Hi Nancy, I started on your Splendiferous Socks today. I’m still pretty new to sock knitting. 6-7 vanilla socks and 1 color work and now your pattern. I’m really enjoying it. I can see myself making quite a few with different colors. 👍🏻❤️
He doesn't buy gifts at all 🤓 We haven't done gifts for each other for years. He doesn't enjoy shopping and why make him miserable buying things that I don't really want 😆 I hope you're loving your socks.🧦
Love your natural podcasting style Nancy. I discovered the Japanese art of gift wrapping here, on RUclips. It is facinating with a mathematical precision. I'm sure Brad will love it😂 Loved seeing the Christmas card trees, we don't have hardly any here. Love from Shetland x
Hi Nancy, I had to laugh out loud with your story about your first Christmas and Brad offering to help wrap presents……it was established very early in my marriage that I would be the ‘wrapper’….I think I would pass out if my husband offered. LOL
When I saw them dumping snow, I was wondering if it was a common thing I thought it was the perfect snippet to add in 🤓 Thanks for spending time with me Birgit 💕
wowza that garden center is amazing!. Glad the roofers finished. I was wanting a new cast on and just finished my first cuff on the Splendiferous sock pattern. I'm eager to start the leg patterning and usually I go for shorties but I plan to actually do a leg on this sock. Hope you have a great few days.I
Yay Sharon!!! Thanks for choosing Splendiferous and i hope you're loving knitting them 🧦 The garden centre is lovely all year, but they really go all out for Christmas 🎄
My husband loves wrapping the gifts (with a glass of red wine). He doesn’t do bows, ribbons and tags though. He lets me do that part. I can’t complain though it makes the job go so much faster especially as the family grows.
😂 wrapping gifts is one thing , but what about put together the kiddo’s toys (e.g. matchbox car tracks - a legend in our house). Thoroughly enjoying your vlogmas and loving seeing New Brunswick in winter. We spent a lot of October throughout your beautiful province and were completely taken by its beauty and ruralness (a perk in our books). 🥂
Can’t believe the roofers didn’t need all your crafting stuff moving after all! What an effort but maybe it’s a good excuse to have a tidy up? Possibly! Had to laugh about Brad and the present wrapping! My husband just let’s Christmas pass him by really and has no clue as to what goes on! X
I don't like wrapping either, but my husband is all thumbs for helping; he apologizes every year for how his gift to me is wrapped! He builds better fires in the fireplace. I guess we each have our strengths! Question: with your striped socks, what do you do with the in-progress skeins whilst knitting contrasting heels? Two at a time tangling is not great fun with four skeins jostling for position!!
I love to tease Brad about it, but I have zero expectations of any wrapping help 😆 I put the contrast yarns for the heels in a plastic baggy, so they are easy to keep organized 🧦
Hi Nancy, loved travelling around with you today. Your McArthur garden centre footage made me laugh. I am going to show it to my son's partner because she is a manager at a garden centre and this vglog is going to make her very happy she doesn't work there. Also you were wearing a deep maroon cardigan in part of your vglog. Could you pass on the pattern name please. Many thanks for my lunchtime entertainment, as usual. Sx
@knitsiphappy I think at work they start prepping the layout in September and she said at the weekend that she has already ordered the goods for Christmas 2025. She loves Christmas at home a d with usually but work is just overload.
Hello My name is Ken. I'm the gentleman that requested you to show your monstera to us all. I have to make a comment here regarding the plant. I think you mentioned that the plant was given to you as is. The problem occurs at the base of the plant. There appears that there is numerous rounds of string wound around it. An excessive amount. This is not good. Your plant is not growing and producing new foliage. The base of the stems are being choked. The stems can't expand and grow. Oxygen needed is being cut off. I would clip off all that string and if the plant still leans or flops over use some worsted weight yarn and do a few light wraps. Also the plant could be pot bound and needs a larger container. Other than that the leaves are in excellent condition. But no growth will happen until you cut the strings and perhaps report. 😮
The garden centre is beautiful. I have always wrapped the presents and written the cards. Nothing is going to change after 56 years!🇬🇧
For me either Elaine, but i love to tease Brad about it 😆
I have never seen the variegated poinsettias !! They are so pretty !!
I kind of wish that I had gotten one of those ones 🩷 They were all gorgeous
Ooh can’t wait to see the new sock
Loved the walk round the Garden Centre accompanied by the lovely music and oh such beautiful Poinsettia plants.😊
They were all stunning...it was so hard to pick which one to bring home 💕

I really like how you open your yarn advents, with the snap of a finger! I wish other vlogmas-ers did something quick and unique like that. :)
I'm trying to mix it up with snaps and opening them 🤓
Thank you for taking us today. I was hoping for another visit to that shop. It so lovely.
It's a lovely place to visit all year, but they do Christmas very well ❣️
Thanks Nancy, I'm really enjoying your vlogmas, lots of mixed interesting content and always fun xx

Haha wrapping story! I just “made” my husband do it today. He really is a much better wrapper anyway. Enjoying your vlogmas so much!
Yay!! Oh well done 👏 I don't have much to wrap really...I just love to tease Brad 😜
You do such a great vogmas. Enjoy you daily normalsies!

It's one of those things that is just the way it is! 😂
That Poinsetta is looking beautiful 😍. Very interesting to me ( living in Belgium) is the Snowdump , I had no idea . Love your Vlogmas 👍💜Carry on 😂🤣

Love the twisted rib
It looks so neat and tidy doesn't it?

That sounds like an excellent partnership 🍷

October is probably the best month to visit us. It's a lovely time of year! And you're right about the toy assembly ... not my forté
Gift. Bags. No wrapping needed 😊
I like your thinking 🤓😆🎁
Thanks Nancy. Didn’t miss the pork! 😢 See you soon. 😊
Thanks for hanging out 😊
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. ❤❤❤❤❤

I love to tease Brad about the promises made when he was young and infatuated 😆😆 i got my craft room basically put back together yesterday 🎉

@@knitsiphappyThat's a brilliant idea! Thank you for this solution.

Too much Christmas for your son's partner? 🤓 The cardigan was one i got in a grocery store about 6 or 7 years ago. I get so many comments on it 💕

Poinsettia plants are toxic to dogs so I would make your pretty pink one a countertop plant until the grandoggies have gone back home ❤
Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten about that! It will be lovely on my dining room table when they get here 💕
