched it at least 10 times. Definitive cover!!!!
Really appreciate the minimalist approach; strong guitar work, magnificent voice; you alone in a studio. pleasure to listen to. i trust you don't demolish hotel rooms when you tour.
"flaming roads, and ideas as my maps" ... so many doors that Dylan guy opened in writing a line like that.. think i have to add this to my repertoire ... you sing it perfectly Mike, absolutely adore that harmony on that one recurring line... beautiful to hear again!!
I love your work
Thanks very much!
Very few people can sing Dylan without distorting the song - you can and I love this cover.
Thanks!
Flaming fireseee
The fact that two people voted thumbs down only proves that there is unintelligent life somewhere out there in the Universe. Just an amazingly perfect rendition of this classic!!!
