    I just came across this video which o love all of them. Since 2000 I've traveled to Panama twice a year for business/personal. The molas I'm familiar with. The Kuna Indians sew the molas and I have some large exquisite ones. The ones you have were probably from The Vulcan (volcano in Anton) at Sunday Market. They are sold so cheaply its ridiculous. 1 or 2 dollars for the small ones. Its fun to watch them sew the molas...layering different colors of fabric. You made out really really good.

  • @W78thIS
    @W78thIS 2 года назад +4

    Great video! I love how thorough you are with where you got things and how long they took to sell.
    One note and a caution - the mermaid ornament definitely is not a Radko. Radko Italians typically still have a cap. Rarely did they use the curled over glass for the hook, and this is not one of those times. I know google lens ID'd it as Radko, but it was likely from a listing which also mis-identified it. If the seller did not include the name and item number, it is because they are just guessing it is a Radko, but have no real idea. An item number could then be double checked in Radko back catalogs, which are nearly all posted on Radko's website.
    The caution about misidentifying Radkos - Radko collectors are a competitive bunch. They will bid first, ask questions later, in their rush to beat the competition. But once they receive the ornament, they often have much sharper eyes for the questionable details, and will seek a return/refund if they realize the ornament is not a Radko. Especially since this is a Made in China ornament....

    Favorite item?? Ooh, so hard to choose. I was really intrigued by those Mola patches, probably because I'm an embroiderer and I love patches and I've never seen anything like those. I'm not fancy so the blingy things didn't really interest me. I'm also a quilter and general fabric fiend, so I do love you for saving those quilt tops (I believe they're just called tops, not toppers, if there's no backing or batting yet. I don't mean that to sound snotty, just thought you'd want to know.)

      It is way more complicated than that. I have a payroll company and pay my portion of social security and federal income tax on their wages. Question, I noticed that many of the sales in this video started at one price and then showed a 35% markdown. Is that your general strategy, i.e., start high and then mark it down after a period of time? Do you have a pre-determined period of time to mark it down, or does it depend on the item? Thank you.

    I love watching your videos! I was on eBay for 16 years and thinking of going back on. You find some remarkable things but you also are very knowledgeable. Where would you say to someone new starting? And what items to start looking for? Thank you! 😊💕

      Whatever you can find, it really depends on your area and what kind of inventory is available. That's why I sell everything because I can't find enough of everything

    Do you suggest researching your geographical area prior to listing? Must of the resellers I have watched are in the states. I resided in Canada.

      No, because a lot of sellers have international shipping on such as myself and I ship a lot internationally. I would just make sure to turn international on

    Very inspiring. One question... If you could please make a video of how to ship fragile items. I have a garage full of antique china I don't want to leave to my kids the trouble after I am gone. but what stops me from listing is I don't know how to wrap safely to ship. Please, please, show us the safe way to ship. Thank you for all your videos.

    What is your pricing strategy? Do you try to start the auction at the value you believe the item is? Do you have a buy it now price? Do you allow offers? Do you do 7 day auctions or longer auctions on some items?

    • @TheNurseFlipper
      @TheNurseFlipper  2 года назад +1

      I don't do auctions except very rarely, less than 2% of my items are auctions. I do buy it now with offers on for most of my listings. Unless rare and in demand I won't auction and if I do I start at the lowest I'm willing to take and how many ever days for it to end on a fri sat or sun

    I am curious with all the online Hi-Bid pieces you sold, were those all shipped to you? And do you just figure you'll charge about the same in shipping when you sell it? Or how do you account for that shipping cost? I ask because I've heard you say before that HiBid vendors can often gouge you on the shipping. I bought my first item on HiBid recently and they charged me $21 for a box of thimbles. They did pack them really well but that seemed awfully high, and the item was only $20 so that doubled my cost. Thanks so much for sharing!

    • @TheNurseFlipper
      @TheNurseFlipper  2 года назад +1

      It is about half and half between shipped and local pickup and I calculate the shipping cost into the cost of the item.

      Why would I pay some to my buyer? If you mean who buys the merchandise that is me lol and no the listers get a flat fee for listing and a bonus if they list a certain amount
