I was cleaning out my mom's attic and found my old Westinghouse fan that I used growing up. 50+ years later it still runs. It really brought back some great memories. All we had back then was a box fan turned backwards in the window and we were fine. I like your channel
Yeah I think most of the smell is just old oil that's sitting in the motor. I'll have to try cleaning out the bearings and oil wicks some day.... Thanks for Watching!
I can tell this video is quite old, Just watched the GE Strap Restoration and I notice it in the background, I am assuming this is 1/50 of the projects that got in the way lol.
@@colin_5839 And as I was about to reply to this comment I also just noticed it in the intro, My name is Lane Actually, This is my mothers account, I'm actually a fan collector as well, Just/Going to learn about connecting and rewiring old fans. Heading my way over to restoring them too.

@@colin_5839 Very "Cool" Indeed 😅
The worst part of fixing some of these old fans is trying to get all the oil wicking material out!
Yeah I never actually removed the oil wick from this fan... Almost wondering if I should try it to get rid of the smell... Thanks for watching Marc!
called similar old Laskos breeze makers, frigids
Frigid and Lasko were and this are all separate companies, but yes the older Laskos do have some resemblance!
