The amazing story of a father and son. The handing down of a legacy so great that it will change the world forever!
The real life story of a true Grandmaster, William Cheung, ie., Cheung Cheuk-hing. The master of masters, the ultimate fighter handing down his life knowledge to his son and disciple, Andrew Cheung.
This is the story of the sacred art of Wing Chun!
Wing Chun Kuen, usually called Wing Chun, is a concept-based traditional Southern Chinese Kung fu style and a form of self-defense, that requires quick arm movements and strong legs to defeat opponents. Softness and performance of techniques in a relaxed manner is fundamental to Wing Chun.
William Cheung or Cheung Cheuk-hing (張卓慶, pinyin: Zhāng Zhuóqìng), born October, 1940, is a Hong Kong Wing Chun kung fu practitioner and currently the Grandmaster of his lineage of Wing Chun, entitled Traditional Wing Chun (TWC). He also heads the sanctioning body of TWC, the Global Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Association (GTWCKFA). Cheung is responsible for introducing Bruce Lee to his master Ip Man when they were teenagers in Hong Kong.

Thankyou Grandmaster for spreading your knowledge.
He is no grandmaster 🤷♂️
Superb...the force created by living things that runs through all things....thank you Wing Chung
“You can’t put an average person on the streets with a bit of Muay Thai and expect them to defend themselves”…. Currently haven’t seen anyone win any kinda physical altercation with Wing Chun, but I’ve seen a decent amount of mma champions with Muay Thai backgrounds. Arrogant can’t begin to describe this guy’s mentality.
Yeah they dont know what they are talking about. I trained 1 year taiji in the last 1 month i trained boxing at the same time. I won the next sparring easy he cant defend a bad performed jab cross😂. As he couldnt win he used a wild swing that almost hit me that caused a cut over the eye. Guess who left the dojo
@@dayman161172 who would’ve thought the martial art that only focuses on punches would be so effective?!? Wing Chun practitioners don’t know anything about head movement. They’re head is such an easy target for a boxer.
@@Mustard_Dispenser in chinese martial arts the power come from the footwork ironically the boxer do that the best. In a streetfight u not necessarily need head movement if u have punching power. Wingchun has no power and has static posture. The opposite of boxing even bruce lee realized the superiority of boxen to wingchun
@@dayman161172 I think it’s important to have good head movement, or at least an understanding on how to avoid getting hit. That first attack could be the only they need on the streets. I think in order to be really prepared for an altercation, you need to know boxing, and probably bjj or wrestling. Learning self defense systems are too focused on specific scenarios. It’s better to learn how to deal with raw aggression, and I feel like most combat sports have mastered that. If adding eye gauging or ball strikes is the determining factor, I think a trained athlete/fighter can probably do it more efficiently. That’s just my opinion. I’ve competed at a high ammy level in Muay Thai, K1, and mma. I also have a background in traditional martial arts, so I have a good understanding of the bullshit people try and teach.
@@Mustard_Dispenser i train internal martial art and boxing and wrestling in a mma gym. There is a difference in a duel (ring cage mat) and selfdefense scenario. Being able to dodge is always good but sometime u cant.... in a selfdefense scenario maybe there is no space its dark or little drunk. Also you dont wanna grapple on the ground due to risk of beeing attacked by many. Grapple in clinch however is good.... my point is .... in a ring yeah ur right but on the street i dont wanna waste time its about Supprise attack
Sifu WC has made a great contribution towards wing chun and TCMA in Australia and he deserves our respect for that.
Control the elbow and go to the blind side is a free gift for all martial artists of all styles this interview.
In the 90’s, I remember William Cheung came to NY for a seminar because I
was studying Wing Chun within ‘his traditional system’ under one of his
top students. It started out as a nice seminar. Even Sifu Sonny
Whittmore was attending and he was assisting.
Well two things happened on that day which caused me to leave his supposed system.
First,
he was demonstrating a technique with Sonny. I don’t remember exactly
which one but suddenly William nearly went over because Sonny did
‘something’ out of character with the pre-planned movements. Everyone
