- So I've been going to Amsterdam for 8 years, and over that time there's a lot of coffeeshops in Amsterdam that I hate. Today I'll be revisiting these coffeeshops in Amsterdam to see if i gave them a fair opinion, or if my opinion has changed.

Home grown fantasy is still my favourite place in Amsterdam...it's small and always full most of the time they are out of stock but they are so friendly and quality always on point!

Bruh.. besides saying was definitively just some haze - which is unexplainably noobie to me in any way - I couldn't find the terpene profile of jelly cookies, but comparing the main terpene profile of normal cookies vs super silver haze (which most of the haze is in dam) - you can never tell with a straight face 1 strain is a 100 % this or that because the main terpenes are quite similar and I'm not even considering phenotypes ..

Solo is great… initially I was like “drew wtf?” Ahahahha
I love that place. I heard drew mention it in the beginning of the video and was like wtf. The last time I went to Amsterdam I stayed at a family friends house that was literally a 150 -200 foot walk from the place and I went every day. They had good prices, the bud got me stoned af , they had glass to use if needed and even a volcano vape for public use.
Yeah I am glad he gave Solo a better rating, I've always had great experiences in that place and they always have some tasty strains

I went into the Jolly Joker on my last trip and it was awful. The staff were incredibly rude, bud was dead and they refused to let my two friends join us at the table after we payed for bud and they were willing to buy drinks because they came in 2 minutes after us.
Always been this way. I went 20 years ago - same story
Why have people allowed the standards to be so low? Why the expectation not far higher?
I've only been in other legal countries/cities and not spent time in the dam but it just seems so much lower in standard than the rest of the legal world. Really strange!

@@manzanasrojas6984 lmfao yes I know it is 'TeChNIcAlLy' illegal in the Netherlands but that obviously is not the perspective of the people towards the drug or how it is generally perceived in Amsterdam. Thus why a pretty much legal market has not only functioned in Amsterdam for so long but it has been enabled to continue by their government etc. The standard could be far higher without it affecting any aspect of what's legal or illegal. The standard is low because that seems to be what is expected/put up with by the average customer. The laws of supply and demand will always apply. I can't seem to find a better answer than that.

I moved to Holland in 1989 and lived there for 17 years, I worked in the Blues Brothers Coffeshop and the menu was awful, it was bog standard hash and weed, so when people asked me for the best smoke I used to tell them to go to the Bluebird, or Family First, the Central was great for Afghanistan Hash it was proper sticky 😘 but my absolute favorite for customer service, good vibes and the menu was the Bluebird 😁

Bluebird coffee shop was the very 1st coffee shop I ever went into way back in 1993 ! 10 guilders a gram of sticky afgan hash same price for skunk 1 👍 them was the days 💯🔥💯
Im a pothead, saw this vid and clicked on it coz i live here in A'dam (40yrs). I dont even kno those cfeshops u went tbh 🙊. The only 2 shops i visit when i show ppl arround downtown is Tweede Kamer & or Boerejongens. All those other bs cfeshops are tourist places with tourist prizes with tourist quality weed. Im just keepin it real homie. I love to smoke haze. So when i want to smoke i eather go to Warda (east side) or to Atlas (north side). I kno ppl from out of NL really dont kno where to go and things like that... So i recommend Tweede Kamer or Boerejongens for my homies comming true 🙏. Good vid dawg, Njoy your smoke.

Can’t believe Solo was on your list. This is my favorite Coffeeshop in Amsterdam. My only complaint is that there is not enough seating.
I remember going to popeyes about 20 years ago and the pink kush was 10/10. The owner some short Indian fella with a ponytail and had a fit tall blonde missus. Went back 4/5 years later his missus has left and he looked a broken man

Popeyes Vanilla Kush was 100% sprayed with vape flavouring or something, got it around 2016 the ash was as black as they come and give me a headache straight away
I had a great time in Solo a few weeks back. Great conversation, not overcrowded and I really enjoyed the Sunset Sherbet!

