    Personal pref: stage 1 over stage 2. Low wing had beautiful flow. I have a '17 Zo6 and love the look....UNLESS you get the Zo7 style wicker center piece imho😎

    The bigger wing would affect trap speed in the quarter, but help in the corners. So, depending on your driving preference😎

    Great exterior comparison! As an owner of a Z06 with Z07 upgrade I have the taller Stage 2 rear spoiler. Personally, I like the Stage 2 better but the GS overall styling is still awesome! I added an aftermarket transparent center wickerbill to fill in the center "void" and most importantly, to not obstruct any of my rear viewing capability from the interior cabin mirror. These center wickerbills also come in the darker smoke charcoal color, but again, will lessen your rear viewing capability esp when in reverse and at night. I errored on the side of safety here. There's also considerable differences in the Z06 front spoiler, Stage 2 or 3, to the GS's. Enjoy!

      Corvette Z06 I definitely like the clear wicker bill. I kinda want to add it to mine.

    Enjoyed the video, thanks! I actually checked out a new Grand Sport before buying my F430. Just like you mentioned,
    I’ve always leaned towards the European sports cars until the C7 came out. Anyway, fulfilled the Ferrari dream, and I love the car. However, I still find myself checking out the Vette. I initially thought about swapping the F430 for a 458, but I think I’ll probably end up keeping the F430, and buying a used Grand Sport or Z06 now that the prices are coming down as we approached the debut of the C8 (can’t wait to see it). I appreciate that Chevy is taking it to the next level!

      That is awesome! Congrats on your car! I am a huge fan of Ferrari. Ferrari and Lamborghini have always been my 2 favorite car makers since I was a kid.
      Yes, you can definitely find good deals on the C7 right now. That'd be really cool if you picked one up. I thought about selling my GS but I don't know. It's such a good looking car.
      Thanks for the comment!

    I tend towards simplicity....cleaner lines. I vote Stage 1. Also, I have to say, I like the GS wheels over the z06.....simply easier to keep clean. I have to agree with your summation of the C7 though......some of those lines harken back to the late 60s classic Vettes. And that charcoal gray......my favorite color in any car! You, amigo, are in an enviable position.

    Cool video. Love my Stage 1 Z06. Stage 2 rear wing looks better than the Z07 (transparent plastic deters a little bit) and the Stage 1. However, the stage 1 gives the least air resistance which is good for drag racing, 1/2 mile, 1 mile and top speed. If looks are more important and you road course it, then you want the Stage 2 or Z07 wing.

    • @FrontSeatDriver
      @FrontSeatDriver  6 лет назад

      Yeah. The stage 3 causes way too much drag. At Ron Fellows they all had stage 2. But I just enjoy using launch control so stage 1 is just fine for me. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @garycrumrine9538

    Is there a difference in side bolsters that you didn't point out? The Z06's look shorter and more tucked in towards the back.

    • @FrontSeatDriver
      @FrontSeatDriver  6 лет назад

      Gary Crumrine Are you referring to the side skirts? If so, yes. But they are available for both GS and Z06. Usually the stage 2 aero package has the ones that cut back towards the car. The ones like mine are stage 1. At least that's what I was told. But I have seen those on some of the Grand Sports exactly like mine.

  • @freedomlost6466
    @freedomlost6466 5 месяцев назад +1

    I would not do the stage one or stage 2 spoiler. Get the stage 3 and add the center wicker Bell. It looks amazing! I also like the side fender Vents and Hood on the Grand Sport better, but I wish the hood was taller. I have a Grand Sport with the lt4 supercharger on it and many other modifications like forged internals and it fits fine under the Stock hood.

      Thanks!! They are different but the full length skirts are available on the Grand Sport when it has the Z07 package.
      Mine was just a regular GS.
      I like the full length better though. I have a Z06 now that has the full length.
      One thing I missed was the hood vent. The Z06 has a vertical line in the center. The Stingray and Grand Sport do not.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @FrontSeatDriver
      @FrontSeatDriver  5 лет назад +1

      You would probably have to buy them separately. I know a lot of people buy the clear ones like the Z06 so I'm sure you could do the opposite.

