Thank you Nancy for the educational prose on the needles. I've heard several people say that they use the us 1 for socks but go down to a zero when knitting on the 9 inch circular because of a looser gauge or pain in the hand.
The different way that I have to hold the 9" causes my tension to loosen. I've heard.that some people it causes it to tighten. We're all individuals 🤓😆
My favorite sock needle is a 32” chiagoo, 2mm for magic loop. I only use the 9” circus for colorwork, but I don’t like purling with them, so heels, toes and cuffs are always done on a 32”. I have snapped so many size 0 wood needles, that I decided it was unfair of me to continue to use them. 😂 loving the Vlogmas.
I am really enjoying the vlogs this year as last year I watched them all in early January. Almost real time is far better! So cool to hear that you are part of the unique intersection of the Venn diagram of knitters and F1 watchers! It's Sunday and we're about to tune in and cheer for Charles LeClerc (me) and Fernando Alonzo (spousal unit). I get a lot of knitting done while watching!
It was a great race 🏁 I was happy, as a Lando fan 🤓 I have watched Vlogmas in January as well, but I agree, that the seasonal festivities are more enjoyable in December 🎄
@@knitsiphappy As a Ferrari fan, I was thrilled that it was close for the rivalry with McLaren down to the last lap. Lando did a great job. LeClerc went from 19th to 3rd so I'm pretty happy too! 🏎
Enjoying your Vlogmas. I use Chiaogoo needles for hats or for scarves instead of pins. For socks I use DPNs as that is what I learned and have been using for 60 years.
Thanks for the info on the needles you use. I haven't knit a pair of socks yet but looking forward to giving it a try. Love that circular needle case you have - looks great for keeping them organized.
Thank you for your sock needle show-and-tell; you're definitely an expert in that realm! I use Chiaogoo magic loop, either 2.00 or 2.25, for fingering socks. However, I haven't made more than a dozen pairs of fingering ones over the years. I may try the stiffer cable 9" ones. I gave away my mini set to a knitter who'd had hers stolen.
I'm a 9" circulars gal, and dpns are my second favorite. I've tried magic loop and two at a time on 16", but I have trouble with laddering on those, and all of the needle adjustments... 😅 LOL chicken tenders and salad...we have [carry out] pizza Fridays. Have a great weekend!
I've never tried the two 16" circulars or the flexi flips that everyone seems to be raving about these days. That's always our Friday night supper...which is tonight. Yay!!!
You may have a Canadian accent but those pesky English sayings pop out every so often😁. I'm enjoying your Vlogmas. We're being battered by high winds and rain storm Darragh 😱
Hi! I am straight from middle of USA, and i try to use "gobsmacked" as often as i can! I dont know how it was derived, but i know the meaning and i love it!
I’m so enjoying your vlogs. I am a bit behind, but am loving the moments that I can binge several episodes in a row. Would it be possible (not necessarily during vlogmas time) for you to just show you knitting something with the small circular needles. I have found it very difficult to actually hold the tiny needle tips and would love to see what your hands are doing when you are knitting with them. Another advantage of knitting with metal needles is that “my old eyes” find that the reflective quality of the metal helps me knit in low light situations and/or with dark yarn. Until the next time. Thank you for taking the time to make these vlogmas videos. vrede en vreugde
Thanks Linda...I've added it to my reminder list for Vlogmas. I have a sock tube on a set of 9" circulars so I just need to remember to set up my tripod 🥸
Hi Nancy, from a storm battered UK. Just a quick question. Your knitting needle case. Is it a particular make? Did you buy it locally or from the Internet? I need to find something like that for my needles. Thanks, Sheila x
The yarn may have been the vehicle, but it just helped a lovely person get there! You are a joy to all of us!
That's so lovely of you to say Rosemary 🥰
Thank you so much Nancy! I truly enjoyed getting to play your song🎵💖 Thank you for an amazing calming and inspiring vlogmas🤗🎄
I'm so enjoying yours as well Malene 💕 As you can see, I'm behind on comments.😆 I can't wait to see who your next podcaster of the day is ❣️
That is so cool! I want to see that video from the Playful Knitter. How sweet of her! The socks are beautiful!!
I love Malene's videos. Her style is lovely and gentle 💕
Oh I love that carol. How special!! Good info on needles. I’m working on determining what I prefer for what.
It really was so lovely 🎄 Yes...we are so individual about what feels good in our hands 🧶
Really enjoying these vlogs Nancy. The footage of your store is great. I need to make some wine. Lol. Thanks for all the sharing. Gail. 🇨🇦
Thanks Gail ❣️ It's another work day today, so I'm not sure what I'm going to show you 🤔

Thank you for your knitting needle opinions ( I’m always interested in what other knitters use) and I like your handy needle case too!
I love how we all have different preferences and favourites 🤓
Thanks Nancy. Catch you tomorrow. 😊
Yes you will❣️ Thanks for spending some time with me

Thank you Heather 💕 I love how we can all enjoy the same craft in very individual ways 🧶🧶

Warning...socks can be addictive 🤓🧦
The granny wrap looks a bit of fun wonderful:)
I'm enjoying making it...lovely and brainless which is just what December calls for 🎄🤓
@@knitsiphappyI think I need to make one even though I’m a bit late and I’d have to stash dive.

It's all still such personal preference though...Between gauge and how we hold our needles 🤓

She's lovely to watch with the music and seeing life in a different country 🎄

I try to use them as often as possible...they make me happy and make the Canadians wonder what I'm talking about 😆

Can you steer me in the right direction for the circular needle case? I've been looking for one like yours for years but I have not been successful.
It's from Knit Picks 🤓

I hope you didn't have too much damage and inconvenience Sheila. I put the link in the next Vlogmas for the needle case. It's Knit Picks 🤓
What do you use the 9 inch needles for? Why choose 9 inch over your long circulars?
Socks, sleeves.
Thanks for the question Diana and I hope you saw my answer 😊
