- Today I'm building a huge vanilla international airport in Cities: Skylines [Campus DLC] [Tutorial] [Speedbuild]
I'm using no mods for that. The airport will have a big passenger terminal and a cargo terminal. The island is connected to the mainland with a highway bridge.

Very very nice! I'd like to add a trainstation and cargotrain-station to make it more effective. this island askes for a ferry connection to the city, as well as to use the subway station.

How exactly do you do that, being able to build without in 1 camera angle without zooming in and what not. Is there a mod for that to do video recording time lapse from 1 camera angle?

Then it doesnt move but you can build
Amazing work. You should use Move It mod and select everything and export it. Then you can open the asset editor and use Move It mod to import it and save it as an asset and share it to the workshop.
Can you try building the DFW Airport In the City?
It ay be the Most difficult airport to build because it's an Entire City.
Yuck not in real like it is nightmare fighting in and out of Dallas Fort Worth. Loves is so much better.

Never built an airport on an island but I did make a huge 3 or 4 runway international airport (will have to double check again lol) using all vanilla assets including making use of various dlc assets aswell. Then I built a city around the airport lol.

I once did this by digging from hills and depositing into the sea. I didn’t think it would actually work but it did.

You actually need a seaport on the manmade island for viable logistics. Yes, landing strip is critical. When you do that in the middle no where in ocean obviously for naval airbase to guard certain sea lane for oil tankers, ocean marine flows in wartime.

Ngl this was painful to watch the moment plants were being added next to runways and taxiways. Airports aren't meant to have greenery near aircraft as the engines could suck them in and damage them.
OllieSR yeah, FAA in US has strict requirements about level terrain offset from runway in the event of a plane departing from the runway. But we can only see such a pretty airports in games, it looks better this way!
This airport is absurdly unrealistic going from as you mentioned the trees to the spacing between runways and what about lights, runway width/length and other things?
Theres a whole island for 1 airport whats so realistic about that?

Epic airport but the trees are too close to the runway search up Comair Flight 5191 and you will see what I mean
nice work, but you know you an delete the surrounding path and just use the sea wall i think, or the boulevard i think that is in your miscellaneous menu.... Its with the canals
One of my city (the best one yet though) its on a map with a lot of kinda big islands, and I was gonna make a huge bridge connecting two of the islands, but, as the bridge would be way too long, in the midle of the way I made a little artificial island dedicated to hold a airport! The result was very good, and because its mainly connected to a bridge, traffic goes smooth. :)
could you do this on cities skyline on xbox because I've always wanted to make good stuff but i fell like its impossible with out the mods you can get on pc.

Did something like this for different stadiums.
A tad close to sea level. Would make it a little higher.
On PC I build two Airports (with mods). One similar to Hannover and the Other Similar to Hamburg Airport (both in Germany)
From the large Airport - one of the runways is pointing into the small airport.
If a plane ever , ever fails to take off it will run into the small airport area, cross that runway, and the buildings there. and if a plane fails to land it will crash into the buildings there.

Question you have now the option to dedicate what is main road would that solve the traffic issue at your fright terminal ? It looks to me that the turning traffic there cause a bit of an issue and I’m just wondering without mods what are the option to fix it

I haven't done this before. I think I would only do this if there was already a small island, and then terraform it to fit the airports. That way I would not have to worry about flooding my city too much. And I would have to make sure I had the appropriate pumping stations and tanks first.

if you do the landscaping white the simulation running and not rush it, you avoid the massive flood and just cause some waves