    • @thehunter9149
      @thehunter9149 5 лет назад

      Front Seat Driver where does the stingray fall into all of this? Is it separate, or are these stingrays? I’m somebody who’s just started looking into these cars, and don’t know to much about them. The corvette is my dream car.

    • @FrontSeatDriver
      @FrontSeatDriver  5 лет назад

      To me the Grand Sport is the best option. You get the body of the Z06 but the power of the Stingray Z51. And most people don't need or can't handle 650 hp. Insurance will be cheaper on a GS as well. But if you're looking for a daily driver the Stingray would be just fine. If you do plan to take it to the track I would get a GS. of course all of this depends on your budget as well.

    Stage 1 looks better to me. Stage 2 is to over stated just my opinion, but like they say to each is own. The ZO6 is a more aggressive look of course so the stage 2 looks okay with that car, and the stage 1 looks okay on the Grand Sport. just as a disclaimer> I own a Stingray Z51 and I prefer the looks a practicality of that car for how I use the car. I don't race it and like the cylinder deactivation and 29 MPG on the highway. hope this qualify my opinion on the spoiler. '

  • @garycrumrine9538
    @garycrumrine9538 6 лет назад

    How bout the size of brakes? Supercharged versus not. There are many differences that are not addressed. People need to understand what the intended usage will be. The GS is a bridge model between the high HP track car persona of the Z06 and the Stingray. You have the look and feel of the Z06 with it's wide body, but without the complexity of the supercharger and in some cases the carbon fiber brakes etc. The Z06 wheels Will bolt onto a GS if that is the look you are going for. Many of the different pieces are interchangeable, and your GS CAN be updated with the Z06 pieces if you desire. Lastly you should have pointed out the differences in your side bolsters, as the Z06 had the stage II front splutter and side bolsters whereas the GS had the stage 1. These are options depending on how you spec your vehicle. I understand the desire to drive a car off the lot once the decision to purchase a Corvette is made, but to truly get the vehicle you want, the way you want it configured, takes some time to order the car exactly the way you want it. Everything else is a compromise.

    • @FrontSeatDriver
      @FrontSeatDriver  6 лет назад

      Yes. It was just about the visual differences since they have the same wide body. It wasn't intended to include Performance differences.

      Trust me, I'm as lazy as anyone and would love to have one of these new 10-speed autos but they attract a lot of people who shouldn't be driving powerful cars. I watched a vid here (on RUclips) where a woman was complaining about her boyfriend's Mustang GT350R because she couldn't "just aim it and go". Yes. That's an actual quote. Here in Florida we have more Corvettes than Mustangs, Camaros and Mopars. I've seen first hand what happens when someone with no real driving ability, or respect for the dangers, gets behind the wheel of a car with more than 400hp. I've seen countless morons driving new Hellcats and Z06s while talking on their phones, texting or drinking their caramel macchiatos. I think having to learn to drive a car more carefully is a step closer to having the maturity to do it safely (for themselves and the poor, unsuspecting other drivers on the road). My current Z06 has just under 800hp and I can't imagine having this kind of car with an automatic trans before I knew how to drive it carefully. Look at the new Demon and ZR1. Anyone with enough money can drive a 755-840hp car off the lot having never driven anything more powerful than a Kia Sorento! I think it's only a matter of time before enough people kill themselves (and others) and start suing the manufacturers for selling them the car. This is America, after all, the land of the litigious and home of the lawyer. I just hope were not all driving 155hp Corvettes again (remember 1985?) in ten years when the government steps in and decided to take control. All that seriousness aside, your vid was great. My cousin was the QC Director at the Corvette plant from 2004 to 2016 and we both gave you a thumbs up. Cheers.