I went to Amsterdam for the first time when I was 16, 22 years a go and believe me your list would be much larger! The bar was pretty low and it was generally, way sketchier. My favourite shop was the Rockery back then, they were always lovely and welcoming although the weird rope chairs were not the one for comfort👌
even if you got a bench seat it was no better, possibly the most uncomfortable place to sit that I remember but I haven't been since, maybe 15+ years ago. Visiting this year, not sure what to really expect nowadays especially compared to the time I was there frequently

Was really surprised to see Solo appear on this list. I stayed in an Air BnB across the road from it a few years ago and just like you said after revisiting, the guy in there was super friendly and bud was decent. Really lovely to see you return and change opinions on it 👌🏻
Damn that Vanilla Haze has been in Popeyes since at least 2014 😂 I know because I smoked it back then and couldn't believe how much like Vanilla it tasted 😂 Great video mate. Love the Amsterdam content I'm travelling out in 3 days, can't wait!🇳🇱

IMO solo might be the most underrated shop in dam. Always has good bud at a decent price and top knotch service

Dolphin bar was the best place aesthetically. The bulldog was the best for atmosphere hands down. I know their weed is overrated but it was still an awesome experience.
I honestly think some of the flak Bulldog gets comes from it being so popular - people like to have the lower majority opinion just for the sake of it, however I do know of some people who have had terrible experiences and the menu can get shit late on in the day once crowds of people have filtered through! I personally will always visit for at least one joint when i go, i like the vibes! :D
I lived in Holland for two years and I found the unfriendliness of everyone quite exceptional. I’m going to Barcelona for my next smoking holiday. I’d like you to review the sour faced women who works selling the weed, downstairs in the original bulldog. Possibly the rudest person in Holland? Check her out for yourselves
Totally different experience from me. Maybe met one or two rude people. The Dutch are very direct and dry lol. But I haven't lived there so what do I know.

I recently went to Barcelona and experienced a cannabis club for the first time. I only went to one club because I wasn't on a smoking holiday but it was a 10 times better experience than any coffee shop I've ever been to in the dam

GWA and Gorilla are the best clubs in Barcelona
went in 2019 and most of the bud was so over priced it was ridiculous. Had some gelato they were doing 2g for 10 on sale that was the only thing we kept blazing rinsed 500 euros in 4 days, food is over priced, drinks over priced, bud over priced. In Amsterdam they will take your money rudely and not even smile when doing it. They dont give a fuck about repeat custom. Yeah all that forcing to buy a drink as well, I've had enough of them to be honest. Its a shame because its such a nice city to walk around

Lived in Amsterdam myself. My personal fav is Kashmir Lounge.... best ambience and seating. Weed aint great. Bang average. For weed I would go to Blue Lagoon on Overtoom. So if u want a good ambience and bad ass music then head over to Kashmir Lounge after 5pm......

I was just out there the last 5 days. Went completely by myself and still had a blast visiting all the coffeeshops and the hash museum. Wish i would've known you were out there too!
When I was first over too, a few years back, I went to Popeye and got bud. All it was, was mediocre bus spray with Strawberry and they called it Strawberry Haze
If u want a proper one.. visit the greenhouse , 2e kamer, boerenjongens, the corner, dampkring, those are some proper shops with good quality and price!

Been going there for 8 years LOL. It was shit before you even started going. I gave up going over 15 years ago. The hospitality over there went to shit. And then the no tobacco laws. Killed it for me. I feel sorry for you young pups who never saw it 30 years ago.
Went back to Amsterdam for ADE this year, was surprised to see Grey Area on your list. My favourite cafe was Tweede Kamer and Boerejongens, glad they lifted restrictions had a really good time!
Both picks are very good. Boerejongens also has larger shops outside the city center in West and Sloterdijk.

I went to Amsterdam recently and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go coffeeshops in my 3-night holiday but first night at the hotel a sweet honeymoon couple offered some puffs of a Jack sour, I think. Its origins was in The Old Church. So there I went and service was friendly and kind in any ways. Shop was pretty crowded even on late April so I can only imagine what kind of lines they have on August when all Europe has holidays.
Bro solo is the spot and the old Italian guy with the beard is a proper gentlemen. Glad you saw it for what it is 🏆

I was in Amsterdam last month and was surprised with how friendly the staff were in the coffeeshops, best in my opinion was DeKroon or the bulldog most of the bud I tried was 10/10

