I owned a 68 TR-250...last year of that model...love the sound of the British 6 cylinder...Thank you for the nice vid...
Twin Carb TR6s sold in USA only put out 101HP. Much less than the fuel injected European market TR6s which had 150HP. Nevertheless, the USA models feel pretty strong.
Good job, I had a '73 same color with black interior, a special/custom roll bar fitted in Europe when the first owner took the car to Europe to tour around for a month. He sold it to me after his purchase of a 911 Carrera. It was a great car, with a great exhaust note.
Nice review. I’ve had my TR6 for 25 years and still a thrill every time I take it out.
Crown Imports in Saint Petersburg, Florida had the last one for sale in January 1977 for $6,200. Unfortunately, we settled for a BRG, Victory Edition TR7 for $4,995 POE. The TR6 was worth the extra money , but $6,200 in 1977 was a handsome amount. What nice memories. Thanks for the test drive.
Fantastic cars, have enjoyed mine for 36 years.
Had TR6s for years during the 80s - a 1969 and a 1972. That's how I learned to fix cars...
Really 'laid back' who enjoys his sports cars.....I'm envious.
I do more miles in my TR6 than any other in my collection. Great sports car.
Had a Spitfire...wanted a TR6! Yours is a beauty!
Thanks I looked a longtime for it
Nice review and ride. FYI, 1968's were TR5 (UK) or TR250 (US). I've owned a 69 for 30+ years.
World's greatest dash- solid walnut with black anodized dials!
Had a ‘76 TR6...loved it and hated parting with it.
I have a US import 1975 6 fitted with SU’s - no way does it develop 150 bhp and it might do 120mph going down a steep hill with a hurricane wind blowing behind it!
The early UK spec with Lucas petrol injection (Pi) produced 150bhp
Nice car
your my best subscriber
I used to own a 75 white TR6 with OD. Only the PI (petrol injection) TR6 had 150hp, the North American versions with the two Zenith Stromberg carbs had quite a bit less horsepower. And, yes, that steering wheel is aftermarket. Lovely car...jealous.
My wife and I are looking for a little date night convertible sports car this is on the short list.
U should try making it a project car
I have a 75 with overdrive in the same original condition. Curious what you think yours is worth?
Sorry Dave, missed this. There was a local car same mileage and original which sold on Bring a trailer for $32K, that may have been just the right combination of bidders. I looked at the cat and it was not as nice as mine. Hope that helps
@@americandreamgarage3054 Thanks for the reply. I assume you are in US? (35US would be close to 45CAD) Better up my insurance😁
Why is it 150 hp 0-60 8 sec. if it’s original?
Why are you not wearing your seat belt? Lovely car.
forget sometimes but not very mush. Thanks for reminder
The twin carbs were not 150hp
US models didn't have fuel injection and horsepower was around 100 .. pathetic. Show us your 0-60?
