First sawyer ive seen on RUclips. Not to much travel...actually keeps enough lead ect. Another 40hp on head and a scrag to take care of the little bolts and this fellow could do another 8000ft in a day.
What hurdle are you using do you know the type? Looks like you're running 8ft logs so works well with a 2 head block system. Are you kicking it out onto a deck or there guys pulling the boards on the other side? Thanks great video!
@danielneikes5960 Wow! 3 times a day?? Are these carbide inserts you guys are using? With a debarking process? That's alot of sharpening, I'm doing about 2-3 days before a touch up
@danielneikes5960 We saw coniferous, mostly spruce and pine. We don't debark at this time either we pressure wash our logs on the infeed. We do approximately 25,000 bdft every 2 shifts. Nothing spectacular, small family operation
@@waltersaari7954 Been at it around 15 years. Thanks for the compliment. The man that owns the mill taught me so I learned watching him as an owner operator. So I learned how to get with it. Lol
I sharpen every 2 - 2 1/2 hours unless there’s metal or rocks. Full disclosure though I had just sharpened the saw before this video was made so it was running its best.
Bloody hell thats fast. Love the set up, especially the way it turns the log.
@@darbuc7198 thanks. I gotta keep the dust flying to make that $$
I miss the sawyers box, yes I do . Just the sound of the saw rhythm sooths me .
What a great little sawmill definitely a joy to watch. Stay safe God bless.✌️🇨🇦

What an awesome set up. I need a hurdle carriage for my saw😅
How often do you need to sharpen?
About 3 times daily. Unless the logs are extra dirty or I hit metal.

Simonds 9/32 carbides. No debarker.

nice mill.
Faster than Sh!t through a Canada Goose !!
😂 good one
No feckin around there , some man 😅
Where is this mill at?
Alton Missouri
With the bark on the logs I’m sure he has to sharpen the blade quite often. Even if they were carbon teeth.
i'm not sure how often he sharpens but yeah when it's been raining the logs are full of mud
We would sharpen every two hrs at the sawmill I used to work at, unless you hit a rock or something
I never saw anyone saw this fast before.
