  • Over the Christmas holiday week, we managed to score a coveted table at Naples Florida's newest "jewel" of a restaurant on iconic 5th Avenue. Keeping it short, but sweet, come with us on this visit. Glad we were able to get here before we move to France!

Hi! I'm An Scott. I'm a happily retired 70 year old woman with my “golden years” on the horizon, living the “good life”, whatever that is on any given day, with my fun husband Jeff, and our “bossy” little Yorkie, Bella. In just a few months, in April, 2024, when Jeff retires, we are moving from SW Florida, in the good old USA to Nice, France to live out our “golden years” on the sunny Mediterranean coast of southern France, in Nice France.
Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”. Through my videos, we’ll be taking you through the process, sharing the steps, talking about what we’ve learned and the ups and the downs.
SUBSCRIBE, FOR FREE, to my channel and as we progress through the steps of doing that, you’ll be able to follow along through each stage of our preparation and then catch up with us, as we settle in to our new life. We might even have some information you’re going to need if you’re also planning a move to France (or the EU)
I hope you’ll subscribe to my channel, join our Facebook community, connect with me on social media and share your thoughts and comments here or there.

Lovely restaurant and the menu looks amazing, but if I had to pay that much for lunch, I'd be homeless. Thankfully, I became a Le Cordon Bleu-trained professional chef so I can make these dishes at a fraction of the price. That same meal, minus the drinks, would cost about $10 in Vietnam, though you certainly would not get the ambiance of such a beautiful place.

Yes, it is an amazing restaurant. We actually went there for dinner, but the items we had could also work for lunch. I don't know where in the world you live, but this is Naples, Florida. Dining out on "5th Avenue" the main street through downtown, is filled with restaurants serving fine food. Yes, it's pricey, but believe me when I say there are restaurants where it would cost us even more for less. We went to another wonderful restaurant, on 5th Ave, sat at the bar, had 3 glasses of wine, 2 for me, 1 for my husband and 2 appetizers that we shared. The check was $150 before tip! We never went back. Here in Naples, you don't go to 5th Avenue and expect an inexpensive meal. Every meal in the finer restaurants is a big "splurge" And yes, while I'm not a trained chef, I am a gourmet cook and could easily read a cookbook and make any of these things myself for a fraction of the price. I used to own a little French-themed restaurant and am very aware of the "cost" of food. It's about going out for a nice meal, and being served. In the last 10 years, my "fun" of regularly preparing 10 course dinner parties for friends and family several times a year, has come to a screeching halt. I no longer have the interest or energy, for that matter. While I do enjoy cooking, I hate cleaning up. For me, it's easier to make a reservation. Thanks for watching and your comment.
