It’s taken me over 2 years now and I still need to do one last very serious purge. I just packed another bag for donation now! Why am I hanging on to 20 pairs of tights from my days in the Midwest-US when I live in the desert now. Ugh.
I went through some items again yesterday and today and can’t believe how much more I still need to purge. I was feeling pretty good after my huge purge but I think I realized another huge purge is needed. Just filled 5 bags of donations and garbage.
With that red top that you tuck in, I'd give it a couple of saving stitches to stop that hole getting bigger. It looks like georgette, so hopefully you can do them loose so it doesn't pucker.
Random, but your hair and the color of it are so gorgeous, the warm color just makes your face glow! And also, love your decluttering videos. Relaxing to watch whenever, and motivating when I'm needing to do the same
Thankfully I learned to alter my own clothes in high school & since then. I’ve always been fascinated by how clothes are made. That’s been a huge blessing for me personally because like a lot of women, my body is NOT just one size! That’s a myth made by the clothing manufacturers. I’m large busted, long torso, & short legs. I have always carried most of my weight in my hips & thighs. Clothing is generally designed for an underdeveloped young woman who’s generally not the average weight as the average population that clothing is being bought by. So, thankfully I can make my wardrobe fit me better in clothing that I like, other than the uniforms that I wear at work that are geared towards a lot different body type than mine!
I used to have a friend and she had 3 pr jeans, a pair of good black pants, about 5 tops, one dress ( for a wedding or dinner out) And a dress jacket, a sweater, and a winter coat. That was all she owned! She did have anout 6 pr of shoes. Lol They were wealthy. But, she sure didnt spend money on clothes. She always looked clean, neat, polished and pretty. I don't think I ever saw her stressed out. She was a true minimalist!
So motivational. Honestly love your videos. My closet has been decluttered a thousand times and I so want to pair down to clothes I actually wear. You’re the best!
I can't emphasize enough how the view outside the window is beautiful, you may live in L.A. but it feels like the country. Seing the breeze out the window and the expense of the glass, to wake up in the morning with that view of lush green. WOW! Not a lot of people have that in a city, especially N.Y. It is soothing, so relaxing. I like the impractical handbag, I would see it as an item to display on the tall shelf you have, so your accessories are on display like a boutique; your own boutique! We love your vibe, your smile. You communicate very well, I would see you as a weather lady on the tv.
Ya Carla is back! I did a major Dr clutter project and gave 10 bags to a thrift store. I I felt the relief so immediately. Once again, start refilling in the other bag and hopefully will make another big trip by the end of the year 🎉♥️

At 17:17 the impractical (but super cute) bag you could do what I do with old baskets and put dried flowers/greenery on them and hang them on thewall or put them on a table looks very cute and it's a way to use them as decor
I just started the top shelf stuff in my closet yesterday and already got rid of two small boxes. (Mostly “fantasy “ crafts I’ll never do) now on to the floor since I may be able to move it up onto the shelf. Always good to reevaluate your belongings. I like your idea of upgrading the stay at home wardrobe. Why can’t I wear cute but comfortable instead of stuff that is stained, has holes or just NOT flattering. Always good spending time with you 😉

Carla....watching you try on several hats, scarves, etc...dark colors and rich jewel tones (dark or vibrant versions of blue, purple, hunter green, burgundy) are definitely your colors. Pale / pastel versions of those same colors wash you out, and yellows, oranges clash a bit with your undertone (at least on screen). I agree, animal print in brown / black is also a winner!
Absolutely love this process you undertake regularly. Your clothes rack is one of my fave things about your place, and the neat little group of dresses and jumpers (sweaters). That capsule wardrobe is fabulous. I am at home a lot and struggle with the whole leisure wear/neat relaxed combo. I’m keen to see your investment in new leisurewear. It's totally ok to save some things that you're not sure you're ready to give up yet. I have a "Time will Tell" box - right now it's a Banker's Box - of clothes that I'm just not sure about - I put a post-it note with the date and check back in 3-6 months to make a decision about them

What I like you don't have a lot but you don't go overboard buying and collecting and filling your wardrobe with stuff you never use. Most of us have closets five times fuller and don't know what we have in there lol ❤

Wrap dresses work great for me too. I am a size 4 on top and 8 on bottom, so it's hard to find dresses that fit the bust and have enough room in the hips. Wrap dresses just seem to work so well for this. ❤
That gorgeous deep pink wrap dress would also look amazing worn over wide leg pants or bootleg jeans with a cute boot or strappy sandal when you want to show a little décolletage but feel more covered up from the waist down. Tres chic! But I bet it also looks killer on you as a dress. That color is beautiful! ❤
Great video! I have to admit that it is surprising to me that you are still able to find stuff to de clutter in your home. However, sometimes you’re not ready to get rid of stuff on the first round and the next time you declutter you can let it go. I have become a mini hoarder but I still find your videos motivating and relatable. Give Sampson a little rub for me.
liked the thought process behind each item/decision. I like things modest for me personally so things like crop tops I don't tend to buy but could be worn over a dress so no midriff revealed and tops that are too low cut or plunging either safety pin closed like a wrap top or wear a top underneath for that extra coverage. When I declutter I also have a mend/repair and alter box for things that need alteration like hems or sleeves or side seems and upcycle
Love your videos so much 😭🥰🥰 A long dresser with 6 drawers was a truly a game changer for me. After I decluttered, everything besides my nice hanging clothes fit into it, and there’s room to spare. I can keep track of everything, and know where I need to add (and subtract) as well! 😄

Depends on the overall condition but those little tears can be darned up pretty easily and then you can extend the life of your item!

I hang up almost everything and only fold sweatshirts, sweaters, and shorts. Sort by color and use matching hangers too!
