Great Stuff Shawn!....I do think Alton Towers should have a few evenings open till late, so we can experience this ride in the dark rather than waiting till scarefest!..Either way a great addition to the park.
I just noticed a clever detail. I remember reading that the human face of the Big Bob was supposed to be the face of the beornens god and the rams head is supposed to represent their devil. I noticed that as the music gets darker you move around the Big Bob. So the happier sounding music is when you see the god face and the darker music is when you can see the devil head.
Fantastic but a shame that some low lives will insist on scratching and defacing the que line and not to mention the idiots who will be determined to smoke in the que line despite the signs!
I find the no smoking signs kinda ironic since the whole deal with the wicker man is burning and fire but I guess they want healthy victims for the wicker man ritual LOL
Went on WickerMan when I was at Alton Towers with my school last year (2019) was my second time riding it and omg I forgot how fast it was! I cannot wait for us all to be back to normal again so I can feed the flames once again. I managed to buy myself a hoodie and medal last year so I always listen to the soundtrack when I wear them. This rollercoaster is my all time favourite! Would highly recommend for people who haven’t been on it yet! 😁
Only thing I'm not a fan of is that there are parts in the queue you could feel claustrophobic to add up to the fact there is nothing to see. I wouldn't want to be in a long queue for it, especially if I had ridden it before. I'm sure Alton Towers will be able to add something in the queue. On the other hand, The Wicker Man statue looks amazing, coaster looks very solid for a family coaster and the music is gorgeous! I'm hoping to come to England for this one, along with Icon and other fabulous rides this year.
I'm so excited omg! I'm literally spending most of this year at Alton Towers so I'm super excited to ride this! It looks amazing and I love the design of the trains and of course the statue itself. The fact that they based a rollercoaster in the UK off of a film makes me happy too.

The attraction was known as "The Welcoming: Be Chosen" and followed the theme of a cult village'. "The new top-secret ride at Alton Towers is going to be themed around the iconic British horror film, The Wicker Man".
This new Wicker Man ride at Alton Towers Resort which is due to open to the public when the new operating season starts on 17 March 2018 looks fantastic. The ride looks very well designed and built to a very high quality standard and has some brilliant theming throughout. Great Coasters International of the USA are a very good rollercoaster manufacture based on my first impressions of this new wooden coaster. Can’t wait to ride at some point later this year. Ride looks fab.
Theme park worldwide I saw you at the chessington annual pass preview day. I saw you in the Kobra queue and I waved at you and you waved back you made my day. I had butterfly's seeing one of my favourite youtubers

Looks really cool! They manage to create a nice oppressive atmosphere together with the design and soundtrack (even though I still find it an odd choice to use In The Hall of the Mountain King) . Wonder how it will look in the summer with the greenery.
The theming is brilliant, just a bit gutted about the height and speed, but that’s the downside to Alton’s restrictions. Still can’t wait to ride. However I hope this is start of getting the U.K public to fall in love with woodies. Thorpe park could build a 150 -200ft RMC if all goes well. We need one here!! Look forward to your review Shawn!
OMG I am so excited to ride wicker man it looks like on of the most themed dissemination the UK and it is one of the best investments in Alton towers for quiet while and my mind was blown away when I saw those fire effects and the ride testing the only thing which Isn't good with it is how short it is it could be little bit bigger but it is still amazing my overall rating for it from just watching your video is 9/10 but it might change when I ride it this year!!!!!!😁😁😁
That bit of queue where you filmed through the fence windows during construction, really gives me Nemesis queue overflow behind the loop feels :) Gonna be there on opening day, cannot wait

Wow wickerman looks amazing the structured part with the monkey head looks tip top, and it looks so fast off ride that's how woodies should be in the uk , the team have done a fantastic job from start to finish, And like how you been given first day press release so fascinating to see it all up close and personal, Amazing coverage so far shawn look forward to more content on the wickerman :D
Be interesting to see how it moves with a full train of people. Also once the foliage has grown a bit should look good too. I was hoping they might add crops and make a mini crop circle.
Jazz Terry-Short lol good idea but be satisfied with this theming man..looks sick..they went the extra mile with this detail..people are always going to find faults or pick on minor details..
Wasn't dissing it,,, just expressing a little of what I envisioned when I heard the name Wicker Man. It looks epic, be great to see what it looks like when its aged a bit.
Thanks for sharing Shawn! It looks really really good! They've done a fantastic job, as have IMAscore on the music. I really hope they keep on top of the effects, like the pyros/fog machines etc. These need to be running at all times to really keep the immersion, tho I do like the 'fake' flame effect screens in the structure!!
Nice, didn't even hear about this, reminds me of the wooden rollercoaster- megaphobia at oakwood. Doubt thats the worlds biggest wooden rollercoaster now...
Finally Merlin have upped their game and built a solid coaster with a sustained theme. Hope this marks a change in strategy and the start of some world class additions to their parks!
Guess I’m making another weekend trip up to Alton Towers! I just need to convince my family that its not a bad wooden coaster for some reason they hate the idea of going on one but have never been on one. 😅
The theming is really great...so is the queue walkthrough and the track looks really interesting! Is it just me, or does a small part of the soundtrack resemble Baron 1898's soundtrack? Thanks for this awesome video!

Great theming, looks like an excellent family coaster. A solid family coaster is really what Alton needed and I’m glad they got it with this.

That's the first ride I've wanted to experience at Alton Towers in years. Fantastic woody with creative, immerse theming.

Ride it whilst it's new! They'll cut corners after a few seasons- the flames will be the first to go. Sad but inevitable.

Things around the legs are called gaiters. Normally use in military for going through damp areas or swaps to keep your legs dry.
