Not sure how you thought araxxor practically failed in rs3. Boss is still farmed many years after release and loved by many. It introduced mechanics to the next step for the game and still helps with learning curves. Was a success imo.

And Im all for OSRS adding high tier slayer bosses to make slayer even better than it is now. Only weirdos are mad about this boss from what i can tell.

@@tombgoblin I mean comparing RS3 numbers of today against osrs numbers does nothing to guage the success araxxor is/was at its time of release and to this day. So... I like both games but make no mistake, all of the best things in osrs are directly from rs3. RS3 is a failure in terms of player numbers, financially ( the important one) its WAY more successful than osrs because of the mtx.
i think these are the videos to show what is exactly wrong with some part of the community. arraxor in rs3 was a huge succes and is still to this day killed on a daily basis for weapons that have a solid place in the game going for 100m-400m. in osrs the boss is getting a different place in the game as a slayer boss perhaps less difficult than rs3 version. the halfberd can provide a niece in future updates, the amulet upgrade is good but should require torture + item + high crafting level. the venom gland will have a place for rich players. so all the negativity in this video is just to bash on jamflex. last but not least the game and how updates are presented and voted on is the real reason everything is going downhill
Araxxor wasn't hated on release, it was just annoying because hit and run + killing our pack yaks all the time mechanics sucked The thing is, we already have what old araxxor dropped so araxxor coming now isn't gonna be that big of an upset. Araxxor for rs3 dropped what we have now as Twisted Bow and Scythe, he dropped noxious bow/scythe
I think OSRS PVM content begins to feel stale because of how simple the combat truly is. The developers really don't have many options when it comes to designing interesting and compelling combat when prayers and tick manipulation can be used to block so much damage, completely trivializing once tough bosses. It's the same issue RS2 faced, leading us to EOC. OS wont ever come near a change like EOC, but they'll need to figure something out. The need for upgrading items is also coming from something RS3 faced, a lack of market for mid/late game items and end-game players selling their mid/late game items once they get the new end-game, also ironmen having 0 use for dupes. That's where invention came in and revitalized the economy. I honestly could see invention in OSRS as skill like smithing or crafting, creating brand new items instead of augmenting existing ones.
