I like the extension connectors that let me connect two interchangeable cords together. I can use more than one cord to try garments on, I can use a connector to switch between cord lengths as the project changes (you connect the cord length you want to the cord length you are using, put the needle tip on the end, pull the cord length you have been using until the connector appears, disconnect it and reattach you needle tip to the new cord's other end).
Ditto I've really enjoyed your channel. Favourite needles are Hiya Hiya sharps in multiple lengths & sizes. Favourite yarn is Knitting for Olive Merino & silk mohair. Favourite pattern, too many to mention but loved the Felix cardigan. Favourite sewing pattern Jessica dress/ top by Sew me Something. Here's to lots of making in 2025. X ♥️
ChiaGoo red lace circular are my favorite. They will replacement each pair you have bought once. Very nice family owned company. Also when you buy a spoil of barber cord it makes an excellent little gift for another knitter and you still have loads for you.
Silicone tubing goons buy that for sure. My favourite sweater this year was also the Celeste. I have enjoyed your podcast right up there at the top, thank you for sharing.❤️
I concur that the lantern moon needles and cords are *chef's kiss* perfection. I already had knitpicks wooden and metal needle sets which I was thrilled to learn are compatible with the lantern moon swivel cords, but I've added some of the lantern moon needle tips to my growing collection because obviously sometimes you have like 3 projects that you're working on and they each use the same size and for some reason you need separate needles for all of them. I use all the different needle tips with my lantern moon cords and I'm delighted with all of it.
My favorite thing is the 3d printer yarn cake holder/ spinner my husband made me. I love it so much that knitting without is just a pain. So I had him make me 2 😅
hi there! well my absolute favorite for this year was a mini printer! I take a photo of my finished garment and put it next to all of my notes in my makers notebook. I do alot of gift and baby knits and sometimes forget what they looked like a year later. I just take the photo with my phone and send it to the mini printer! the mini paper has a sticky back so you just plop it in your book. thanks for all of your videos. I really enjoy watching them and get lots of inspiration from you. Happiest of New Years to you and your family!
Hi, from Maine. I had to laugh when you were talking about your neck light. Wednesday at my knitting class, I needed to pick-up stiches on navy yarn for socks. And could not SEE the stiches, I was lucky as my teacher helped pick up the stiches for me. But the point was everyone in the class was trying to help with suggestions to make this easier for me in the future. THE LIGHT was by far the hit of the class. I do have one, but never have used it for this. As I still have the other sock to do, I will be trying this out.
I laughed out loud when you were talking about the chiaogoo needle case. We were all thinking it! 😝 My favorite thing from last year were my mesh project bags from Della Q. ❤
love Chiagoo too! I have 1 40" size 8 needle and an interchangeable set. I have used that 40" many many times for garments or magic loop hats. I might give lantern moon a try although chiagoo bamboos are a favorite of mine as well! Always look forward to your vlogs!
Hi! Saw a friend request. I want to be your BEST friend. You’re awesome! Besides this podcast, I get great joy from a fun project bag. Some favorites this year were from Black Purl Magic (CANNOT leave the house without receiving a compliment), Renee at Black Mountain Yarn Shop (Chop Shop Stitch), and Five to Six Handmade. Also love the Lantern Moon needles, but occasionally like to use my pop of color Lykke needles. Others may already know this, but for those who don’t, you can use the good Lantern Moon cables with the Lykke needles. Mic drop.
Greetings from Ireland, and Happy New Year to You. I turned 50 in December and I treated myself to Sari's book and Oh my Word! I am nearly finished my first project, and yes, I will be knitting EVERYTHING in the book!
Love all the yarn and patterns you’ve chosen. So much inspiration for me! I don’t see or touch any of the yarns you share. Your opinion of them I trust enough to order them 😉TY
Great podcast! My favorite pattern is also the Celeste sweater, favorite needles Chiago interchangeable. I want to try the Sunday and double Sunday yarn.
I enjoy all of your podcasts but loved this one in particular! My most favorite thing of 2024 is my ChiaoGoo short tips. It has made knitting sleeves a joy. So much easier and faster than magic loop.