immediately gasped as Sonny quickly stopped William from falling over.
After saving him, there were some quick courtesy bows exchanged between
the two and Sonny apologized. I always felt he did it purposely as a
test. At the least… it created a doubt. But we moved on.
Second-
He was showing us how to defend against a sweep kick from behind where
the attacker’s foot is basically hitting at the back of your foot’s
heel. His solution was to quickly shift the foot.
Well, my
intuition light bulb went off, because as I imagined it happening in
real time… as in… a FAST attack. I couldn’t get past the idea that you
would be able to shift your foot quickly enough. By that time… you’d be
on the floor is the way I envisioned it. Because it’s one thing in
slow motion for a class demo but quite another in real life.
So
I politely asked him: “Sigung… how do you defend if it’s happening
quickly?” (or something like that.) I don’t remember his answer, but
it was basically: “It works… don’t worry about it.” A few minutes
later while practicing the first form, he looked in my direction and
said: “Everyone, remember… if you ask questions about this system… you
don’t belong.”
He OBVIOUSLY meant that for me. It was a little
embarrassing. But it also pissed me off. I’m sorry… but this is
America and I’m PAYING YOU $350.
Needless to say… I now laugh
at his phony system. Remember, this was back in the 90’s with no
internet. My local teacher would tell us stories like: “William Cheung
learned ‘special moves’ from Yip Man. They were only taught to HIM”.
Apparently, when William lived with The Master, he was stirred from
sleep and told things like: “Tan Sao… not like this… but THIS.” This
was only for those DESERVING of the REAL WING CHUNG. This was the
TRADITIONAL system. LMAO. It always smelled funny to me and I knew it
was a PR stunt. To this day, it still goes on as to which Wing Chung is
the real one.
Doesn’t matter because it’s useless. Check on RUclips “Wing Chun vs. MMA”. USELESS.
Well I would not call it "useless" if that be the case i dont think anderson sylva would of trained with wing chun and plenty of other mma fighters as well. Go take a look at Qi La La, a well respected WingChun fighter. ruclips.net/channel/UC0LzjhkyPhd4esTVOFMk-Ag
@@williampabon1253 Dude, when Qi La La fights (and I give him credit for doing that) recognizable Wing Chun techniques go right out the window, his punches become wider, sloppy boxing techniques, and, all of the sudden, Wing Chun includes takedowns & submission holds, who knew?!
It’s the practitioner not the art
@@axelstone3131 no no... if an art is trash and a good, fit, aggressive fighter tries to use it and stick to it, it won't hold up in a fight against an equal fighter of anything proven to work.
it isn't useless, I was in quite a few other martial arts and had a close friend I would spar with for years before joining this lineage of wing chun, and after 6 mo, and then going back to spar with my friend, I was the one setting the pace, controlling the fight, getting the most hits in.
however, when I looked into his past... yeah he's lying, when Yip Man changed things, he let the whole school know, and did.. even WSL would acknowledge that. And speaking of traditional vs modified compare Leung Sheung to Wong Shun Leung's lineages and they're quite different, and both are quite different from the ip chung, LT and other lineages... everything is different and everything evolves, that's how things should be... no one got it perfect the first time and no one perfectly teaches what they learned.
The most humble teacher I know of, tells his students to go out and look at other martial arts, when they come back tell him 3 things they really liked about the art that his didn't have... he also insists that when people open up their own school, don't name it after him or what he taught, name it something else, teach it how they envision it could be better.
I've been reading two of Grandmaster Cheung's books and they are very helpful in learning wing chun. Along with RUclips videos and a book by James Yimm Lee, Grandmaster Cheung's books are a great source of knowledge. Many thanks master🙏

Awesome video. Had the privilege to attend a training session with Grand Master William Cheung. He teaches very well and is very knowledgeable in the system of Wing Chun. Training under my Master Johnny Clayton, a direct student of the GM, I have reached level 9. I love the benefits and principles of Wing Chun. Ming!
Johnny Clayton is excellent. One of Cheung's best students in the US.