Yes I've been many times but my time going de kroon and it wasn't bad to be honest... we only jumped in cause we was flying out and want stay close for train journey to airport, but I do think I'll be going back again nice vibe was pretty busy but you'd expect that with its proximity to central station can't remember what I got but it was good some type of zkittles I think but bud tender was very nice young dude knew his stuff... I'd go to de kroon before I'd go to like 420

I sell Sunset Sherbet in Thailand for 420฿ which is in between 11€ and 12€. Organic grown in my farm. It’s a good one indeed!
I visited Amsterdam about 6 years ago and was recommended to visit Popeyes by a local. I really liked popeyes, the staff was very friendly. I don’t know how it is now. 😊
The women their made me feel well uncomfortable me and my misses didn’t rate the buds. Much better places to spend your money. There was one place where he said I can only smoke the bud I bought in there and I’d have to smoke the other stuff outside in -4 and snow up to my ankles. I laughed and said is that because you don’t want to show your customers the other stuff smells better than yours and walked out. It was up the road from black star some Jamaican coffeeshop

Solo has always been a great shop and still is. Prices are very good and the Indicas are just what you would want them to be
I’ve been going to the dam since 96. Not been since 2015. Kinda tempted to return and try moonrocks, dabs , extract etc. my favourite shops were homegrown fantasy, Betty boops, grey area, de damprink and blue velvet. I guess most are now closed. Great memories of that fine city!
Shame about the Grey Area. Had fond memories of it back in the 90's. In there for hours. Multiple pots of tea. Loads of types of hash in the chillum. Finally left mingled with dread 🙂
Me too. Spent many hours with the Chiefs at the counter from 2000-2010. I was a Chief and always had a spot at the counter. John, SD, billy, lots of good memories. Not Steve though, he sucked

Loved Grey Area like 2007-2013 when I was visiting. Them, Basjoes, 1e Huip and like Tweede Kammer were my favorites. Sure they were a bit more expensive and touristy, but their stuff was great. Not too many other shops had the trendy american strains. Friendly owner. On 4:20 20 april 2011 I think me and a local rolled a joint with 42 g of weed there lol. Pretty sure Cypress Hill were there too. Basjoes was my absolute favorite though to hang out in, or nes cafe. But 1e Huip for their hashish

Yeah just going to the “tourists” coffeshops, but yeah understand…. Worked there for few years and only went were locals where… still find good bud and cheaper with deals. But yeah not surprising that’s is way it is with laws they have… no wonder Spain is passing the Dutch , they can actually grow there. And wen that is possible the bud is excellent… very few in Holland can say the bud actually is what it says it is… my favourite was the Dampkrin and Amnesia from the “named” ones … a trick I learned while living/working there was “if don’t understand the costumer’s it’s must be good, it’s we’re locals go”…

What's up bro. I've been to Amsterdam back in 2002. It was for our honeymoon. It was only a few months after 9/11 happened. The people in Amsterdam were ALL so nice. They had sympathy for the US. We went to France later that trip and they were not even close as cool or nice. They said the US had it comin bro! Almost knocked out a dude but kept a cool head in a foreign country. Yo, we stayed at the Hotel Del Europe. It was waaay bf the US went rec/med so it was my first experience buying "bud" with my debit card... I'll never forget the hotel sending someone to the coffee shop for us one morning and brought us up some room service with some old school sticky White Widow, some really dank hash brownies. It was the dopest time. We came in March, not during tourist time. I know your laws have changed. I haven't had the chance to come back but dying too. We didn't want to leave! Your channel brings back memories everytime I put it on. Love your content brother!
Grey area for me will always be up there as one of the best! Was shocked to see you even put them on your list… made me question your credibility as a weedman 😂the blue lime pie may be Dutch but is leng and burns better than most calis out in dam. It’s hard to get certain cuts/ strains as a grower and they dealt with it proper an honestly labelled it as Dutch weed. and if they were dickheads could have easily tried to palm it off as something else. Also the original kosher kush was always a winner for me in grey
I used to have grey as my main, but the quality is not as it was anymore.
Also a bit expensive if you ask me. Got the kosher 3 weeks a go and was good, but not as tasty as it used to be.

