Can't believe my son and I pulled the Elway! We're lifelong Packers/Brewers/Bucks fan, but I've lived in Colorado over half of my life. Elway is royalty around here and was awesome back in the day...even beating my meloved Packers in the Super Bowl shortly before I moved out here. Thanks Jabs!
Congratulations 👏
I was born in Wisconsin and also moved to Colorado in the 80s. I became a huge Elway fan! We then moved to Cleveland so for two afc champ games I wre my Broncos gear to school on Browns day and everyone there hated Elway because they always beat the browns. The packer broncos super bowl is the best game of my life my two favorite teams and all time favorite players in elway and favre playing each other
Man, Super Bowl XXXII will always be my favorite one. I was 16 and had never seen one that was even competitive. The 2-3 that were close in score were just as boring as all the blowouts. Something that never gets brought up are the SB logo patches. That was the first year of those. Yeah, they had it for XXV but that was it. From XXXII on it was an annual thing. At the time it was one of the biggest upsets of all time. Maybe still is. The games started getting better starting with that one. There’s so many that XXXII gets forgotten.
That pack had a Curt Warner RC as well. Awesome.
It doesn’t get brought up very often but Denver beat Cleveland in the 1989 AFC Championship Game as well. Three times in four years by the same team has got to be very hard to accept.
casually scrolling past a Dickerson rookie, that card would have blown my mind in the 80's!
I had that card and it was awesome 😎
Love watching breaks of old boxes! Brings back memories of watching these guys at the end of their amazing careers.
I loved picking up these at my local store when I was a kid! Brought back lots of memories
I remember when Dan Marino raged on TV and punched the desk multiple times 🤣
I remember in 1986 my local 7-11 was dumping 1984 wax packs for 25 cents ea. So every visit I bought 5 packs of 1986 and 5 packs of 1984. I loved opening them. Took about a month to buy both boxes. Great memories!
cool story i hope you found marino and elway!
The Eric Dickerson RC looked really sharp. It’s a $2,000 card in a PSA 10.
Was surprised he didn't pull it to top of stack to sleeve later and didn't mention it as highlight of first stack.
Yeah bro its not 2k a PSA 10 with his signature last sold for a couple hundred
@@gordoe99 Jan 6 sale of a PSA 10 example was $1,999. The $199.99 sale you’re referring to was auto grade only.
@@monumentray no grad was a 9 auto was a 10. I collect high end ram cards for my pc only certain cards are going for that price and higher and junkwax isnt.
@@RetroRussell he continuously says he’s a baseball card guy only. Cut him some slack here?
Watching this brought back so many memories. It makes me want to go back in time and tell younger me to buy more packs.
My wife grew up in Miami and was a huge Marino fan. She actually owns the Marino RC and we have it in a box somewhere. I'll have to dig it out to see what kind of condition its in! Thanks for another great video!
This brought back memories. This was the set that started off my collecting waaay back in the day. Loved chasing those Marino, and Dickerson rookies!
One of the best vintage football card sets
Combined with the USFL set it may be the greatest set of all time. It is 100% the best of that era and it’s not even close.
It’s always nice watching vintage cards being opened!
Sweet Elway RC, love the older wax boxes of football!
My Dad loves telling stories about Marino…..one I hear every Thanksgiving is how Marino broke 2 or 3 fingers on one of his receivers because he threw the pigskin so hard, haha!
I've seen my share of 1984 Topps football breaks and this box by far was the cleanest I've seen. Thanks for mixing it up, and props on eating some gum! 😂
Awesome Elway and Marino pulls great job
I am going thru and commenting on every video this month last minute. I do watch every video from start to finish. Sometimes more than once. I like having your channel play in the background so I get some knowledge of players and prospects from the master.
Wow! Love these cards. Thanks for sharing and for all you do Jabs!
It's cool you opened this. Nice seeing these old players and cards
I love football cards! Enjoyed this box opening. Glad there were some rookies of Elway and Marino.
Love seeing older football openings
Love seeing you rip into some other sports genre cards every once in a while. Keep up the great videos!
I was always primarily a baseball collector, but I had some of these '84 football cards. I moved them all several years back, but I kept my Eric Dickerson cards. I always liked him... Still have them in a binder somewhere.
A few months ago I found some 1991 Topps packs at a flea market, bought 20 of them for $1 each and pulled a Emmitt Smith rookie along with John Elway, Warren Moon, Dan Marino, Deion Sanders, Jerry Rice, and Lawrence Taylor. Was a very fun rip.
I think your videos are making want to start collecting cards. I used to have 5 large bins of 80-90's cards and had a few gems in there. I gave them all away to my younger brother and am looking to start back up. I love your videos and keep up the good work :)
Loved it....grew up watching Miami and loved the Marino pulls..
Can remember buying these back in 1984 what a blast from the past
Loved the rip! Thank you Jabs for the great videos!
Watching your videos have reignited my passion for the hobby. Thank you sir!!