Great video! My Sifu is your student Chris Serras. I’m so happy that I have found my Grand Masters channel. I am still training with my wooden dummy. So I’m so excited watch these videos. Thank you 🙏
i just realized the obvious by listening to this video. The late Bruce Lee's core martial art was Wing Chun. Later in life, he felt Wing Chun lacked mobility and hence would integrate foot movements from Western boxing into his Jeet Kune Do. But this was mostly because Bruce Lee was thinking about martial arts competition and sparring.
Wing Chun found its creation from a Buddhist nun, who constructed the martial art as an immediate means of self-defense for women and weaker persons. Yes, a lot of men are not born body builders and are of slight build.
I put two and two together by thinking about Defendu, a strictly aggressive self defense combative formed around Jujutsu, boxing, wrestling, and Savate by William Fairbairn.
Neither Wing Chun nor Defendu incorporated mobile footwork for the simple reason that personal self-defense was all about reacting to getting attacked. You didn't have time to spar nor get into boxing-type footwork. You were standing there and someone tried to cold-cock or blindside or sucker punch you. Your hands and arms were your immediate defense and you needed to end the attack within mere seconds. Your feet weren't going anywhere in those three seconds of assault and defense.
Had Wing Chun not been effective in its traditional form shown in the video, it would have never survived to the 20th century. Had Defendu not been successful on the streets of dangerous Shanghai in the early 20th century, it too would have quickly vanished instead of become the core study of today's modern military hand-to-hand combatives for many nations.
When you're contemplating immediate self-defense to sudden physical attack within one or two seconds, you're going to react with your hands and arms. You might be able to add in a low kick or knee but you won't be doing any sparring movements. That's for the competition ring.
How about the fight with Emin Boztepe when William Cheung was bragging about being the Top Dog in Wing Chun.
This was an awesome video. My Wife and I enjoyed it greatly. Gratitude.
Organised despair as a great man once said.
Wing Chun is a great system when in discussions and for sticky hands drills.

