Hey Kevin, thanks for sharing, do you recon you could compress the spring, remove the shock mount and then slide the boot and bump stop in position then reassemble or is there too much pressure from the strut? Any thoughts?... cheers... Chris
the car is all wheel drive so yes, the approach I took to get the room to rotate the strut out from under the fender was for me to take it off the axel
I used a pipe over my breaker bar to increase the length. Then knowing my weight I divide 340 by my weight to get the necessary length where I would need to position my feet on the length of pipe.
Not enough detail. You took the strut off. Then we see you put it back on. But no detail of what you did.and the camera set in one position. Some can't see what your doing.
Well done and thorough! Great high light on detail and explanation!
Thanks for the video! A lot people don't use a spring compressor for this job - was it necessary?
Thanks a lot, you're doing great!

I found that I had to take the whole strut assembly out in order to change the bump stop
Nice video!
You mean I have to pull the hub carrier off the splined axel ? Why ? So the strut will clear the fender during removal ?

interested to know how you re-torqued the hub to 340 ft lbs!
How did you get it off in the first place at that torque ?

@@VideoByPatrick I used a steel pipe over my breaker bar to give me the necessary leverage.
How many miles did the car have on it
it was at 65k miles and 12 years old
