Vizell - Rape Yourself (2001)

"Kaleidoscope", 2001.
Vizell formed in 1999. That October, the group released its first single, "Gift", which was limited to 1000 copies. The single didn't really give the group a strong boost in the visual underground, and Vizell then released their second single, "Not", which was limited to 2000 copies. In November of 2000, Vizell released their third single, "Lose ~ローゼ~", and also released their first mini-album, "Leer", that month as well. By this time, Vizell were starting to develop a respectable indies following for their strong, gothic-esqued metal style. In June of 2001, the group released its second mini-album, "Kaleidoscope", which soon sold out when it was released. Despite their growing popularity, Vizell faced their first lineup change when bassist Hikaru (光輝) left. When Hikaru left, Vizell attempted to carry on as a duo, but eventually ended up disbanding by early 2002. Hikaru went on to become a member of Kisui Project (Kisuiプロジェクト), until eventually leaving to become a support bassist for the iconic visual band, lynch. He soon departed from lynch., however, and then promptly retired from the visual underground afterwards. The frontman and guitarist of Vizell, Tatsuya and Kaine (戒音), both went on to join the indies band Arpege, which split after barely a year of activity. After Arpege's disbandment, Tatsuya retired from the visual scene as well, while Kaine became a support guitarist for the indies band Six-R. When Six-R also folded in 2009, however, Kaine then also retired from the visual scene.