Great video as usual! Wish I had all of my stuff from when I was a kid
These cards bring back a lot of childhood memories! I ripped a lot of these as a kid.
I love watching some vintage football getting opened. It's a nice break from all the high-end, ultra-modern breaks on RUclips these days.
The Eric Dickerson lol great video
That was fun, remember these from back in the day. Thanks!
These cards look amazing! True definition of "Pack Fresh"!
always love going back to some of the older years
I opened several boxes of wax and cellos in 1980s. Found a couple of Elway rookie in top in cello boxes plus a Marino. Wonder if I still have one of those cello Elway packs? :-)
Love your videos! Just got back into the hobby and it makes me feel like a kid again! Much love Jabs
Great video. I started collecting football cards in 1984.
What better day to have a Football Friday event than April Fools Day. Great to see that two Marino cards were found along with Elway's rookie card. Thanks for sharing Erik!
Love seeing the vintage stuff
Loved the football break and it was cool to see the Elway, Marino and Dickerson.
Nice to see some football on here. My dad picked up a box of vintage cards and I remember finding a Deion sanders rookie. Good stuff.
once again jabs i can’t keep ur videos off of my phone this might have been one fo the coolest boxes i’ve ever seen
Loved this video, would totally be into more of these on throwback Thursday like a box of 86 Topps football.
1980's football is some of my favorite. Especially this draft class, just loaded with talent
Me too! I got back into collecting about 10 years ago. One of the first things I looked for was deals on 80s football sets. I got 1981-1987 and an extra 1984 & 1986. Love this stuff!!
Great video! One of my favorite sets from the 80s. Pulled the Marino a couple months ago in a Universal Treasures box along with the Montana.
Thanks for sharing!
love watching this one. brought back a lotnof memories.
Great to see these players from my childhood!
I met Elway when I was 7 and have been a die hard Broncos fan ever since!!

Man this is my childhood, well high school years right here. Some old classics in that box! Ethan I would love that Lyle Alzado for my PC...
Really cool cards in this break, loved seeing some old names in there. I had the honor of meeting Anthony Muñoz as a kid, he was super nice. Gentle giant!
I think this video deserves a Patreon subscription! Thanks Jabs
I love baseball cards and I love heritage cards
If the box was full of gi Joe cards that would be the best April fools video ever.
Loved the 1st edition of Football Friday. Keep up the good work, Jabs!
I'd love to have the Marino rc again! Dan was the man when I was a kid!
A lot of players I forgot about, brings back a lot of memories! Thanks for the video sir!

I was into football pretty heavy when I first started collecting. Brings back some good memories.
If I knew back in 1984 , the value of this box, I would of bought cases of them
Love the vidz, Jabs! Thanks
I remember opening football cards when I was 10 and having no idea what I was doing. Cool to see you open a different sport!
Its wild how much of a comeback football cards are making.
I like the different variety you open
I love you switching gears with football!
Nice looking old football cards and gum!
Great idea for April fool's! Fun to watch some clean vintage breaks! Thanks Jabs!
Really great box. Tons of awesome cards in those packs.
Thanks Jabs this was fun!
Love this set, one of the few Football sets I collected as a kid.
Never been the biggest fan of football cards. But really did enjoy this video!
One of my favorite card collecting moments was going with my Dad to a LCS in about 1987, buying a pack of these and pulling the Marino!
84 and 86 topps along with 89 score great boxes for friday football breaks
