Hi from Virginia, just found your delightful podcast😊 There are not enough hours in the day to knit everything I dream of😊 I plan a winter and a summer project and then let inspiration fill in the gaps. Finished The Secret Garden last fall after it had been on the list for 2 years😊

I loved your vlogmas! I hope you do it again! Please dont ever feel like you have to entertain, and I say that without any vlogmas creating/filming experience. I love when vlogs are real and I loved seeing the beautiful home and things you created.
Also, check out Chelsea Yarns vlogmas. Its one of my favorites and I love every minute of the minutia.

Thanks for great ideas. In the past I normally wing it, knitting what I want all year. Mid way thru 2024 i started writing down seasonal to dos or wants. I have not thought of what I want to do in 2025 but I am certainly making notes in eveyones end of year podcasts and will work on mine soon.

New to your podcast and loving it! Just a tip, for when you don't have time/don't want to list each thing in the description. There is a transcript available for each video. It's usually listed at the bottom of the description area. This will give viewers a place to get the written version of the video so that they can just copy and paste for searching whatever pattern name, place, person, etc. I find it really helpful as I don't always hear well if there's any background noise. So I refer to transcripts to get a lot of information. Have a wonderful winter season.

Happy New year from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ❤. For me my knitting is done on an - as the mood takes me - style. I’ve often baby knits or requests from family to fit in or inspired knits from other knitters and that’s fine. I enjoy your podcast as it’s nice to see how knitters on almost the other side of the world fit in their knitting and the differences in lifestyle as well as what’s on the needles 🙂. Happy knitting. Have a happy healthy ’25.

Watching your podcast for the first time. I loved it. Thank you. I think I’m in a similar era as you. Wanting all the classic colours, classic pieces and more cardigans for me as I suddenly get hot unexpectedly. 😅 I loved your 2025 plans. For me it’s more about finishing my WIPs. With gift knitting I didn’t get to finish the things I started for myself. Looking forward to watching more of you.

Your yarney corner looks so cozy. I really like your instagram philosophy...and am heading that direction. I took it off of my phone...but somehow it's still there if I swipe a different way and I'm finding I'm drifting back into looking for it. Our pastor spoke about this and I am becoming more aware of the time wasted as well! I don't like the make nine goals either, but I do use ravelry more. I find I use my queue and especially the order of priority - so things that I know I want to knit are near the top with yarn ideas....and then in my favorites are a particular version of these patterns that I love. And periodically I'll go through and delete things as my feelings about them change.

So enjoyed this episode. I tend to wing it but that usually means I am all over the place with projects and not so great at finishing. What a great idea to make a “to do” list. I am thinking of following your lead and trying this. It would force me to sort out my WIP and yarn I bought last year and the rest of my stash and project wishes. I have been knitting for 28 years and just discovered knitting vid casts on RUclips. Yours is the fourth one I’ve sampled and the first one I watched all the way through. I am now going to try out some past videos.
Now: about your husband’s comment about your beautiful handspun on display and that you should do something with it….. there is nothing wrong with being a fibre collector. In fact I think you should KEEP your handspun on display (at least some of it) for your own enjoyment and as a memento of your accomplishment. About 15 years ago I made my own handspun. My BIL had sheep that needed to be sheared. I helped out, clean and carded the wool and spun it. I started with a drop spindle and then got a wheel. I hand dyed it with koolaid. It was so fun. I knit my BIL a hat and a few other hats for gifts. I knit a hat for myself out of the drop spindle yarn. It was so beautiful. I lost it. If I had any leftovers I have missed placed it. (Moved several times since then) I have nothing to show for all my work. I would love to have some to put on display. So you display and enjoy looking at it all you want.
Remember: us fibre enthusiasts are not just knitters/crocheters, we are collectors! There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone collects something that brings them joy. My collection contains some of the most beautiful yarn in the world as well as an impressive collection of fibre magazines and a few shelves of books and I LOVE IT!❤🧶❤️

I love your podcast and your bundle! I keep a list of patterns I want to do each year. Last year is all done and I hope for the same this year. This year I decided I'm going to learn to Steek as well but I said that last year. Maybe we can get a few of us together to do it together. My brother has been waiting so patiently for a Dude sweater and I really need to get over my fear and do it! But also there are new babies to knit for, one of my sons is moving to Wisconsin and I need to knit him ALL the things since he barely even needs a coat where we live currently. 😂 Thanks for sharing your bundle!

Hi Ashley. I, too, found your Vlogmas this past December. I enjoyed your daily farm and life adventures and look forward to more. I live on a small hobby farm in west central Wisconsin and for the second year in a row have no snow. Everything is brown! We have 3 horses, chickens and raise a couple of steers for the freezer.
My knitting plans include finishing a WHIP summer tee before March. Currently, I’m knitting fingerless mitts out of natural wool from Wild Rose Farm in Washington state. I have several skeins that were gifted to me and since they are a bit picky thought hats or gloves would be good choices for that fiber. Keep up the good work on your vlogs. I’ll be watching.

I think it's adorable. 😊 Look forward to your next podcast and happy knitting.

Great pattern choices!! I've knit both the Elven socks and the Summer Flowers patterns and can highly recommend them. Both are in heavy rotation in my wardrobe. Emma, from Woolly Mammoth fibres is in Ireland. I have purchased much from her and can honestly say I have never been disappointed with her product. Galway is a rustic yarn with a very specific pedigree. You'll be fascinated by her podcast all about this breed, it's rescue from the brink of extinction, and the special place it has in Irish history.

I am with you on the natural fibers. I still knit with superwash or a nylon blend for others, but for me, I want it to be all natural.

I just found your podcast, and I really find it so soothing and nice❣️I’ll be back for sure 💖
My plan for 2025 is to not have a plan 🤭
Had a make-nine for 2024 and it just cause stress, so no more of that
My way is impulse and go with my flow … so planning doesn’t really make sense for my creativity.
I do need a dress and I just started my journey to create my next tunic… so there is some kind of plan… wishing list with a quirk, so to speak 😉😉

I generally divide the year into 3 - winter knits, spring/summer knits and autumn. I’ll choose and adult garment, and 1 or 2 child sweaters, and add in socks, blanket squares, maybe a shawl or hat, and amigurumi or other toy. This leaves me room for joining KAL’s or CAL’s. I also try to include a year long, like a year of gnomes, or socks, or an advent like the Mitten Garland Advent Calendar that I’m doing this year. 24 colourwork mittens for an Advent calendar. For the kids.
But 3 times a year I do a pattern search and save faves. Mmyy favvss is getting insane on Ravelry! 😂. Time to thin?

Now that I am a more experienced knitter, if I like one of her colorwork patterns, I know I can use it for a base and make the necessary changes so that the pattern will fit properly with the yarn I chose.
