What's up with what appears to be segmented flaps that are always hanging down on the trailing edge of their wings? Are those on all varients? And exactly what purpose do they have?
Those are slats that increase the wings and increases lift at take off, when the plane is off the ground, they are retracted to prevent drag. If those slats aren't retracted it won't lift. That's a common error, pilots forgetting to extend the slats and will crash on take off.
