We're back! ... sort of.. • I'm way too late with unit videos, as most of you probably are already well aware of the units by now. Since I started this series though, I might as well finish the remaining 3 civs. • I'm planning to make a few beginner-friendly videos, given the influx of players and the upcoming holiday season. Want to make some content for brand-new players joining our community. • I will be posting some videos in the holiday season - stay tuned, and bare with me as I cover beginning friendly content! :) Hope you've all been doing well.
it's very inaccurate to call Ayyubids " Arabian " civilizations, especially based of deep academic consensus, that the Ayyubid household which ruled their empire were known to be descendant from a family of Kurdish chieftains, even the age of empires IV lore touches into the origins of Saladin's family members and the household of Ayyub etc, not to mention Britannica and so on etc.
Thank you Age of Noob ! Yeah most of us are aware of the new units, but it’s always good to get a closer look and a clear explanation by you, as always, brilliant video and glad to see u back my friend !
The only thing we were looking forward to even more than the nerf to the Ayyubids: the video by Age of Noob. Your videos make it well worth the wait. :)
I love the concise videos, and I really appreciate that we get to hear the units name with the correct arabic pronounciation ! You forgot to mention how the tower of the sultan strikes terror in the mind of your opponent, and overall is the best psychological warfare weapon in the game. Keep up with the good vids !
make faction that use curved sword different from one that use straigth sword, like curved sword give bonus vs ligth armor, faster attack speed and bonus charge damage to cavalry while straigth sword has more range and bonus vs armored.
If you are facing an opponent with strong halbreds the regular Abassid camel archers are very strong. If you're facing Rus horseman or a primarily calvery based opponent then the Ayubid Desert Raider melee mode is pretty good. I'm not sure which would be better if facing really strong heavy Calv like the French. Oh also don't play Ayyubid vs Archer focused militaries. Desert Raiders melt vs things like archer, longbow, chukonu or landsknecht.
This video was originally a part of a larger video that was meant to cover all new units of all 6 civs. The unit I was referring to there was the Cheirosiphon of the Byzantines. :) I've augmented the original script and rerecorded some sections to make each civ a standalone video. That line slipped through the cracks.
@@AgeofNoob Ohh ok brother thank you! yeah you got me really excited because I love all the muslim civs and I was a huge fan of the greek fire from the byzantines. Was hoping ayyubids had something similar. Thank you brother and salam alykum! :)
Hey Age of Noob, first comment guess, if you could chose a European civ to be added in the future, what would it be? Personally the Danes, Venetians, Castilians or Polish are civs I’d be keen to see.
@@thefench1 While the Scots being in the game finally would be great (even if it was a variant), I struggle to come up with unique ideas for their civ to be distinct. I know the Scots had decent cavalry but better pikemen and cannons historically, and there could be a unique clan system and some highlander units in imperial age.
The main ones that need to be covered I think are the Vikings, Italians, Spanish, and Hungarians. If I have to pick, I'd say Vikings - they are liked by many and would make a good DLC campaign with other civs.
@@frederickiiholyromanempero6001 and they need to have a kind of buff activated by bagpipes , their units would weir kilts, and if they are a new civ fully ... you could explore something about druids
The dervishes are great fun for controlling the relics in the map. I don't really like using the tower of sultan, the cost effectiveness doesn't feel like there's a lot of situation where it would make sense to field them, feels like I'm better of with plain old rams with the same amount of resources. But in general I find the Ayubbids to be a bit buggy for some reason? the manjanik fireshots sometimes causes game slowdown/lag in a long game, and I'm not sure why but the Ayyubid villagers are unable to directly build the ends of stonewalls when you click to explicitly build it first, is it just me or are these known bugs?
Hey man... what this game needs is analysis... and statistics. Much similar to what Spirit of the Law is doing for AoE2. e.g. Which civ has the best spearmen in the game. E.G. best spearman army is Abbassid because of Phalanx, but best survivability goes to Limitanei because of shield wall. Which civ has the best man at arms, e.g Japanese Which food source gives you the fastest food. The Byzantine cisterns have a circular field and a square field, what each does? Alot of things are vague in this game.
The rulers' ethicity, Saladin and his father, Ayyub, were effectively Kurdish, but they ruled in Egypt and Syria which were (and still are) inhabited by Arabs
@@NolmanZ It doesn’t matter. Even ottomans ruled over Arab population more than Turkic one but no one call them Arabian civilization. They were a Kurdish dynasty.
I do agree to say that the whole dynasty was Kurdish, but the dynasty does not define the civilization. Your example about Ottoman does not really work in my opinion because the Ottoman Empire was firstly a turkic civilization and culture before invading Arabic lands and people.@@Genius766
@@NolmanZ in that logic even Abbasid and Unmayed are not Arabian civilizations? Because they invaded Byzantine and Sassanids land? "best psychological warfare weapon in the game" - nah, I'd still give that title to the Ottoman Great Bombard. 😎

Welcome back sir, you were missed.
Ranged infantry counts as infantry for the buff after killing units, the +2 got changed to +3 this patch for infantry support
The camel rider also does bonus vs cav, where the camel lancer doesn’t
Maganec does bonus vs buildings when in fire mode, and is Main reason to pick it.
Great video as always brother, thank you!

I love these videos on units, please keep making them !

Or until the studio decides to rework the OG Abbasids a bit

Hsy man, can I ask how do you play the enchanted glade and halloween biomes? They're not in the game anymore.
You can still download some crafted maps that used those biomes back in the day. Unfortunately, that's the only way currently.
Can you make a video about best settings for high performance and good image quality as well?
Wait, the bedouin swordsman bonus is only to infantry? It just says "melee" I would have assumed that includes melee cavalry.
tbh i hate playing against these civs because the units are too hard to recognize and counter.
When will they fixed the mounted samurai sword?
Size of the new tower is ridiculous.
you can add subtitle for your video?
