Hi Steve lovin the new channel, had the pleasure of trying a Hermitage 10 year old cognac today at my local wine shop awesome I think with a lot of things now days you get what you pay for. Oh didn’t buy a bottle came away with rum, but it’s on my list see if you can try a dram some where. Good luck more cognac vids please.
I love drinking Courvoisier neat! ! Brandy as well! Apple Jack Brandy or Calvados usually goes into a good cocktail. I have to say if I am drinking cognac neat I want it to be Courvoisier. Delicious. I absolutely prefer single malt scotch for the viscosity I can get and especially peated scotch but Courvoisier neat is fabulous! I prefer it to sipping a Brandy. Cheers!!
I’m with you on liking some of the younger brandies. They have more of that dried fruit flavor that bursts through instead of the vanilla and caramel from more barrel time. I feel that if you want the heavy vanilla you should try a good Bourbon where the new oak gives you lots of those flavors and with no “natural flavorings” added. Bourbon is pure by law.
As strictly a neat drinker I’m more likely to go with VSOP and XO as long as the price is right. I’m not paying over 150 so I’m probably going with under 50 for sure.
I'm mostly a novice with cognac, but I would like people to know that Hine VSOP is the bottle that sold me on it. If you find it, buy a bottle, you won't regret it.
Hi Steve ! I love the new Courvoisier retro packaging that re-creates the look of old Courvoisier bottles from the 1950's ! However, I did not like the re-formulation of their VS and VSOP. The previous generation (purple label bottles) VS and VSOP was so much better to me ! I am still hoping to try the new Courvoisier XO Royale and their new Extra. Steve, if you can try the Courvoisier VSOP Travel Edition. You can find it at the Duty Frees or maybe its available in the UK ? Travel Edition VSOP has no E-150 and it had a wonderful Calvados apple note to it. Cheers !
Whiskey can’t add sugar unless it’s Canadian. The only thing is that Scotch and Irish whisk(e)y can add caramel coloring. I think the reason you don’t like wine is that you don’t like acidity which makes the wine taste sour. Acidity is the main reason I can’t like a lot of spirits. I love acid in wine. 😊
I think the grape distillate tends to burn more when younger than sugar cane or even malted barley or corn/rye. I’m still learning about brandy, I’m mostly a whisky drinker and rum is the main malternative. I live in Portugal and we have lots of brandies here, wich is normal since we are mostly a wine producer.
I had not really had brandy except for in egg nog before I bough a little half pint of E&J XO. I just bought a bottle of Berneroy Calvados XO, Im excited to try it out. I only bought a 375ml bottle. I come from the bourbon/rye/corn whiskey world, though oroginally a fan of Yukon Jack. How would you recommend I start into the Calvados/apple brandy world?
Hi Steve I do like idea of few channels 😁 My drink of choice is always whisky, but as most of whisky drinkers I do have my alternative drinks. On second place it would be rum and third place belongs to brandy. Thanks for this content. Subscribed . Cheers
I am a new brandy lover and feel great to discover your channel and yeah, will learn a lot from you, advance thanks ya😊🎉
Thanks for these. I’m a scotch/whisky aficionado and have been wanting to diversify my portfolio. So thank you.
So excited for this channel! I love cognac/brandy/etc and I wish it got more recognition on RUclips! Thanks again :)
Thank you for the comment! Means a lot.
Just recently began to enjoy brandy. I'm drinking now to enjoy the taste instead of drinking to get drunk. Awesome new world

Hello Stevo! I've tried vsop Courvoisier but neither vs nor X0. I like vsop!😉🤝🙏🥂

I don’t know who you are nor why you’ve shown up on my feed (I don’t drink cognac or bandy), but I trust you.
I’m a very trustable guy…. 😇

Steve, enjoyed this and thank you for the great upload. New and enthusiastic subscriber here.
Thanks for joining me!
Loving this content Steve. Thank you. Interesting thoughts why brandy hasn't got the cocktail market like other spirits. Im keen to explore now!
Great to have you with me! 👍
better for sipping from a snifter
At $250 a bottle before taxes it should be delicious neat!!

Can't find those small bottles anywhere although many stores claim to carry them
just began following. didn't know they add sugar in...

Just love how the size of the bottles decrease in size as the price rises 😜 Inversely proportional if what I learnt in physics is correct 👨🏫
If you think i'm spending £250 on Booze just for a Video... you're sadly mistaken. *starts Patreon...* 😂

Malternative…I know who you watch! 😉😂👏
@@brandycognaccalvados haha yup!
I’m like the channel, definitely not enough channels on brandy. I’m fairly new to this category bit jave followed your rum content for a few years.
Thanks for watching!
Is weird, I dont mix a VSOP. I drink it neat.

The Berneroy is a good start. I mean just trying the Fine, the VSOP and the XO gives you an understanding of how age changes it 👍