I love & respect the grand , I will always be devoted to Wing Chun
Well done I too have been under Grand master Dr Chan since 1979 and we discussed Ip Man his teacher and also william and how they both taught Bruce. This was a very good video THANK YOU
Very well done. 👏
Thank you very much!
Mahalo for this video! Gung Fu is also a term not only used in martial arts but used as a terms of doing something very well, ie, there are cooking Gung Fu masters and we'll say their cooking is good Gung Fu! So Willy Wu in the video has double good Gung Fu!!!
The explanations are very good here. There are so many videos where comments are made about how Wing Chun doesn't work and that tells me that people don't understand the concepts, elbow control, the blind side, where power, force and energy comes from and how it's applied. I think they look at WC as sport and don't realize it's much more lethal and poignant concepts especially when other disciplines are added into one's "toolbox" like boxing, kicking and grappling. So much is used by special forces and seen in Filipino close quarter combat. Also, I think in terms of fighting, there's no such thing as fighting per se unless it's for sport, ie boxing, tournaments...... A good "fight" is over in a few seconds. I believe Sifu William and his generation understood that and things weren't long and drawn out like we see in movies. When you ask specially trained people how are they trained to fight, many will say, that they don't fight and the layman doesn't understand that. The best "fight" is to use your legs and run or like Sijo Bruce said in Enter the Dragon, "the art of fighting without fighting" and Andy Cheung reiterated that near the end of the video.
I hope 🙏 and pray that you carry on your father's legacy.
This fella is shunned by the rest of the Wing Chun community around the world cause he makes things up. However, the positive thing that he did in his lifetime is help introduce Wing Chun to many people and those who follow him will be able to experience other Wing Chun artist to further their growth in this Martial art. So, what was once a cult of his has benefited others as well to introduce this martial art to the world if not in name.
I remember getting a book from my boss when I was in my 20’s. It was a book written by this GM. He has a very interesting history. I didn’t know he trained with IP man and Bruce Lee..🤷♂️👍🏽
As someone who once practiced William Cheung style Wing Chun, there’s several things here that are said that I just don’t really understand.
“Wing Chun is the only system made by a woman.” Other systems have this same kind of origin story, such as White Crane.
“No other martial art controls the elbow” plenty of southern styles use trapping, and many of them use joint locks and go for the elbow. Just, plenty in general, period. Really when I was taught, I was taught that Wing Chun has pretty much nothing unique, it’s just drilling the basics and fundamentals to an extreme which when you practice styles outside of Wing Chun you see similar things being done. But yeah, any system with trapping or grappling I’m sure controls the elbow…
“Every other style squares off and faces each other to fight. They do not use the blind side.” Many styles take a bladed stance, and keep some distance. Many styles pivot off the line of attack. Many styles use small angle adjustments to make an incoming strike miss and give you an opportunity to land one. Hip rotation for power is in itself a pivot that changes the line you’re on potentially. A good boxer is adept at positioning. They are going to move around. A boxing ring is not in the shape of a hallway and people don’t fight like side scrolling video games.
“Jabs are committed” Jabs can be committed, in many cases they aren’t. There’s different types of jabs and some are just a sting or a feeler rather than a lead straight kind of punch.
He just sounds like he doesn't know much about fighting or like he's ever really been in any kind of fighting or sparring situation; its like on blind faith that he believes the Wing Chun punch is super damaging...and has never really tested the mechanics.
@@thomasbrown3793 that GM is a fraud. He uses the fame of his fellow sifu and Bruce Lee. He is nothing other than Leung Ting doing Propaganda having a hierarchy System in his fighting style while actually he can't even fight.
Not wanting to bash on him, but he was a lazy student (according to his classmates). He also has no idea about other styles nor the origin of wing chun (the legendary story is a fairy tale). Still, he has some solid skills but his wing chun is heavily modified, some parts are made-up. I did start with his wing chun then I switched to WSL and later CST wing chung.
@@Bevallalom what was your motivation to going to csl from wsl?
@notusingmyname4791 possibly because as I'm getting older I can't rely on muscle and structure alone. As years went by I started to use more and more "internal" then "external ". Also it's good for my health. I'm pretty good with techniques, I learned other styles including boxing, kickboxing. I don't need more techniques 😀. I know what works for me. CST method gives me another perspective and I simply enjoy it. Recently I go to a Bujinkan dojo (yes its Japanese) and its fun to see when youngsters can't even move me if I don't let them... hehe. Try it and if you find it enjoyable then it's a win for you. But I think it's not for everyone.
Cool dude, just couldn’t rock with what he made up about Ip Man. Dude couldn’t remember the rest of the style so he made it up and said he learned a special version from Ip Sifu. WSL, Ip Ching and Ip Chun have all confirmed this as well.
The other story is that IP Man's sons were reported to be lazy and didn't train hard. And they were disowned because of that.
Thanks
Grandmaster William Cheung, I think you knew by grandfather also a martial arts expert. In Australia he was a preist and came to America when the Chinese built the train track. He left America to Australia to seek a different life. I watch my Grand Father practice Tai Chi and I saw him do things a normal person could not. He had super fast reflex and one day he fashion a small net and caught 5 birds flying in the air. At the end of the day he was cooking these sparrows wrapped in foil. I am now 72 and because of my Grandfather, I have been practicing almost all my life. My current art is Wing Chun. I put in 1.5 hours daily with standing Qigong in the horse with arms straight out. The longest i did was for 5 hours. I can feel and send Chi to people. So for me 40 mins Qigong is good enough to build strength. My Grandfather last name was Lee
Cool story bro
NAH! William never started WC in 1951 age 10... He is "mistaken". William joined after Wong Sheung Leung who began in 1954, age 18... William began in the later stage of Restaurant Workers Association, probably 1955 age of 14 but probably 15 ... not long afterward he introduced his friend Bruce Lee sometime in 1956. Cheung wrote elsewhere of Bruce being "still very young", yet he was only 6 weeks older than Bruce...
Good job sar 👍
I've been into martial arts since a child and I always wanted to know who created wing Chun and where the ideas of the form come from. It's one thing to be taught a form but it's different when you understand the concept of the teaching. So many assume a form is useless( ie aikido) because of the misunderstanding of the concept of the form. Who created Wing Chun and how did the form come to be?
🤔 so how many Grandmasters in Wing Chun kuen currently ?

