Not sure there are new subclasses in destiny 2 maybe he would be one of those.

Well the new classes are having a void shield like Captain America's, a solar sword that shoots fire projectiles while in mid air, or an electrified staff and moving with rapid mobility

And these new subclasses are replacing Defender, Sunsinger, & Bladedancer.
