The exhaust of that Abarth is no joke! And it's impressive that an old E36 can keep up with a modern hot hatch, they really don't make them like they used to anymore.
On a curvy road its much easier, i managed to keep up with a 370z in a 140 hp mondeo, until i had to brake for some cyclists, but i caught up again :) really its more about how much you know the road. Now in a straight line the 370 walks away
Fun fact: in Italy the 500 Abarth is considered a shitty cornering car (same chassis of the Panda) but a great straight road car for the easily tuning engine.
However, the panda 100hp is considered one of the most fun and best handling warm/hot hatchbacks ever made which goes to show that the way a chassis is set up is key!
@@miralemnermina142 not sure where you've got your information as they have exactly the same wheelbase and the abarth is actually 8cm longer body wise than the panda 100hp and sits 4cm lower. The seats in the abarth are near enough exactly the same as in the 100hp and many people take the abarth seats and put them in the panda because they are better/ever so slightly lower. The main difference in terms of handling is that the 100hp has a much harsher, darty ride and is on 15 inch wheels with a 195/45 tyre and abarths come on either 16 or 17 inch wheels which mostly are 205/40 wide and ride a good bit softer and comfier than a 100hp panda. The abarths also have a wider track than the 100hp which some say makes them more planted at the expense of quickness at changing direction and sheer chuckability. I actually own a 100hp myself so I know there is a difference in handling but both cars are on exactly the same floorpan, (along with the ford ka) so to say they have different lengths of wheelbases is wrong I'm afraid. The only real difference is the number of doors.
The Abarth is a fun little car. Questionable in the corners with stock suspension but it can do some damage with the right set up(just like anything else I guess).
Traction control off. Less braking and when needed, more sudden and later instead of too early and keeping it. I loved that he was really passionate about it. Give him a few more practice runs and he can improve the time a lot!
Man I'm two for two now, I voted the pacifica would be faster and that the e36 would be faster... keep it coming! I'm sure the driver of the abarth could get a bit more time out of it with more runs. Is the e36 modified?
You need good tires and brembo 4pot brakes with good pads and try another shot i garantee you will do better at least 6/7 second no joke Ale from Italy,Rome
Here in Italy these car are SOOOOOOO popular, but the sad reality is that most owners use them to hardpark at meets and make pop and bangs destroying other's people eardrums (and balls).

yeah. i raced a golf r some time ago on my local outlaws in a 330ci, and i somehow could keep up. although awd is awd:(
Good tires help out! The E36 used RE71R and has weight reduction, definitely gonna show up in later videos 🤘
Ridge Chaser you should make a video about tyres lol semislicks or high performance road for touge etc

it's a fwd fiat with no lsd, short wheel base and high roof.
ofc the e36 is faster, it's kinda embarrassing for the e36 as well
the abarth driver do it like a truly italian FAAAK :DD
What are you talking about, he clearly said, "What a relaxing drive!" 👌

Much different car then the 500 Abarth in terms of handling

Now that they saw your line in this gutless wonder the e36 is gonna drop 15-20 seconds.
I was like oh sick street car and then you said billet internals lost me lol very cool car
*Good Run*
Second attempt Trac control needs to be off limiting
Yup! Hoping for a 2nd attempt
I gotta know where this touge route is

Ale from Italy,Rome
How are the sections defined
For me the end of the Stage was in the middle of the touge Like there were some corners left
We use markers, in this case the utility pole. We allocate a few corners so that people aren't blasting through the intersection
🔝
Its a pocket rocket !!
Need better tires
time?
Time!
I would have left the e36 in my abarth, this guy don’t got wheel
Nice! You have video of your Abarth?
I am not gonna lie, I am blown away that the abarth didn’t dust the e36 lol. Great driving!
