I really like how the grain of the wood just popped out so beautifully. Another lovely piece, sir.

Your channel just appeared on my home page on RUclips, and I’m so glad it did! I’ve been binge-watching for two days! 😂 I’ve started at the beginning, and I see I have lots more to watch. I love watching you work, turning (pun intended!) chunks of wood and resin, etc., into gorgeous pieces. Brilliant work! With much respect from New York State in the US.

Some many many years ago a friend in NetNews lived in Colorado. He was growing a stand of aspen and dripped for several years color stain onto their roots. It, the bottle, hung on the tree and dripped and he had a tap into the tree also. Some trees did nicely others not. It colored the wood throughout the growth rings while he stained them. Martin

It's come out very nicely. I noted that the orange over the green was a beautiful bronze before you applied more coats. However, the final yellow coats brought it all together with some lovely colours.
    thanks

So did you make a second vase because the top was broken on the first one? Orange and green were switched and the grain pattern was a bit different on the first at the break.

    • @Oakleaf700

Probably not light fast, as made with edible products. Did once use blue food dye to tone down some yellowish horse hair..it did work a little but not at all permanent.

How about having a small, tall table by the headstock say on wheels with your stains, tools, chucks etc so that your not dashing off out of shot,,, I'm thinking candle sticks using the darker range of stains,,thanks. Regards Alf

Mumbly Peg was a game children played using Clothespins (colonial period/ sans spring)
Moms would paint them like people so they could be used as dolls. This meant they used lead based white paint. Lead based paint was banned in 1978.
During the spring town picnic women would gather to play their own games, one where the pins were attached to the line were plucked with one hand. The one with the most would win....the pins
Pins and bowling pins were shaped very similar, I don't know if there is a connection...off to find out in a second!
Last fact...............for now............. At the picnic women would also do a Fry Pan Toss. I never won the pegs, small hands but I just had to think of a man who made me mad and I would hit the distance by throwing it like a discus. The prize was usually the pan which was a HUGE deal at the time.
