Feelings
Bekannt wurde Kinga Glyk mit einer Version von Eric Clapton’s Ballade „Tears in Heaven“, die inzwischen über 2-millionen-fach auf RUclips geklickt wurde. Seitdem schwärmt die Jazz-Welt von der gerade einmal 24-jährigen Bassistin, die von sich selbst sagt: „Als Kind interessierte ich mich für den Bass, weil er mir eine ungewohnt kraftvolle Stimme gab, […] Inzwischen sind seine Sounds längst zu meiner eigentlichen Sprache geworden, in der ich meine Empfindungen intensiver ausdrücken kann.“
Die junge Polin schreibt seither Schlagzeilen, begeistert mit ihrer frischen, unverbrauchten Art europaweit in Clubs und auf großen Festivals ihr Publikum. Sie mischt in einem männerdominierten Instrumentalistenkreis selbstbewusst mit und katapultiert den Jazz in eine neue Umlaufbahn. Den Bass macht Glyk dabei zum Ventil ihrer Emotionen und lässt ihn mit einzigartiger Kunstfertigkeit Geschichten erzählen, die in ihrem Album „Feelings“ meist aus ihrer eigenen Feder stammen. Feinsinnig und nuancenreich setzt Glyk ihr Storytelling in Szene und stellt auf kraftvolle Art eine Verbindung zu ihrer Zuhörerschaft her. Dabei beweist sie ganz klar: Jazz ist auch etwas für junge Menschen.

@@rivernet62 Well if i look at a ass...sorry, bass-player, I normally check out the fingers and the technique, but sometimes things distracts me and it's not to be disrespectful to her superplaying. But today it's like if you appreciate a woman's look you are a nasty macho man. But if a woman does (and sure they do) it's totally okay.

Have seen her years ago in a small venue in my hometown. Amazing how she developed from brilliant to worldclass. Waiting for projects with sort of valeriy stepanov, jesus molina, domi degalle….the sky is the limit for these next gen players and they deserve all of our respect!
My dream is to see Kinga or even Tal Wilkenfeld work with Valeriy Stepanov
I love the sound of that. bass and of course her playing. .Having 2 keyboard players and no guitars makes a unique sound.....and the whole band is so precise and tight..

Ok ok I know ... the music ... but Kinga's outfit was in my focus during the whole concert. Special thanks for it. - Then I have listened the concert without "disturbing sight" this evening and it was beautiful indeed. I dream the Christmas eve in my mind as this music sounds like.
When I hear Mr Brown's drum(roll)s, I'm hearing Billy Cobham. I fell in love with fusion jazz through hiphop. At 52 I'm more in favor of the former and I think it's awesome to see some young people keeping the genre alive. With that I mean: Feeding inspiration to others. Because imho no genre fed popular music like R&b, hiphop and house more than fusion jazz and funk.
And so do Kinga and her band....imho

Funny how you don't see current videos of Stanley Clark, Stu Hamn, Billy Sheehan or Wooten,... heck not even Tal.... so many great bassists! This girl at least fits herself into the music without just dominating with solos,... very musical. Hey look,... I'm writing a review from my home in Calif! LOL.... no one cares what I or any of the other people think who "Blah-blah" about this performance,... so good job!
All are great musicians but Kinga is on a completely other level.

@@alexanderwintermeyer9431 Hast recht: die Vorlage war eher noch Rick James mit "Super Freak". Ich mag beide Songs nicht besonders. Deshalb finde ich auch, dass es zu den weniger starken Stücken von Kinga gehört. Vielleicht kommt es deshalb auch gleich am Anfang. Die Band ist immer stark, wenn es funky oder experimentell wird. Mainstream Pop passt garnicht zu ihr. Und ihre religiös-missionarischen Seiten mögen zwar "typisch polnisch" sein. Kommt aber auch nicht überall gut an. Es gibt Life-Aufnahmen von ihr, da macht sie das sogar in Indonesien. Finde ich etwas deplaziert, ehrlich gesagt. Möglicherweise ist es genau das, was Herrn Murat Tamer (ganz unten) so gestört hat. Keine Ahnung.