Friend, the way I forgot how to breathe when you said that the Grid Gambit was your favorite accessory from this year 😂 You are the best and I enjoy every minute of these videos where I feel like I get to spend time with you! 🥰
My Daedalus spinning wheel changed my life and I don't want to spin on anything else. I never imagined I could create such a consistent yarn as what I can get using the Starling
My favourite fibre tool I used in 2024 has to be my Electric Eel Wheel 6.1. It meant that I could ply my singles without having to treadle for hours, especially when making fingering weight yarn. There's a lot of yardage in those bobbins! 😅
My favorite tool is, for me, very handy because I am not great reading yarn weights. I have a little gauge from Katrinkles and it allows me to check yarn weights easily. I keep it in my notions pouch
My favourite thing by far was an interchangeable needle bag from Five to Six designs. It is the absolute perfect configuration to hold all my Chiagoo needles and cables in a small light package. It is also beautifully made. I can’t say enough about it!
Love your channel and my Chiao Goo red lace. My favorite thing besides the red lace is Chiao Goo wood interchangeables. Bonus: the cables are interchangeable with red lace cables too! 😊 love when you talk about yarn choice and you’re pushing me to explore more yarns. Thank you!
I recently came across your podcasts and I am in love. Thank you so much for all your work in making them. I am new to knitting but one of my 2024 favourites is my knitting light. It has been so helpful and inexpensive. I couldn’t live without it.
I wholeheartedly agree about the chiaogoo interchangeable needles. I love my full 4” tip set, plus I have 2 of the shortie sets. They are used all the time. One of my favorite patterns in 2024 was my There & Back Cardigan. I knit it in Wooldreamers Mota. It truly was a dream to knit with and I wear that cardi all the time. I had looked at the silicone tubing on Amazon & had hoped it would work as well as barber cord. So add to cart! And thank you for the yarn recs. I really want to try Sandnes Garn this year. I loved this recap!
Such a nice round up! My absolute favourite sew was the Kika dress by Fibre Mood. I made two, back to back because I found myself not wanting to take the first one off.
I have never understood silicone tubing. I have always found it creates a catch and it’s annoying to slide the stitches. I just use a cable connector to attach an extra cable, and then no risk of it falling off. I don’t like knitting with them, but the chiaogoo swivel cables are even easier to attach since you don’t need to twist the whole cable 🤷♀️
I agree with you - Sandnes Garn Sunday is a beautiful yarn. Soft enough to be next to skin yet has minimal pilling. Great colours and price. I prefer it to Double Sunday which pills a little more.
I love you for saying the chiaogoo case is ugly 😂 I think that almost every time I pull it out. Surely someone who agrees with us is selling a better case, I just haven’t looked seriously yet.
What a fun video! I am actually going to cheat and instead of my number one favorite thing, I am going to use categories too because I just can’t decide! 😅 Favorite Yarn: Sandness Garn Sunday and Tynn Silk (held together) Favorite Garment Pattern: Monday Sweater by Petite Knit Favorite accessory pattern: Vanilla Socks on 9” circular by Crazy Sock Lady Favorite Needles: Chiaogoos Sewing Pattern: Mini Charm bag by Shabby Fabrics Knitting Book: Doodle Directory by Jamie Lomax Tools: Notions Tins by Firefly Notes Knitting Podcasters: Youngfolk Knits, Marlene Knits, and Wool Needles Hands! ❤
Thanks kid, my favorite thing ? (Shows, yes I’m dating myself) by you and others. So much learned and an escape from… you know. Keep spreading the joy!
Hi Kaci! What is the brand of your knit light and where did you purchase it? I have one but the arms are longer and kind of a pain to get it to stay where I want to focus it.
You look amazing in your favorite outfit! 🤩One of my favourite finds is the book Craft psychology: how crafting promotes health by Dr Anne Kirketerp. I think everyone should read it and promote crafting and the joy and happiness it brings! Thank you for all the inspiration! 🧶❤️