Yes indeed he did but emmy boztepe was the equivalent of an mma fighter he was well trained in more than only wing chun .he was an amazing fighter younger and faster than William chung.
Emin Boztepe was a beast! Awesome power, aggression and dominance.
Not to take anything away from the Grandmaster, as i have much respect for him. However, the photo of a young Bruce Lee and William is not a real photo, as was originally a photo of Bruce Lee which was of Bruce's family, with his sister to his left so it is fake. I think i always questioned that particular photo, although i have no doubt the Grandmaster knew and trained with Bruce in Hong Kong before they both left for their own international destinations.

You already got me with the sound in the opening.
And to anyone caught in the "Wing-Chung sucks" thing I say:
FEEL THE GROOVE!
PS: If your goal is "being the most deadly" get an atomic bomb or train in Muay Thai.
PPS: If your most important goal in life is "being deadly", you should seek help from a psychiatrist. Doing a little bit of boxing for fun, good health and self improvement, I don't think there is anything wrong about that.
PPPS: My problem is that I use way too much words to say "the sky is blue". I probably should stop commenting at random RUclips videos!

You must be the stupidest person alive to keep training for 5 years with someone you considered a fraud. So, stop lying, if you really had trained with him for 5 years, first of all you would already be a Sifu yourself, and you'd talk with respect for your own Sifu. Unless of course you are completely worthless. There are people who have trained with him and have become instructors etc and now aren't any more affiliated with him, don't even like eg his financial policies etc, but still talk with respect about him, like for example Sifu Diddier or Johnny Clayton and so many others, so I don't know your purpose here, but what I know is that nothing of what you say has the slightest reliability. And by the way, who has told you that Masters spar with their students? Do you think Wong Shun Leung did? Or Dunkan Leung? Or Moe Yat? You don't know what you're talking about. Also, Masters don't even need to know how to fight, as long as they can teach you. Look at boxing for example, Cus D Amato, was Mike Tyson's trainer and best boxing coach ever. But he wasn't a fighter, he only had one amateur fight in his entire life in his early youth, which he lost. So kid, stop the nonsense and if you wish to see if Cheung's system is fake and fraud or not, go challenge his son Andrew (as GM William is now 80 years old) or someone else, like Keith Mazza or Antony Arnette or Philippe Redmond and so many others, they will be more than happy to show you if it works, as they've done with so many others. Till you do that, you're just an ignorant keyboard warrior and a huge liar too, so go back to the warmhole that you came from and shut up.
@@Mario-R-3232 So if William Cheung is like Cus D'mato, who is Cheung's Muhammad Ali? Which long time student of Cheung's has any kind of impressive fight record against the top professional fighters of his or her day?
@@BRUCEJJ66 Muhammad Ali was one and only, there never was one like him and there never will be. In my experience, Wing Chun, works very well against Wing Chun. That is my experience. Oh and everybody will tell you, they could beat Bruce...but they only said this after he had passed...NOT before! Keep training, keep smiling...
What a worthless comment. Perfect example of trying to sound smart by saying nothing.
Who would have won between master Cheung and master Wong Shao Lung Ms Ip senior student?
William Cheung easily
Emin Boztepe You Toube 🇹🇷
Victor Khan also good!
Yeah Emin did kick his ass, but I wouldn’t be proud if I’d done it in a similar style. I’m no fan of Bill’s, but the way Boztepe jumped him was a shit go. Not to mention that Cheung was 77 years old at the time and it’s basically the only thing he’s really known for, whereas Cheung is known as the legend that was a closed door student of Tony Jaa and was the only person that ever learned traditional wing chun, despite Tony being 125 years old at the time and simultaneously smoking half a pound of opium before lunchtime every day. Oh and also surprising that no one else ever convinced the old man to even show them the “traditional forms”, though I’m pretty certain he’d have broken every bone in his 178 year old body just trying… It’s also no coincidence that Hong Kong didn’t return to the motherland until long after Willy relocated to Australia, as apparently the politburo of the ccp didn’t want to risk having him as an enemy and possibly training all the other democracy protesters. You only need to look at the way his student chi blasted that tank at Tiananmen Square to realise just how dangerous Cheung, or “50~50 Willy” as his mates call him, can really be..
Talking to people that were there on both sides of the senario. William was jumped changing his shoes. The video captures Emin engaged and taking control. The video stops and doesnt capture William regaining control and throwing Emin off of him not all the student getting involved. Emin was challenged to a fighted by Grandmasters number one student and undefeated world champion Master Keith Mazza and was so scare of him that he claimed he had retired from competitions. Emin is a very dishonorable person who took advantage of a sittuation to weave a narrative and jump someone.
This guy should be made to pay back back all the money they have stolen from every student

