    Being Brazilian and have been skating since the 80's I always get amazed how talented skaters we have even though we never had that easy. International brands never came to Brazil back in the day and we had the create our own. The government didn't care about building skateparks we had to build our own ramps, boxes, rails. The streets are rough and hard to skate. All this problems contributed for the evolution of skateboarding in Brazil in some weird way, we had to be creative and skate in any terrain. I love to see new skaters like her coming up, getting more attention from the international media. If she continue like this she will go far and achieve great things!!

    How lucky she is to have access to all the stuff she has, and how talented she is to have picked up skating so quickly

    • @moegerms
      @moegerms 5 лет назад

      I don't think you understood the video at all. She doesn't have "access to all this stuff", that's why the organization exists, to give talented kids like her boards and a platform to expose themselves to sponsors. She has no resources. You saw that grainy ass 144p footage of her heel flipping 4 stairs, that was in 2016 lol.

    • @rogedacosta
      @rogedacosta 5 лет назад

      mallexjansen Exactly! She comes from one of the poorest regions in Brazil, which remember, is itself still a 3rd world country. When she says she wanna to move to Sao Paulo it's because in her hometown it's damn difficult having access to whatever it is.. It's much different from America where there's a good education system and people get funds and access to do many things from early ages, like all the different sport programs, baseball, basketball, footbal and so on.. That doesn't exist in Brazil for the vast majority of people.. So seeing these people really putting her on the map is awesome as this will boost sponsors and help her carry on progressing. Shout out to the guys supporting not only her but all the other kids who would otherwise have limited or no chances at all without the support these guys are providing 🛹

    Brazilians are the best skaters today. That girl is better than any adult American female skater. She looks so comfortable on her board. Good for her she’s incredible and will go far.

    for anyone wondering, her name is pronounced hai-EE-suh LAY-ow. It sounds counter-intuitive, but the letter 'r' is pronounced as an 'h' in portuguese. and words ending in a vowel followed by an 'l' have a 'w' kind of sound. I minored in portuguese in college and highly recommend anyone to check it out along with brazilian culture in general

    Omg she's the little girl who heelflipped that set 4 years ago??? I wish I could say I'm not surprised at how good she's gotten, but I'm super surprised (in a good way!). Can't wait to see more of her in the future! This kid can go far and it seems like she has the right support system around her too.

    I love seeing young girls skate. Kids tend to mirror and imitate each other, hopefully she’s inspiring other girls to get out there as well.

    That's what it's about... The present and past bring the future forward. It's cool to see that the young kids are pushing it forward and the old guys still having so much fun too. I like seeing my old favorites slapping a curb and still loving it, while at the same time this kid is slayyyyying BS smith down a ten. Absolutely so awesome

    Everyone here is praising the girl, the guy who owns skate nations deserves a lot of credit for what he's doing. Those kids may have never gotten the chance in their life to come to America if it wasn't for SkateNation.
