We had friends that owned a sawmill in NH and it was a more typical diesel engine driving a circular blade probably 52"-60" in diameter and they cut mostly rough sawn White Pine. They could have never dreamt of cutting wood so fast as this double sided blade band saw, absolutely astounding how fast this machine is.
As a sawyer running a old handset mill, im impressed, hurdle makes a awesome mill, just a note this mill is a large operation he is sawing grade on hardwood, notice how he kicks out the cant to go to a resaw usually for pallet grade lumber..very impressive
He’s smooth, not really the quickest. But slow and steady wins the race. I sawed hardwood for 15 years on a Salem 6’ band mill single cut and would saw the logs down to a 2 sided 6” or 8” cant les than 24” wide, and have sawed over 100 poplar logs in an hour, which is getting it!! And my best hour of footage sawed was 14,650 board feet. I miss this part of the sawmill as well as the maintenance, but the lumber industry cant pay nearly enough nowadays. I was at one of the largest hardwood sawmills in the southeast, South Carolina actually. Great video and like the other comments, I could watch him saw all day.
Incredible! I was truly fascinated by the sawmilling process shown here. Seeing such huge logs being expertly processed is amazing. The quality of the video is superb. Looking forward to your upcoming videos. Keep producing such excellent content!
Beautiful Sawmill for sure I started sawing ON A double cut in 1975 was head swayer on 5 different mills, last one I sawed Hemlock for the Japenese market .mostly sawed Cedar in Marysville Washinton
That is the most impressive mill I’ve seen yet and I watch these videos. Some machines have facets, but not many use a blade with two edges like this. That is cool.
Cleerman builds a similar rig. This Hurdle carriage is made in Moscow, Tennessee and very commonly used in the South for the production of cross ties. There are several astounding videos on RUclips of them working.
I like the comments. Look at how perfect every log is . that makes running a headrig easy. Trust me folks some ugly logs run through this mill no doubt. Its a nice machine I've run Cleerman through my career.
Trying to figure out how the blade stays on the wheels with teeth on both edges... incredible piece of machinery, would be mind numbing to run one after the first few hours though...
amazing.A wonderful machine. It reduces the risk of accidents for workers. My channel also talks about these activities. You can refer to it. Thank you, brother.
I wood love to run that carriage. Seeing Im a sawyer, lumber n log grader and sales person I guess Im over qualified from what Im told. Happy sawing !!
At 6.48 sometimes some logs are too twisted considering the length to expect a good yield...! on the saw.. the more a log is twisted the shorter it is cut ... error of the lumberjack in forest or on the log- yard..!

They'll be getting much better recovery as well, the bandsaw has a tiny kerf in comparison to the big circular saw.
Nice working carriage I was a sawyer years ago in a double cut band saw mill. This brings back memories thanks

Who ever is running the saw is the best I've ever seen , maximum yield , supper job , give him a raise!!!!!!!!!
Right he’s pretty quick

Hurdle. One of the coolest machines.
Huge Double ended saw blade.
Making Kants (sp)
Laser- guided double blade sawmill. First time to see this automated sawmill. Impressive!
it is not a double blade mill only a double sided blade
Very impressive amazing how fast it cuts and some beautiful lumber
We are running one of the first hurdle Mills ever made a hurdle junior and it still does great run it every day thanks for posting
This was oddly satisfying! Like watching an industrial artist at work!
Q+1
This machine certainly has a fast rollover of the logs. Plus I'm impressed with the double edged blade. 👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Maquina muita boa (top )
have such production. and you are rated as a professional.

We had a CME chipper on both our headrigs. Saves four passes on every one of those logs. It adds up over a shift.

Amazing fast cutting and both ways
Speed and precision are the key functions. Awesome machine. Congratulations to the producers.
is a damned good head sawyer! He doesn't cut much air!
Very Very good in production
Man dont I miss running one of those everyday!!!
Good money though.....I was paid red seal rate at $41 dollars an hour canadian

Excellent AUTOMATION 👍👍👍

Excellent bowl-cut on that dude.

The sawyer can certainly walk and chew gum at the same time. Nice looking wood. Very productive headrig.
0:39 - most clever machine that I ever see!
That mechine is very good. I like that
what king of lumber tree is that...ahh this is so calming what a machine
He is sawing Poplar logs. You can tell by the green middle of the log. These logs are a soft wood. A lot of pallets are made from them.
@@nomerc3608 Yes, and commonly used for furniture parts that don't show like drawer parts etc. Also used occasionally for bard and shed siding.
Laborious business. But very popular all over the world.

Great job Hurdle boys!
Thanks
Deeply satisfying ❤️
Having a tipple belt right after the band saw is so handy.....drop garbage and bell ends before it gets to the rollers
How often does it require band changes? And I would like to see a video about that.
So you usually change them every shift but you can sharpen them.
Mesin yg sangat canggihhh akurat dan cepat....👍👍👍👍
I love working sawmil Band saw
Very nice bandsaw .
Amazing production what kind of wood are you sawing? What part of the country/world are you in? 🇨🇦✌️
Like how it slows down feed speed for larger logs
Trying to figure out how the blade stays on the wheels with teeth on both edges... incredible piece of machinery, would be mind numbing to run one after the first few hours though...

Scary fast, opps, I had it on 2.
Probably
Woww... Love to see this...very fast

Well done on woodworking projects brother💯❤
