- Deluxe Materials offers different adhesives tailored to every modelling task. In this video, we review the most common plastic scale model glues and take a look at two new products, Plastic Magic AD77 and Plastic Magic 10-Second Cement AD83 - thereby updating a film we released a few years ago. Let's just say, we like these new glues.
All these products are available from Historex Agents - www.historexagents.com.
In the video we take a look at:
Plastic Magic - AD77 - a thin liquid solvent glue that bonds most types of plastic - supplied with two precision applicator brushes
Plastic Magic 10-Second Cement - AD83 - a non-toxic super thin liquid cement with 10 seconds of adjustment time - supplied with two precision applicator brushes
Roket Plastic Glue - AD62 - 30ml liquid plastic cement - non-toxic & non-flammable
Plastic Kit Glue - AD70 - 20ml very fast-acting plastic cement
Also in the film you'll see:
Pin Flow - Solvent Glue Dispenser - AC11 - applicator especially designed for the precise control of liquid solvent glue
We use these products on a 1:48th scale Tamiya Cromwell and a 1:35th scale SKP Cromwell mixed media kit. The Cromwell(s) will feature in future build videos too.

I've been building models for almost 40 years now, and these types of videos are always valuable, no matter how much you think you know. It NEVER hurts to brush up on the basics, and you don't get much more basic than "what kind of glue do I use?" Always love your uploads, and enjoy your weekend.
You too!
I've been using MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) and EMA's 'Plastic-weld (Dicloromethane) since the early 90's, and for me they are the best plastic glues I've come across.
The nice thing is that you can buy a 1-litre bottle of these for about £10-12 (in the UK).
I think N butyl acetate bonds much stronger that Methyl Ethyl Ketone but smells more tho.
I have that plastic magic with the blue lid, and also tamiya super thing. I tend to use the plastic magic to glue stuff. I actually bought 2 x pots of super thin to make sprue good from. I think plastic magic is the best stuff.
sprue goo is when you mix varying amounts of plastic sprue with tamiya super thin, in order to make different grades of slurry. the thick stuff for filling seems and stuff like that, and a thinner one for fixing scaring on plastic (this is more for mini painting though than models) although I'm sure the scaring issue applies, too.
I must concur with the review of these products. I have so far only had good experiences with the Roket Plastic Glue and the 10 seconds version of Plastic Magic. Furthermore, I have used other Deluxe Materials products such as the water based putty and Liquid Gravity (love that name!). None of the products have disappointed me.
SERIOUSLY THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!
Interesting range. I might try the plastic magic.
Great review of the glues.
I still like the bottle and glass applicator, but also use a very small brush .Certainly right about Deluxe products not disappoint ing,no thinking will it do as it says like many things .
Great job bro
Nice vid!!!!!!
For a strong bond I use Tamiya extra thin cement, but I also use mr cement s where I dont need a wery strong bond because it dont smell that much.
Interesting products. How would you compare these to larger brand products like Tamiya?
All much of a muchness really, these smell less but perform similarly and you get an extra brush. I'd recommend all of them but a lot depends on how you react to the chemicals, I find these less nauseating when used for a long time. Some people are really allergic to solvent glues and get side effects, these are pretty easy going.
ty for the video. But next time could u please increase the volume bc the audio was very low and I had mine (computer at100%) and Im not deaf u know? So please from now on increase the volume of ur videos thanks!
👍🏻🍻🍺☕
used Plastic magic 10sec .. it's no way 10 sec - i have things unstuck and moving after an hour
Interesting, seems ok so far for me?
@@scalewarmachines things get realy sticky and melted .. didn;t expect that from a £10 glue - tested it on the spare plastic bits from the mould - ater a day it was stil gooey and could pull it apart - was expecting more of a solid hard resualt without melting and holding well together like a cement
Don't know if it's me but the sound was very poor
It's not you, not my greatest work on the old audio front. I really need to sort it and record better audio but I have various environmental recording probs.
Had trouble hearing you
Yep, ongoing audio probs, am investigating and trying to get it all sorted for future videos.
