I don't have a problem with this at all. If it makes a classic more useable, reliable and prolongs its life then there is real benefit. Plus the power delivery is brilliant in an EV. I couldn't afford it at the moment but I know prices will come down for the kit
I searched out this car following seeing the thumbnail the other day. Wow I wanted the Chesil E but now I want the Westfield X1, not that I can afford it but it's a dream car now. I have known interest in classic cars for being classic and I own a mg zs ev because it was the car for me not because im only for electric. Having the choice to do this for classics is fantastic but keeping it original is great for other owners. A great car is a great car and the Westfield is great petrol or electric.
Very cool, but I wouldn’t do it if the ICE car was running well. If I had a car with a blown engine and it cost to much to repair, then I’d would do it. Anyway if it keeps a classic on the road it’s good :)
@@PlanetautoUK Maybe move to another country LOL 😂. But I don't think they should ban ICE cars they should try to make it more environmentalaly friendly. The government know that they will get alot of hate from the petrolheads. But the government does not really care about what they want it seems.
That’s a plan, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with synthetic fuels, we’ll always want to keep our cars original as possible, good to know there are alternatives out there, even if they are extremely radical.
@@PlanetautoUK And, there are also kit-cars and cars in desperate need of renovation where going concours is cost prohibitive whereas EV makes the car futureproof. Also, a converted classic is YOUR car, not Elon's where the company can manipulate 'your' car at will.
There are, hive mind systems and over air updates have there good sides though - if we had a car that needed a new engine, then we’d contemplate it. Thank you Smoker
I hope I don’t live to see the day when petrol is banned ! Surely the character of a car comes from its engine , the way the car drives , the delicious sound of an engine on song , not silent performance.

That's our thoughts, and now with some companies there's the option to reverse it.

Would you do it on your c124?
Not currently

This is our thinking too, especially if there’s no chance if repair or a new engine, thank you Matt
Cool
Oh yes, thank you Mike
nice bit of kit .. hope its fitted with LiFePO batteries
WHAT ...0-60 on 5 sec . 👎🏽
Not a clue, they’re relatively new,
Personally I would not do that. I think that classic cars lose their character with a battery and an electric motor.
Yes, we agree however if the time comes when ICE is banned, would you?

This is the argument, hopefully it’ll never come to fruition Richard
@@PlanetautoUK I have to accept this is a version of the future , we’ve been lucky to live in the golden age of the motor car .
You’re right there Richard