Jolly joker was weirdly the nicest place in dam for me. Pick up elsewhere and drink a coffee and chill. Staff were super lovely, menu a bit dead but decent amnesia (amazingly) - vibes were just great
My favorite is Siberie. Just a nice chill little spot on a quiet street. Won't win awards for the choice but they treat you nice and has cool vibe. Can also buy any weight you like which is nice if you like to buy very small amounts to try.
My man knows the popeyes vanilla kush bs. Me and my bros bought a few gs and it made our clothes as well as anything we touched smell of vanilla.
Solo is my go-to. I was surprised to see it on this list. Me and the missus have only been dam a few times, but the long-haired dude remembered us on each visit after the first. Customer service is second to none. Makes a big difference, theres too many people working in the coffeeshops that are just plain rude.
Rick’s coffeeshop being closed gives me strength. It was the only coffeeshop that doesn’t even try to provide customer service it’s like a grilling
Some Grey Area workers are really rude, I experienced that as well. It's a shame they don't realize how important their service is in order to keep customers coming back and avoid negative feedback
like twenty years ago i visited a dutch coffeshop for the first time, it was in maastricht and you had to go in a small backroom, where a rocker sold the weed and just put a revolver on the table before giving me my order :D i was terrified :D

Green place is the best coffee shop in amsterdam in my opinion, the staff are friendly and the weed is good as well.

First time i was in amsterdam i went to the jolly joker, never heard of it before. saw 3 strains in total on the menu, white whidow, jack herrer and super silver haze and i thought because of the small menu that all the strains must be bangin then. like in a fine resteraunt. bought 1g and it was super bad. never went again. Coffeshop Solo tho is super chill, good staff, menu and cozy.
That bar/pub he is standing in front of the Jolly Joker does the best pint of Amstel in the whole of Amsterdam 10/10 would recommend

Grey area and voyagers was my favourite spots in dam the silver bubble and kosher from grey area was crazy and voyagers for the shoreline

Tbh with grey area their Dutch flower might be better than you’d expect, I think they’re a shop that’s kind by the Dutch for the Dutch and they don’t really like the place being packed with tourists so I think they do everything they can to put us off. Maybe get trash cali bits on purpose and try push the local grown stuff more. At least that’s my perspective on grey area. Maybe the £25 dutch bit was better than the cali they had or something. At the same time though I have had dud bud there before. The Jackie white (I think they used to grow themselves or some shit since they were the only ones that had it) was absolutely insane back in the day

When your used to all these different types of exotic bud and Cali, you gonna think all menus are boring! You don't know how good you have it!
Grey area was the best at one point .. the only place to have a usa option on there menu I'm talking what 15 years ago tho . Also it used to be the better the seating the worse the bud .. grey area had 1 small table and a bar to lean on
I love the solo Coffeeshop. In there works an old Lady from germany or Austria or some thing and she is such a lovely person
by wandering around in amsterdam like a toerist, i also walk in to "Solo" and it was great

ive never seen many peoples comments on the old church coffeeshop just by family first, but it was honestly an amazing experience on my last trip, bud was amazing and the service was great! love to hear other peoples thoughts on it?

Love this content!! Just got back from Amsterdam. I had a really poor vibe from Tyson 2.0. Didn’t end up buying any flower as the vibe from the workers wasn’t great at all. This channel really did help me so thank you so much!! I will be back soon, I’ve certainly been bitting by Amsterdam & now I’m hooked 😂.
I’ve had mixed feelings with the workers, cool vibes, although the first one I saw isn’t there no more (idk if he still works)
I went grey area when I was 17 in 2004. Surprised it’s still open but liked the place. Wasn’t the best but not the worst place I went to, that goes to a shop just before van dell park, was just down road from where we were staying but let’s just say I walked in saw the decour and grubby looking staff and turned around and walked out
Amsterdam vids are my favourite
So many of the big coffeeshops are unwelcoming, too busy, too expensive and not chill at all. There is a barneys farm coffeeshop for example, that sells their own strains like tangerine dream, which is great stuff but you just never want to get back there, they dont care at all about their customers because they got so many tourists coming all day long, they dont ahve to be friendly or have space to sit.

When I started going Dam it must have been around 98, back then Grey Area was the one! The Grey Haze they sold was famous, and I can attest to its amazingness. Grey area, La Cana, Abraxix, barneys. Weed has changed so much over the last 25 years

I've done Amsterdam quite a bit, I hit up the traditional Dutch coffee shops they sell unreal bud, Farmers Fuel was yummy