That is absolutely true! Lee has been dead and rotted in his grave for many years.

I've done bjj for 2 years, intensively, it is very very good, but you need more, eg boxing and probably some legs, eg kick boxing, however, in blocking attacks with hands and attacking sensitive pressure points at the same time, nothing can match Wing Chun, not even pure shaolin, as long of course as you really practise it seriously and by a good instructor and not just do it for fun and claim you are a wing chun practitioner like most clowns do and get beaten all the time by MMA novices. I'm training together with MMA fighters for years, very few can beat me (in the ring), but probably none of them in a real street fight, in a life threatening situation in a dark alley, where it's either his life or mine. Needless to say that you also need to stay fit, go to the gym etc, martial arts alone wont help you in a nasty street fight if you aren't fit enough to survive for more than a couple of minutes.
The truth is he was never tought real internal WC.the only student who got the real internal WC was shung tin the longest students of yip man.this guy a total scammer
shung tin is also a scammer.. internal energy is the bullshit that only handles pressing type pressure not punching or sudden, one guy out of.. hundreds that I've touched hands with could make it work off of a couple jabs, and even then he had to go from multiple other martial arts to tai chi to make it work.
I'd like to see the son spar a decent boxer - he doesn't think boxers can throw short straights or hooks - he will find out the hard way - I can punch standing, sitting or lying down.
As he said a jab makes you open and it is too committed showed he dont know shit😂
Box do not shop the neck or spear the face .. Box is a sport isn't it?
@@edgarticas8719 it is but u need force so mechanic to do both. Wing chun has no punching power. If you can land a power jab u can do all
Great! Power punch key word to appreciate. Thanks
Truth
The people who were interviewed have no clue of boxing muaythai etc so they cant compare it to their system. A jab is also not a full commited punch. Its impossible to paksao a jab like everyone shows so its impossible to go to the blindside like that.
I don't think no other figure in wing chun comes close to tainting the art's reputation as much as Cheung has. Also, he's not a "grand master". Just a marketing ploy. Tells us all we need to know about this man.

Wilhelm Said elbow Wing Tai zuo xu jjao
Wing chun ih remind Cheung come on Don t to forget
To much propaganda. Wing chun was used vs normal kungfu style. Even from the normal kungfu masters there were really few who could use internal skills. It was just unlikely that a wing chun master from Hongkong would fight a neijia master from the north. Wing chun would have problems.
Thats why wing chun has to still develop to modern martial art styles
No.
What? Did you take fentanyl?
Don't U love this guy .I don't think he has not put one video out without Bruce Lee. This person no absolutely nothing about real internal wing Chun

Before that boy criticizes Muay Thai, he should at least fight a real Muay Thai fighter. And he should try to actually fight a Tang Lang or Hung-Ga fighter, both of which systems have in them many of the Wing Chun concepts. Moreover, there are many characteristics that an individual has to have, mentally and physically to be a good fighter.
William created your wing chun nobody knows what you doing

