A few days ago we drove the 2 hrs from our home and stayed in the Bishop Victorian Hotel built by my husbands great grandfather. The shop with the reading room was one of my faves. If you keep traveling, check out cities on ley lines, earth's energy grid. Most large cities are built on them, but not all. You'll feel it, just like Port Townsend ❤
My hubby and I moved to PT a little over 2 years ago from central Texas. I found it while searching for a place to retire and knew just from the description it would be perfect for us. It’s the funky and kind and artsy town I always wanted to be a permanent resident of. We love it so much! And you actually slept right down the street from us and one of my friends - Michelle - is one of the chanting gals. She has incredible singing bowl ceremonies.

I traveled 101 last year myself from Redding, and the furthest north I was able to go was Port Townsend. (Had to get back for appts), but boy, was I bummed. Oh, I'm so glad you got out of the heat in Sacramento. The worst July ever. I'm trapped here taking care of my elderly cats, otherwise I'd be on the coast most of the summer . But I'm grateful to have a humble, paid off (today)😮 home with an old but working a/c. It will be my home base once I can travel. Will head north, but south calif coast is also calling me. I took many road trips from LA (Claremont) to Canada along our fine Pacific Ocean coastline. I’m so glad you enjoyed your time there.

Oh, I'm so glad you got out of the heat in Sacramento. The worst July ever. I'm trapped here taking care of my elderly cats, otherwise I'd be on the coast most of the summer . But I'm grateful to have a humble, paid off (today)😮 home with an old but working a/c. It will be my home base once I can travel. Will head north, but south calif coast is also calling me. And then there is the desert, Florida space coast, friends in Boston. So much to see so little time. I'm glad you are doing this while you are young ❤. Happy trails to you. Lynda in Sacramento.
