    The cam bouncing off the catwalk. Still in one piece. Epic! Not to mention the other vid I saw where a dude halfway up the stands picks up a piston with his leatherman. That has got to be about the best carnage I have ever seen! (if it is ever okay to consider engine carnage good) Ain't nobody can say you guys don't send everything you've got. That's for damn sure! Todd, you need a billet block! 250lbs of boost, with spray?! What did you expect man! EDIT: holy shit! The starter came apart so hard the armature was on the deck?! Damn! EDIT #2: I made my comment at about three minutes. I should have watched all the way before I made my billet block comment! LOLOLOL

    Damn! They HAVE TO put a screen or somethin around at least the engine compartments for the dyno.............it's been pretty fortunate for no injuries when Shredder and Godfather both let go in impressive fashion. Now of the safety speech, THAT WAS F$%#IN AWESOME!!!! Holy crap what a show Todd

  • @bcbloc02

    Man that sucks. The break line of that block at 6:40 shows there is a lot of area for strength improvement but the casting quality could be a lot better as well. Good quality cast breaks very fine and not super clumpy like that.

    • @pddofficial
      @pddofficial  3 года назад

      Agreed, there is room for improvement. This line of block has been discontinued. The wet competition blocks have a 300mpa material with a finer grain structure, but the wet cylinders/not solid cast is untested in our large 4.250" bore size so we stayed with the tried and true solid blocks.

    • @bcbloc02
      @bcbloc02 3 года назад

      @@pddofficial Sled pulling we started splitting blocks thru the head bolt holes about 15 years ago. Hard block cured it for awhile, then as power increased the deck plate debored 6.7 blocks became the go to solution. Then the break line moved down to the cam bore and things got a lot more catastrophic when they let go. Had a friend of mine split a solid comp block year before last just like yall did. For the most part when they took the weight off and lowered the hitch it made the trucks hard enough to hook that cylinder pressure rarely reaches the level of "boom" but for competition like you all are doing you will need something to hold a lot more.

    • @pddofficial

      Wastegates can melt open, but not shut. This engine has excellent thermal control with the water injection system, doesn't really do much melting of anything, just tulips stainless intake valves when the big power comes in.