I've met William twice and Andrew once. William is all about money. Andrew is pretty bad arse.
His name is not "Grandmaster" anything. That would be a title bestowed on him by his peers, and if they had any sense they would never bestow it upon anyone who would refer to it as part of their name.
@ben esterberg Yes I know that, I said exactly that. My problem with him using it as part of his name is that it demonstrates a lack of humility and is unbecoming of someone in his position! That alone would make me find someone else to learn from!
@ben esterberg I was a student of Sifu Robert Lopez in Tucson for 5 or 6 years. In that time Chiu Chi Ling, and hung gar grandmaster, came to our school twice for week long seminars and just to hang out. Never once did he ask anyone to refer to him as "Grandmaster". Why? Because he's a humble guy who doesn't need attention or fawning over!
I agree. Show me a person who insists on being referred to as "grandmaster" or even "master", and I'll show you a person unworthy of such titles. They clearly haven't mastered their own egos.
if Prince can change his name into a symbol, then this guy can change his name to grandmaster....

WC is a delusional bunch. Boxing is far better than WC which has been proven countless time beaten by boxing in seconds KO.
if you fought Chuck Norris now you could settle the debate once and for all. Xu Xiao dong v. William Cheung would also be cool.
Bruce Lee modified Wing Chun kuen into JKD because he knew Wing Chun kuen was good but wasn't best.
To prove a point, more Wing Chun kuen stylists should compete in UFC fights to show the WORLD how awesome it is and how they can practice what they preach/teach by shutting down other fighters in seconds.
Wing Chun kuen master's teach their students in a straight up fight that they can win in 3 seconds, ask sifu Gary Lam.
No need to back it up Chuck Norris is a real fighter and has proven himself and his style.
@@bigpapaboomboom9735 I agree 👍🏻
@@bigpapaboomboom9735 yeah Chuck Norris only competed in point karate tournaments.
Point karate is what Bruce Lee called a glorified version of tag.

True. I am not sure about William Cheung, but i bet any cent i have Huang Chunliang aka Wong Shun-leung would have beaten the sh out of Chuck Norris in a street fight. Norris never was in a single fight during his life where punches to the head were allowed.
Bruce schooled Chuck Norris
And what evidence do you have about your daddy been in any real fights?
I think these guys are just a little confused. There are so so many other Systems that like to work on the opponents outside gate. Also the Ng Moi story has been proven to be false. GM Ip Chun admitted his father GM Ip Man made up the story

GM Victor Kan is the real deal when it comes to Ving Tsun. 95% of the wing chun I’ve encountered outside of GM Kan’s school is a joke: no power, no reality, no grounding, easily defeated by a boxer with basic sparring experience.
Good Ving Tsun is very rare, but when it’s good, it’s really good.
Happy training.
IS there sparring in vingt tsun
@@MohammedAmine-n9s that depends on who is teaching. . . Also, I practice boxing and judo, both have sparring. A Ving Tsun (wing chun) practitioner that doesn’t experience sparring with a boxer, is not training for reality or combat; they are merely enjoying the art and the benefits (health, etc). Boxing skills are prevalent in most modern fighting disciplines, and they are a practical, dangerous arsenal. It seems reasonable to understand how they work and explore realistic responses/solutions.
All martial artists should step into the ring with a trained boxer-it will quickly knock the fantasy out of a person.
I hope that helps.
Take care.

This is interesting well made film, though one has to ask why this Grandmaster Cheung was so very easily beaten in a fight in 1986 by a then novice Emin Boztepe if his Traditional Wing Chun is so practical and effective? Cheung after getting beaten never asked for a rematch, and made numerous lame excuses as to why he was so easily beaten. The son saying he would beat Bruce Lee and William himself saying he would LOL = a Wing Chun/Tsun then novice Emin Boztepe easily defeated William Cheung, so saying William could beat Bruce Lee is ABSURD!
First time I ever seen a Chinese man with an Australian accent.🤨
I often see the with British and German accents.
I watched a video clip in which this so called Grand master was beat up by another win chun practioner.
He just said no other martial art goes to the blind side or uses elbow control. Absolute rubbish. He is either lying or or is ignorant of other styles. Other styles do this. It us very common in kickboxing karate boxing etc etc. Enshin karate is a kyokushin derivitive that centres around this. The more wing chun guys talk the more they display their ignorance😂
