    What do you all think of the high level combat? Does it look exciting?
    This was original part of a livestream but turned into a video. So, if you see me pausing a bunch or talking to someone that is why. I was looking and responding to chat. Also skip a few seconds into the video!
    And for those who are looking for the high level combat here it is: ruclips.net/video/O2UEqn38s9U/видео.html
    It is unlisted so it won't appear on the Dragon Age RUclips channel.

      @@Knight1029 for sure I am glad people are getting excited about it. Different games for different people. I prefer something a bit more strategic and less button masher. Also the party seems small and I would prefer more control over them, unless the ai is really good. I am not a huge fan of how the characters look. I am liking the atmosphere in the game more. The environment seems well done.
      I just prefer RPGs with deeper story, more strategic combat and deep interaction with party members. Does not have to be romantic if they don’t want that in the game.
      I am keeping an eye on it but doesn’t look like a good fit for me.

      @@christopherr.561 I am certainly happy with what we are seeing so far. It looks pretty good.
      I can get wanting it to be a bit more strategic. Personally, the only reason I want DAO combat back is so the series has a consistent combat style. Not because I like DAO's combat style. But that is just me.
      What don't you like about the look of the characters?
      I think DAV will do fine on the deep story and deep interaction with the party. Bioware has always been good on that front.
      I definitely will look forward to it. I hope there is something for you in the game.

      @@Knight1029 I think in some instances they look a bit cartoonish and that certainly doesn’t help me with immersion. There are clips where they look fine and then others where it completely pulls me out. This could be due to video edits just catching them at the wrong time for me and it might not be an issue in real time. We shall see. I certainly won’t get it at release but will watch some videos reviews and my favorite RUclipsrs play it and see what they are thinking, since they will care about what I do for the most part.

    I absolutely love the combat look. it is so much more tactical than I initially thought it would be and the abilities look so great. The shield bash and kick are really cool and also the chain to pull enemies toward you. I like how all the companions and Rooks abilities play off each other to do more damage as well. I am even more excited now after seeing this. Also, the finishers like they had in origins are cool too. It looks so smooth and fluid too. I cannot wait to see more mage play in high level. Hype level definitely increased after this reveal.

    I think this looked so much more fun than that first gameplay video which is predictable since that was a tutorial. Besides the changes to companions this looks like a great progression to the combat they made in Inquisition because of all the new options for basic attack light, heavy, jumping, and sprinting attacks! Maybe next we'll see attacks that launch into the sky and I'll be able to pull out a bow and snipe them in the middle of the air. I'm still looking out for the ff12 inspiration so far I've only noticed it in when they talk about how the different classes build their ability meter in different ways. A warrior building rage by taking and dealing damage is how a melee class such as Knight would build their mana back in ff12.

    • @Knight1029
      @Knight1029  Месяц назад +1

      Obviously, the first gameplay reveal was just showing it off. Which I think is fine. But we did need to see how the gameplay would progress as the game went on. And I think this high level combat was a good showcase of that.
      The combat looks like it is shaping up really nicely.
      Also just look up a bit of FF12 and I can see some comparison. Obviously not a 1 to 1 since FF12 is somewhat turn-based. Still an interesting comparison.

    Jeez what is going on with Bioware's marketing team!? They really should have had one of the devs talking over the gameplay explaining the combat and mechanics as opposed the wall of text on the side. How am I able to watch the gameplay when my eye's are being constantly draw to the text? Not really the best move. Wish they would have shown High level rogue and mage as well. Also this has been edited to avoid spoilers, then proceeds to tell a spoiler.🤦‍♂ Are the devs even aware of how the game is being marketed?

    • @Knight1029
      @Knight1029  Месяц назад +2

      When I first heard they were gonna show high level combat I imagined someone was gonna talk over it. But apparently not.
      As for high level mage and rogue they said they are gonna do it another time. Which I think is fine.
      Yeah that "edited to avoid spoilers" then proceeds to say "Elven god and her Archdemon are attacking" is an odd choice.
      Bioware has never been really good at marketing. Looking at old DAO marketing makes the game seem to be an action game with some story.
      The only time the marketing was fairly accurate for a Bioware game was with Mass Effect.

      I appreciate the text as that is easier for me to pause and fully process with my ADHD, but the major spoiler that needed no explanation was a bad choice. It would have been way better to allow people to continue to speculate about that. Although... the fact that it appears to be a totally different dragon from the other 4 we've seen is fascinating!

    I am someone who very much prefers the combat system in Mass Effect more than Dragon Age. So, I love this. Dragon Age combat (at least in my opinion) was always either boring and tedious. I tolerated it for the story. It's not like I don't like strategic games either because I love BG3 combat.

    • @oliwierwagrowski3176
      @oliwierwagrowski3176 Месяц назад +4

      To be honest I highly preferred the original Baldurs Gate 1/2 combat than Dragon Age, it felt heavily dumbed down and they were so scared to go more action like they intended and just gone back to more tactical with Inquisition. I'm happy they're actually focusing on what they wanted with Dragon Age and are not pressured by fans to do what they want and give us a half-baked tactic system which no one will use

      @@oliwierwagrowski3176 BG1&2 could be tidious at times, at least for me. Mostly because I would get jumped so so often, I just wanted to stop fighting and get on with the story. However, It was definitely a far more complex combat system than any Dragon Age had, therefore forcing it to be more engagable. I think this is a nice change for the DA series. The combat actually looks fun and engaging.

I hate the first Baldurs Gate because it's the most boring game I ever played, Siege of Dragonspear made me literally jump from the chair because how good it was compared to the base game. BG2 on the top tho, still I'm hyped for Mage combat in Veilguard, always played as a Mage and I ain't changing

      @MrDay53 Месяц назад +2

      @@oliwierwagrowski3176 To be honest they didn't really go more tactical with Inquisition. Sure they brought the tactical camera back but most never used it because I don't think there was ever a need to use it except for maybe some of the dragon fights. Also the tactics system was heavily simplified in Inquisition. I personally would say that Inquisition is an ARPG with the illusion of tactics.
